  • Life update with a four year old:
Parker learned the phrase “butt crack” at school. He says it 500 times a day now. Whenever I ask a question, the answer is ALWAYS “butt crack.”
He’s stubborn and opinionated and does everything at his own pace. It takes three outfit changes and two shoe changes to get out the door, and because he’s so assertive and opinionated he has to do everything himself.
He can be very competitive and aggressive towards his little brother, but he’s very protective of him when we’re outside the house.
He’s super into pizza, bread, chicken tenders and loves to watch anything train related on YouTube.
He also recently started basketball practice - we just drop him off & leave and it makes me feel like he’s in high school.
He’s incredibly smart, has a remarkable memory and literally shows zero patience after asking for something.
THIS IS FOUR. 💕👦🏼

  • This is 44! ✨ Yesterday was my birthday! 🎂 While I can’t believe how fast time has gone by, I know that age is just a number. Instead of regretting getting older, I chose to look at it as a privilege. A privilege that is denied to many. With age comes wisdom and a comfort with oneself, and that’s a great feeling! So here’s to another trip around the sun! ☀️ I plan on enjoying the ride! 💫

Raise your hand if you’ve changed one too many blowouts in your life 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ if your hand doesn’t go up you’re missing out.

Don’t let that sweet face fool ya, changing him is a legit wrestling match + blowouts like this don’t make it any easier. 🦖

  • Our bodies are pretty miraculous, ladies! Stretching and growing and coming back to wherever it needs to be for optimal health.🤍 ⁣
⁣
It’s never been about a size for me. Or a number on the scale. Or a pair of skinny jeans. It’s been about a FEELING. ⁣
⁣
Strong.⁣
Confident.⁣
Energetic.⁣
Sexy.⁣
Empowered.⁣
Happy.⁣
⁣
When I focus on feeling well..... mentally, physically, emotionally & spiritually..... my habits and daily behaviors are in alignment with the simple things it takes to yield the physical results. ⁣
⁣
You don’t actually wanna lose 10 pounds. You wanna FEEL the way you think you’ll feel when you lose 10 pounds. But focusing on the process instead of just the outcome is what will help you release the weight FOR GOOD.⁣
⁣
I’m so grateful for these at home workouts that help me start my day with self care and make it so convenient to move my body daily. I’m so grateful for nutrition programs that have educated me and empowered me to make better choices in the kitchen and create lifestyle changes on an emotional level so I’m no longer a slave to food. I’m so grateful for supplements that I incorporate that simplify nutrition and help fill in the gaps for what my body needs on a cellular level to perform at its best and make eating healthy a little bit easier. ⁣
⁣
And I’m so freakin grateful I get to share these simple solutions with other women who want more for their health and happiness and need a solid no guesswork game plan that fits into the busiest lives. ⁣
⁣
I know how life changing it is when you take control of your health and one of the things I love most in life is seeing my clients and coaches’ lives transform as they take simple steps each day in the direction towards everything they wanna do and become in life. It all starts with how you FEEL. That impacts how you show up in every aspect of your life whether you realize it or not. ⁣
⁣
If you need help, gf I am here with you! Doing this WITH YOU day in and day out and I’m not going anywhere cause it’s what I’m on this Earth to do! ☺️⁣
⁣
Shoot me a message so we can chat or click the link in my bio and get some info about working with me as your coach for forever and let’s get you feeling well.🤍

  • Have you ever gotten a tattoo that symbolizes a dream realized? That’s what this meant to me. ⁣
⁣
I had wanted a forearm tattoo for a long time and planned to go with Matt after I was able to quit my corporate job. And so a little over 2 years ago, when I retired from Corporate America, we headed down to Atlanta and made it official. ⁣
⁣
I really wanted to memorialize something so big. I had wanted to make a change in my life for a long time. I knew that something wasn’t quite right, but I was too afraid to do anything about it... until I did. ⁣
⁣
I started my business, still feeling really uncertain if I could actually do it. But, I felt the fear and did it anyway. Deep down, I believed that God was leading me toward something more. ⁣
⁣
That became a mantra for me the past few years. Its crazy to think how many blessings I have experienced as a result of being spirit led. Even when I wasn’t sure. Even when I was really afraid. Especially then. ⁣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
It’s totally possible to break free from fear and judgement to live the life you were meant to live. This means having your dream body, taking the trips you have always wanted, getting out of debt, starting a side hustle, etc. It starts with leaning into fear and trusting that still small voice inside.⁣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
Sounds counterintuitive, right?! It’s so important to recognize that it’s totally normal to feel fear when faced with the unknown. Whether it’s fear of judgement, fear of failure, or fear of just of not knowing what to do, it’s a natural for it to happen. This often comes when you want to make a change, break a habit or try something new. ⁣
⁣
For me, when I’m afraid of failing, I acknowledge that’s it ok, and then choose to take action anyway. Growth by definition is experiencing something you have never known. So feeling fear and stepping forward in growth is required to live your best life!⁣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
My encouragement: Stop fearing the fear and ask the Spirit to lead you. You don’t have to do it alone!

  • I’m back! Haven’t posted in over 6 months 🤭 Haven’t worked out in over 6 months 🙈 ⁣
⁣
What the hell have I been doing!? Well, I launched a business (@kalani.nz - go check it out) and been busy with family over Summer as well as having bronchitis for a couple of months. ⁣
⁣
Buuut, excuses aside and laying it all out on the table... I hit a bit of a slump last year. I was working out every day but not seeing the changes I wanted to see. I got sick and then couldn’t get back into it for a while. After about a month, I was like hmmm 🤔, haven’t really lost any muscle or gained any fat and considering all the time I was putting in, what was the point? ⁣
⁣
Fast forward 6 months... I feel like crap. Not so much on the outside but I am always tired, have no energy and keep getting sick. Note to self... find a BALANCE! First day of bbg 1.0 done. I’m def going to feel it tomorrow! ⁣

  • The Sweat 6 week challenge is over!🍾💪 . This year was by far my favorite year. Even though I missed my PWR gang, I loved the unique workouts that the trainers put together ❤ .

I can't believe what my body has done for me in under a year 😱. I have never been more appreciative and amazed of what my body is capable of. Women's bodies are AMAZING. I had so much anxiety throughout my pregnancy because I was scared somthing would go wrong, but my body knew exactly what to do. Believe it or not... becoming pregnant had actually done wonders for my self image too 🙈. Before pregnancy I used to judge every single imperfection on my stomach. I knew I had a twisted view of myself, and I was nervous what would happen to that view after pregnancy. I know this isn't everyone's story, but going through pregnancy really made me realize that my body is made for so much more than a flat stomach, and its capable of so much more than I could have ever thought of. I'll take this loose skin any day for my sweet boys. .

I loved the BBG challenge and honestly it's the longest I have ever stuck with a BBG workout! But I'm so excited to rejoin my PWR babes and start PWR at home today! Chest and tris is in the bag!

  • New blog post:
TRIGGER WARNING//
Over the past 6 months I’ve shared many aspects of my postpartum fitness journey.
.
What I haven’t shared, is the dark place I inhabited beforehand.
.
It took me almost 10 years to admit out loud I struggled with disordered eating. And when I did, I spoke about it like it was over with or in the past. Like I was cured.
.
But you can’t cure an eating disorder. And although it often manifests in physical ways, you can’t see it either.
.
You can’t put the thoughts in your head on a scale.
.
You may look at me and hate-like my photos because I’ve “always been skinny” so my progress is “not that big a deal”.
.
You may assume fitness and nutrition come easily to me, that I’m naturally athletic and don’t like junk food.
.
False.
.
My transformation is not shocking from a weight perspective. You might not even notice the difference between photos of me throughout the years, but I do. I can pick out the highs and lows, when I was in control and and when I wasn’t. I ricocheted between cycles of extreme restriction and binge-restriction for years. Exercise was just a means to an end.
.
Six months after I started my wellness journey in 2018, I found out I was pregnant. I was in a healthier place in many respects, but was still ruled by negative thoughts around food.
.
Pregnancy forced me to completely surrender control of my body. It wasn’t about me anymore.
.
I now consider myself in active recovery. I will never be cured, but I have the confidence and the skills to manage the negative thoughts when they come. And they do still come.
.
I am not proud of who I used to be. I tried to talk myself out of sharing today’s blog post right up until I hit publish. But I have no business talking about where I’m at, without first explaining where I was.
.
Link in bio ❤️.

  • The last six weeks completing the @sweat challenge have been exactly what I needed. A strong start to the year, and that extra bit of motivation to add consistent exercise into my weekly routine again. ⁣
⁣
Yes there have been physical changes in that time for me, but most of them can’t be captured in a photo. I have more energy. I’m sleeping better (when Daphne lets me 😳). I’m stronger. I’m thinking more clearly. And on the days I complete a work out my mood is much more positive than on the days I don’t. ⁣
⁣
Most importantly of all, I’ve made myself really proud. Not of the physical results, but of this 👉 (swipe).⁣
⁣
These are small snippets from my stories over the last six weeks. It’s me showing up (and Daphne often joining ☺️). It’s pushing through the times I didn’t want to get off the couch, and feeling SO much better for it. It’s taking a half hour for ME, and recognising what an impact that small decision makes when the days begin to add up. ⁣
⁣
For all the women who joined the challenge too, I hope beyond everything else - the progress photos, the number on the scale, the inches around your waist - that you just feel PROUD of the commitment you made. You did something big, for YOU, and that’s not a small accomplishment.⁣
⁣
Next up for me is weeks 7-12 of BBG! I want to finish a full 12 weeks before considering changing things up again. ⁣
⁣
What are you up to next?!⁣

What's everyone doing after the 6 week challenge? Did you enjoy the program you chose? I'm going back to #bbg. And maybe after I lose a little more and gain some more strength I will challenge myself more.

  • My sexy new accessory for the next 12 weeks so insurance will pay for my vein procedures🙄
My legs have hurt for years, and initially I figured it was the extra weight I carried post pregnancy and that as I lost weight it would get better. NOPE. In the last 3 years I have lost nearly 40lbs and they kept getting worse, sometimes I wake up feeling like a vice grip is on my legs. They are heavy, they hurt, and they swell.....SO BAD. And now ugly little blue veins have started to appear.
Today at the doctor, my suspicions were confirmed, I have Superficial Venous Reflux in both legs. We have 6, 3 in each leg, main superficial veins in our legs and 5 of mine are bad. They should be 2-3mm and my worst one is 22.9mm!! 12 weeks of stockings daily have to be worn, so insurance will cover the ablations, and injections. I will go back in May, so we can re-evaluate and submit to insurance. Then over 4-6 weeks they will do multiple procedures to get rid of the bad veins.
So looking forward to FINALLY having some relief.....in about 4 months🤣

  • Happy Monday everyone!!🖤⁣
⁣
#NewWeek, #NewProgram for me! I restarted #PWRathome today and I LOVE it!! I chose Legs & Abs for today because I’m just accustomed to having legday on Mondays. As I mentioned previously, I aim to do 3 resistance sessions per week (even though it’s designed for more) and if I feel my hormonal issues are getting worse, I may cut the workouts shorter. I’m optimistic that PWRathome will be easier on my joints and hopefully help me do a little more sculpting on these baby muscles!💪⁣

Hope you guys are having a beautiful Monday! 😍

  • How to package your program⁣
⁣
When it comes to packaging your program you need to think what is it your client wants?⁣
⁣
What are the end results?⁣
⁣
Once you understand the end you start working on how to get them there.⁣
⁣
You know the goal / results they want, now, how are you going to get them there?⁣
⁣
What are the 1st three steps that need to happen in your program?⁣
⁣
What does the process look like that every client will go through?⁣
⁣
You need to ask yourself these questions, then put it into a system or method.⁣
⁣
Yes, every client is 100% different but there are still a few things that every client will go through in your program.⁣
⁣
Start mapping out what the whole program will look like⁣

  • Focus....
⠀
Will your focus today be fueled about the indulgences of the weekend? The workouts you missed? “Falling” off track?
⠀
Or will it be fueled by the memories you shared with loved ones? Finally trying out that new restaurant with your husband on a spontaneous date night? Enjoying that extra glass (or two) of wine with your bestie? Having a piece of birthday cake to celebrate another year of life of your son, daughter, husband, bestie? Eating an entire bag of the most buttery popcorn with your kids as you binged on their favorite cartoons with them? Ditched the alarm for your early morning workout and instead waking up in the arms of your loved one? Living life unscripted instead of being a prisoner to rigid rules?
⠀
It’s easy, and for many of us, a habit, to start a new week focused on “erasing” or undoing the experiences of the weekend. However, I encourage you to allow the beautiful experiences of those unscripted days be fueled by gratitude of an abundant heart instead of regret, for this upcoming week. Who’s with me?

  • #sweatchallenge 6 weeks before and after! I honestly was not even going to take a picture today because I did not think I would see an iota of change, but to my surprise I am actually noticing some subtle differences 💪🏻 •
••
I wanted to post this because sometimes I get so consumed with making the “right” decision and choosing the “right” program. Because of that, I switched programs 3 times during the challenge before dropping out at week 4. But even though my head was all over the place and I didn’t always feel like it, I kept showing up for myself and I’m proud of that. •
••
Moving forward today with #fierce 2.0 and focusing on nutrition. Excited to see what 12 more weeks of consistency will do

That was BBG Week 20 for me. Are you picking back up where you left off or trying something new???

  • What my husband said: How about you run to Target for cleaning supplies and I’ll hang with the kids.
What I heard: How about you run to Target alone so you have the freedom to spend this months mortgage payment on unnecessary home decor and whatever else your heart desires.

  • Goals for this week! ✅ I love setting intentional goals each week. Sometimes they are in my head, or I make them a Wednesday lol, but they help me focus on the things I want to accomplish. Smaller goals help you get to the bigger goals! Big goals for me, while important, often seem like too big a mountain to climb and aren’t enough to get where I’m going. It’s these small goals that all add up!
.
1. Tracking! I plan to track my Macros this week. Maybe again next week too, but I like to make attainable goals and I’m focusing on this week first! Monday-Friday 80% on point. I’ll worry about next week next week!
2. Do one fun thing or an out of the norm project with theses two angel humans. Maybe outdoor painting or something since the weather will be nice!
3. Try a new recipe!
4. Finish out my miles strong this week!! The #30milesin30days is over March 3rd!
5. Work with the girls 2-3 days on writing and the alphabet.
6. Take one Yoga class! (I plan on taking it today! My first one in IDK, 10 years?! ) Follow up post on WHY later. It’s too much for this one haha. If you know me or have followed me I have made it clear I’m not a yoga fan as I can’t relax. But I need it. Terrified. But here we go. .
Was this helpful? Tell me your goals for the week below! 🗓 Are you pushing yourself out of your comfort zone?! I highly recommend it as that’s how we GROW 🌱. No goal is too small! 🌷

Not quite the progress picture I envisioned, but here it is none the less. Progress not perfection. 🤗

I look forward to seeing everyone’s pictures today 🤗🥰 #sweatchallenge2020 #sweatchallenge #bbg #bbgmoms #postpartumbody #bbgpostpartum #bbgprogress #progressnotperfection

  • My alarm went off this morning and my first thought was.....NOPE.

Then a million other thoughts crossed my mind. “You will feel better once you workout”, “you need to do this for you”, “you know you won’t have time later”. All v true. So I got up and chose to do a yoga. Hi, also, don’t anyone underestimate Yoga. That stuffs hard. But I moved my body and now feel a whole lot better.
Happy Monday ✌🏻#nevermissamonday #preworkout #mondayworkout

The start of a new week, the chance to set and meet new goals 👌 I’m feeling so much better today after a bit of organisation and a mindset change. Uni officially started back up today and I have had a productive start! I prepped breakfast last night so I would have a filling, healthy meal to eat at uni, went to a yoga class and smashed out a bunch of work afterwards, before heading to pick up the girls and get through the after school activities rush. Anyone else just love the feeling of having a productive, goal smashing Monday? // breakfast was “flat tummy superfood burcha” by @lonijane, soaked in cashew milk and almond greek yogurt overnight, topped with raw honey and blueberries this morning and then placed in a cute lil eco bag for on the go breakfast ✿

Mom life has changed me. I thought I’d be the mom that does all the Pinterest stuff, you know the mom that’s considered “extra”. How to be her 🤷🏼‍♀️
—
Deep down I want to be that mom, but how do y’all do it? 😂Feels like there isn’t enough time in the day between naps and diaper changes to do the mile long list of Pinterest things I want to do. 😅
—
I ordered birth announcements that still sit in an untouched pile... same with Christmas cards. I didn’t take monthly growth photos... oops! I suppose I failed in these categories, but let me show you the 10,000 photos on my phone (oh wait I can’t “storage full” 🙄 hahah)
—
If I’ve learned anything as a mama it’s that momming is a blessing and the best way to get through each day is to give yourself grace.
—
Where else can you apply this in your life? 🤔

  • Five tips to make meal planning easier! Because every meal you plan ahead is one less decision you will need to make this week! #downwithdecisionfatigue 🙌
Aggghhh . . . I feel your pain. Yup, it can be a challenge to churn out meals all week long, 52 weeks a year. I used to dread that feeling on Sunday afternoon, and wasn't sure where to begin to chip away at the challenge of planning meals for my household for the week.
.
The game changer for me was getting STRATEGIC! I started making a simple a road map for the week. A basic list that includes:
- a few dinner ideas
- a couple of breakfast ideas
- a couple of lunch ideas
- and two snack ideas.
Note that I did NOT say that I plan every single meal, nor do I do a mountain of prep on Sundays. That just doesn't work for me.
FIVE TIPS to minimize the overwhelm:

1️⃣ Shop your fridge, freezer, and pantry for what you already have on hand.

2️⃣ Repeat family favorites. Keep this list handy. Digital? On paper? You do you.

3️⃣ Shop produce that's on sale (which is often what's in season). .
4️⃣ Use a framework to nurture ideas. For example: Monday Meatballs, Tuesday Tacos, Wednesday stir fry, Thursday sheet pan/skillet, Friday slow cooker. Or, plan by ingredients. For example: 1-2 chicken/poultry dinners, 1-2 seafood dinners, 1 plant protein dinner, 1 breakfast-for-dinner, 1 beef. Do what works for you.

5️⃣ Have a back up plan for when all plans go out the window (because that inevitably happens 🤷‍♀️). Keep on hand some basics in the freezer and pantry that can be thrown together as your go-to meal "in case of emergency". .
What's on your road map this week? .

I shopped my fridge, freezer, and pantry and banged out a rough road map for my week. I'll post in stories! .

What's on your road map this week? .

I shopped my fridge, freezer, and pantry and banged out a rough road map for my week. I'll post in stories! .

  • Sunday encouragement if you feel like you totally ruined your progress this weekend.⁣
⁣
Here what my weekend looked like: We had lots of meals out, an impromptu cupcake🧁 run, and I had to take it easy on my workouts after my procedure. ⁣
⁣
In the past, this could have derailed me. But, this is a face of a woman who is learning to get comfortable in the messy middle of progress (with a Starbucks in hand😜). ⁣
⁣
I am learning that creating a new habit is rarely a straight line from point A to point B. It can be really hard and typically includes missteps along the way until it sticks. That was 100% my experience in going alcohol free, and with so many others habits too. ⁣
⁣
Still, I have found myself in a mode where I am locked in and feeling like I am going to do all the things to reach my goal only to find a week later that I "FAILED". ⁣
⁣
From there, it can be so easy to spiral and feel: guilty, stuck, defeated, and like I will N-E-V-E-R get there. ⁣
⁣
⁣[Calling all Type A, High Achievers😂] ⁣⁣
⁣
But, the truth is that "failing" is part of the process.  It is learning what works and what doesn't. It's giving ourselves grace and compassion on the way to changing who we are and how we typically do things.  It's in this process that we are actually becoming the new version of ourselves. ⁣
⁣
Sooooo.....Take a look at your life right now.  Here at this exact moment. ⁣
⁣
How are you showing up and doing the hard things?⁣
How have you made killer progress? ⁣
How are you growing?⁣
How are you taking action more consistently than ever?⁣
How are you dreaming big and doing things that you never have?⁣
⁣
There are SO MANY ways you are winning and rocking your journey.  Focus there sis. ⁣
⁣
Of course, continue to set those big goals, create those new habits and go after them with all you have.  But Instead of judging yourself from a place of pass or fail, celebrate the progress. ⁣
⁣
And while you are at it, seek out others who inspire you, help hold you accountable and support who you are becoming.  It is way more fun that way. ⁣
⁣
Comment “YES!” if you are proud of your progress and tag a sister who is that person who inspires you below! ⁣

  • SO FREAKING FIRED UP RIGHT NOW!⠀
⠀
Quick, gimme some of your fave girls night or slumber party games in the comments! 👇🏾⠀
⠀
Sitting here planning out my week and getting so hype because I am going to hang with my amazing friend and mentor @micahfolsomfit and a handful of my sister coaches that upleveled their businesses in the last 6 months!⠀
⠀
This is my first team retreat and I haven’t seen most of these babes in person since last July! ⠀
⠀
Our community of coaches is seriously top notch and is a main reason why I love to do what I do—bringing other ladies into a positive community like this so they can experience friendships, and a real sisterhood!⠀
⠀
Bring on the fun, cozy clothes, food, and laughs! I’m sure there will be some biz hustle and workouts in there too!⠀
⠀
Keep an eye in my stories throughout the week so you can catch all the fun and behind the scenes of our cabin retreat! 👀⠀
