Back to the Tractors. This is our second favorite boot with the tractor sole. Really rooting for this one, but haven’t found it in my size yet. These are from AW18 Sisyphus. Rick Owens obviously. #lucentement
Band : Carnival in coal
Album : Fear not / French cancan
Country : France
Year : 2001 / 1999
Fav song : Don't be happy, worry / Maniac
Today's band is Carnival in Coal (C in C). This review is a bit special as it is not only one but two albums that I'm reviewing.
So, C in C is a band from my country, France, and is one of the pioneers of weird and experimental music. They're very important to me as they are the ones that opened my eyes about all the avant-garde scene.
Fear not is a very diverse album. You will find grindcore, death, black, thrash, jazz and sounds that you never heard before. Its diversity is one of its strength, as it never gets boring. Don't be happy, worry is an extremely entertaining song that can get stuck in you head for a veeeerry long time. Heck, I was so obsessed with it that I spent an entire day listening to it over and over.
The weirdest a'd most experimental songs are definitely Cadillac and Daaahhh.
1308 JP 08 and Yes, we have no bananas are covers that did better than the original but C in C are used to do that (we'll get to it later). Fear / fear not is a pretty calm but anxious song at the same time.
French cancan is an album made of almost only covers.
As I said before, C in C are very good at doing covers better than the original, but this album mastered it at an indescribable point. They don't just play the song, they give it their own style and energy, making them 200 times better.
For example, they made Fucking hostile into a calm song, and damn it's good. The best song of this album is without any hesitation Maniac, it's incredibly epic for a cover of a pop song and I could listen to it for days. They even made a cover of baker Street!
Still, they are 2 original tracks and they are excellent. My favourite armchair is, like fear / fear not, a slow and dark track that gives goosebumps even tho the lyrics are stupid. +the bass
+the experimentation / diversity
+C in C's style
+The double vocals
+Even dimebag and Vinnie liked it
-It's too short!
MY CLASSICAL ALBUM IS HERE + MUUNNOS DISCOGRAPHY IS NOW FREE
Listen/Get free my first classical album VASTUSTUS (LP 2014) as well as the entire muunnos discography until the debut album FAEX ROSE is out. After that, all albums will be available at a regular price from all current platforms. Link in bio.
VASTUSTUS do not belongs to muunnos discography but to my career as Rekordikon. I uploaded it to Bandcamp to make it easier to get for now, but as I said above it's just temporary.
This album features my first piano and analog synth works, and as every first work, influences are not hidden; Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass, Dvorak and Bach, mainly, if you want.
I performed the piano pieces with a KAWAI electric piano using only an EQ, for the synth ones I used a JP-8000 which I recorded using mics in a long concrete room for natural reverb. NO DYNAMICS HAVE BEEN USED so I recommend to download the WAV files. The convertion to MP3 acts like a very rude compressor in some moments rich in lows. But in terms of mental enjoyment these melodies make the job even in 28kbps MP3.
Turn off everything. My album VASTUSTUS must be played in the most archaic conditions as possible.
Since 2006, muunnos is an obscure Metal project by Rekordikon, a 34 years old Argentinian-Italian record producer based in Oslo, Norway. He is on vocals, guitars, decks and synths for live performances and all recordings in studio. Precise members are being seeked to join muunnos after the debut album is out.
My new single "Fremmede Drømme" is about being fully committed to a relationship and suddenly falling in love with a complete stranger.
A couple of years ago I walked into a party and my eyes met with a stranger across the room. He smiled all over his face and I smiled back, and from that moment we were both completely lost. I had always thought that love, at first sight, was some bullshit, but yeah this was just like in the movies. Unbelievable. At that moment I was in a relationship and I loved that person from the bottom of my heart, but I just couldn't forget what I had experienced at that party. I felt so caught up, between these two personsz and it drove me completely mad, but at least this song came out of it.
