500+ million years of harsh winds, freezing rain, and crushing waves have carved quite the masterpiece here on Kangaroo Island. Word to the wise - be prepared for all of those elements at any moment or else your favorite hat might almost be a goner! Have you ever seen rock formations like this? || #seesouthaustralia#authenticki#visitkangarooisland
Yeah. They don't call it Kangaroo Island for nothing... Almost three years ago I rolled up at Stokes Bay to find a few locals on hand to tell us all about the epic beach below. I'm not sure what was more gob-smacking... The ridiculously perfect white sand and blue water over the rise, or the sheer volume of our welcoming committee. Man... what a location! 🏖🙌

Weekend wandering with you 💕
This was our very first visit to Kangaroo Island, and there’s really no better way to describe it than.. peacefully slow 🙏🏽 It was a much-needed opportunity to slow down, and reconnect. With the wind in our hair; the ocean views; and with each other.
| HOPPY | Easter, every bunny 😜🐰🍫. One child here already on a sugar meltdown at 10am (not his 1st for the day either 😣) and the other currently too wired for his day sleep apparently as he’s jumping up and down on his bed refusing sleep 🤪😫. #wishusluck#parentingfail#justforoneday
Here's a family of endangered(population currently decreasing) Australian Sea lions with young babies relaxing on the beach. Did you know it’s very common for the mother to head out to sea for up to three days at a time to collect food for her pups!
There’s estimated to be between 10,000 - 12,000 Australian sea lions left in the wild! That’s why it’s extremely important for conservation teams such as @sealbay to continue to spread awareness and educate newer generations. They’re doing a fantastic job!
Had a blast the past couple of days on a photo project over on Kangaroo Island! I'm glad you guys have been enjoying my stories! I’m excited to share with you all!
Kangaroo Island sure isn’t disappointing! Half these beaches I have all to myself! Maybe because it costs an arm and a leg to get over here! 😂😂 Time to head down to the southside of the island to chase the waves!
Because I miss my jumping photos....
I remember trying to take a jumping photo when I was 38 weeks pregnant hahaha
Yup! I laughed after 😄

I had all these great plans to go to Pennington Bay for a sunrise shoot but I took a wrong turn and went the opposite direction. Trying to head to the beach, I came across this field covered with fog. It disappeared quickly but I managed to capture this.
| it’s hard to take a wrong turn on Kangaroo Island. 🦘✨

We tend to associate the word ‘reef’ with tropical reefs, however those found in temperate areas such as South Australia are just as significant and important.
The Great Southern Reef extends around Australia’s southern coastline covering around 71,000 square kilometres. Many species that call the GSR home like the weedy seadragon are not found anywhere else in the world. This reef is important, but parts of it are in trouble.
Our recent marine life survey of Smith Bay on the north coast of Kangaroo Island highlighted the diversity of this area with numerous sightings of both endemic and protected species. KI’s beautiful coastline is at risk. Follow the link in our bio to find out more and have your say to make a difference 🐠🐠🌊🌊

If we had to do it over again, we’d spend a whole day at these dunes. Come to think of it, we’d spend a whole lot more time on Kangaroo Island in general. We’re on a time crunch here in SA and believe it or not, a month isn’t nearly enough time to savor all of the little spots were being surprised by daily. Even though we didn’t get as much time here as we‘d like, we’re holding onto these memories and hoping we get back here some day! Where’s a place you wish you got to spend a little more time exploring? || #authenticKI#seesouthaustralia#littlesahara
