Hello wassup been slacking lately on these posts but here I am! Coming at you with this beauty on a Monday afternoon! #onmytoast : @traderjoes whole grain sourdough, smashed avocado, beet-cured salmon (from a trio of smoked salmon @traderjoes), chia seeds, sumac, lemon zest + mint 🥑
Breakfast today was toasted whole grain bread with avocado (mashed with lemon juice, flaky sea salt, and crushed red pepper) topped with arugula, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onion, a poached egg, and fresh parsley.
The avocado I used is from Camposol Cares From Farm To Family, and I am ON BOARD with the ethos of this company (they ain't lying, they truly care). @camposolcares harvest blueberries, avocados, mangoes, tangerines grapes in a sustainable manner in Peru, Colombia and Uruguay. They are environmentally conscious, controlling their water footprint and preserving the surrounding native and plant life. Their produce is non-GMO and pesticide-free, but that's not it. They also care about their employees, guaranteeing fair relations and working with them on personal & professional development. Yay for companies that CARE — especially if they're providing avocados ;)

happy monday, my friends! kicked off my day with an early @barryscanada 🏋🏻♀️ I don’t have to head into work today, but I still love getting my workout done first thing! It starts my day off on the right foot, puts me in an amazing mood, and I like being able to shower, get ready, and get on with my day! ❤️

The National est le restaurant de l’hôtel The Benjamin en plein Midtown 🏙. Nous y sommes allées pour prendre le petit déjeuner et le moins que l’on puisse dire c’est que nous n’avons pas été déçues ! Le cadre est magnifique avec les banquettes en Chesterfield, c’est très confortable. Ensuite, tout sur la carte nous faisait envie. Nous avons décidé de partager un granola maison avec yaourt grec et fruits de saison, un avocado toast 🥑 et des ‘breakfast tacos’ composés d’œufs brouillés, tomates, fromage et avocado. C’était un vrai délice, tout est fait maison et ça se sent. C’est frais et pas trop gras. Nous sommes fans de l’endroit, parfait pour un petit déjeuné tranquille 🍳.
🇬🇧 The National is the restaurant of The Benjamin Hotel in Midtown. We went for breakfast and the least we can say is that we were not disappointed! The setting is beautiful with its Chesterfield sofas, it's very comfortable. Then everything on the menu looked delicious. We decided to share a homemade granola with Greek yoghurt and seasonal fruit, an avocado toast and 'breakfast tacos' 🌮 made of scrambled eggs, tomatoes 🍅, cheese and avocado. It was a real treat, everything is homemade and we can feel it. It's fresh and not too fat. We are fans of the place, perfect for a quiet breakfast

Summer break is officially OVER 😖 but my love for avocado toast will never end 🥑 🙌🏻 in my opinion, avo goes great with everything 😍 especially a nice, big piece of bread 🍞

Now lets talk avacados.🥑 Avacados have been my absolute fav and I love how versitle it is to put in so many dishes!
And not only is it yummy but it is loaded with a ton of nutrients and is a healthy fat that is essential for your body😄 But of course dont overdo it with the avacados. Too much of a good thing can be bad for your body. Half an avacado a day is a good amount to have without overdoing it if you are eating it daily.😊 But I would definitely advise doing your own research too see how much avocado is okay for you and your dietary needs😊

Ever wondered how they make that stunning avocado rose we see everywhere on Instagram?
Well ask yourself no more, because I am going to show you step by step, how you can make your own avocado roses super easily!
Authentic Mexican Guacamole 🇲🇽🥑
Guacamole comes in many variations - Salvadoreños like to add a hard boiled egg for example - but I personally find this recipe to be the best! Enjoy with corn chips, on toast, or scooped up with veggies!
-2-3 ripes avocados, pitted and mashed
-1/4 red onion, finely chopped
-1 jalapeño, finely chopped (optional, if you can't take the 🔥)
-1/4 cup fresh cilantro, finely sliced
-1-2 tomatoes, finely chopped
-1-2 tsp fresh lime juice
-Salt to taste
-In a small food processor, combine the onion, tomatoes, cilantro & jalapeño. Pulse until finely chopped. (OR chop by hand)
-In a bowl, mash the 🥑 using a molcajete/Mortar & Pestle or a whisk.
-Combine the veggies with the avocados.
-Sprinkle with salt & lime juice to taste.
Prevent your guac from going brown:
-Add an extra tsp of lime juice
-Keep the avocado pits in the bowl
-Eat ASAP! .
I can’t believe I went almost the entire summer without making griddled tomato toast. This is my go-to breakfast when we go glamping in the Canadian wilderness every summer, but I didn’t go this year which may explain why it escaped me. Well, now i must make up for lost time. So what do I mean by griddled tomatoes? It’s as simple as it sounds. I sear thick slices of tomato in olive oil sprinkled with sea salt. I like to let them go until they turn into a tomato jam thing, but if you want to keep them more whole, use firm tomatoes and keep an eye on them. Along with my jammy yellow heirloom tomatoes, I used @breadalonebakery organic wheat sourdough toast, smashed avo with ebtb spice & sriracha for a kick. Also can’t forget the side of Cheddar (the pup lol).
