  • Tobacco has such a bad rap in our society. In many North and South American cultures the plant has deep ceremonial roots.
Tobacco is offered as a gift to elders that hold knowledge. When they have shared or are asked for their participation in traditional ceremonies they are given tobacco bundles. I have learnt this through the Lakota tradition but it happens in many others. Tobacco is placed on the ground as an offering to great spirit when something has been taken from the land. This shows a reciprocity to the earth and a gratitude for everything that is offered from the land. It is smoked in ceremonies in traditional pipes mixed with other sacred herbs to potentiate prayer and energetically release them into the atmosphere. When the owner of the pipe fills their pipes they are in deep prayer and their thoughts and prayers are then released through the smoke. Tobacco is also known to heighten ecstatic spiritual experiences during ceremony. In Peru Shamans use the properties of tobacco to bring focus and clarity to an ayahuasca ceremony to name just one of the benefits.
In all of these ways it is never inhaled into the lungs.
Happy Earth day to everyone. Let’s stay as connected as we can to the land, it is the best teacher.
I have created these limited edition archival botanical prints and am selling them. If you have a connection with tobacco and you would like to honour it please get into contact with me through a DM.

  • We are all connected. One of the ways this is reflected is through this Planet that we all live on, together.

Our paths may be different but it is on this Earth that all our steps are taken, all our mistakes are made and all our joys felt. There are parts of this world that we feel more connected to, whether because of proximity, memory or energy it is important to recognize that which gives us strength and also what does not. If a place, person, a habit, a life, feels toxic, you must remember that the world is wide and it is always ready for you.
Get out there!

My path has taken me to some powerful places. One of the most transformative was Volcán Fuego, the mountain you see in the background of this photo. My experience with this particular place changed me. And everyday when I look up into the clear morning sky and see the dark cloud rising from its center, I am reminded of the power of this Planet but also the power of Us.

Happy Earth Day!

  • (1/2)—Imagine if we put our ego aside. By ego I mean The idea of “I’m always right” the same idea that make us look down upon those who we share blood with...Imagine if we could put all that aside and just embrace them with love. Reality is that we are limited in this life...As we take another breath...Life is Fleeting away! Along with that Sense of superiority...snap out of that shit with your siblings...you only have them for a limited time...it could be years for many years to come or for a blink of an eye..it’s uncertain but what is certain is that their and your time will expire —let love flow through all of you...let the rest of our life be that of love to our family and our friends...because at the end of the day...our differences of ideas don’t really matter. .
.
.Someone really close to me said this to me and had my ego cornered not because of my lack of arguments but because it speaks pure simple truth that nobody can escape from...it gives me retrospective in how fragile I am to submitting but at the same time I acknowledge it but I fight it by thinking that “it can wait.” “I’ll do it tomorrow” but in reality there’s no fucking tomorrow. It’s just my ego of being fragile rationalizing my fear. .(to be continued...)

  • Ayahuasca was one of the most powerful and important experiences for my growth. This plant medicine is a journey in itself that takes you deep within to help uncover what we’re really all about at our core. I went to my fist ceremony about a year and a half ago with no idea what to expect other than seeing some stories on YouTube. It’s referred to as a plant medicine because just like how you can take pills from a doctor to heal the body, you can take ayahuasca from a shaman to heal the soul. Just like with any work that one does within, the medicine isn’t always going to provide the most comfortable or pleasant journey. Oftentimes, we are our own worst enemy when it comes to reaching goals in life. Limiting beliefs constantly hold us back from reaching our true potential and living our lives to the absolute fullest. What happens when we decide to take a substance like this is that the medicine can very directly show us the old beliefs that we have been so attached to, and they can be scary at times. However, facing these fears in a direct manner and overcoming them ***in the appropriate setting and under the guidance of proper shamans*** can take us to a whole new level of awareness and liberation within ourselves. Since it’s one of the most powerful substances a human can experience, it’s absolutely not for everyone. But for anyone that has been interested in doing the deep work through ayahuasca, I couldn’t recommend @ayahuasca_center_laceiba any more highly. It’s a beautiful facility and ceremony in Medellín run by some of the best human beings on the planet whose sole mission is to guide people to become the best possible versions of themselves. Thank you for being such a crucial part along my journey. Mucho amor 🙏
