  • Today we're sharing an update on #StrongAgainstCancer VIP Kade! This sweet, brave kindergartner finished treatment for brain cancer more than 4 years ago, but underwent her 9th brain surgery at @seattlechildrens just last month to replace the prosthetic plate that covers a third of her brain. Kade's mom says, "It was tough to know we would have to shave her head again and relive some of the hard emotions from her cancer days, but she’s so resilient. Surgery went well and she's healing like a champ, excited to go back to school with a beautiful new round skull!" 💜💪

  • When other cancer patients are new to their journey and they are about to go through hair loss and they ask my advice. I don’t sugar coat it I don’t tell them nice things about it. Because it fucking sucks. For me. This is the second time I’ve had to endure this traumatic experience but you know what doesn’t suck? Getting in front of it and taking control of it. I shaved it this time (well mostly) and then I put make up on. Extremely grateful there are people like @jeffreestar in the world who create art for people to express themselves. Makeup changes the way I feel about myself when I have the energy to do it and this palette couldn’t have come out at a better time. #blueblood #jeffreestarcosmetics #makeup #motn

  • I may have cancer for the second time. I may have been let go from my job this week. I may have no insurance as of April 20th. I may have to get a transplant and deal with the hardest part of this. I may be losing my hair for the second time. I may be in menopause for the second time, but as bad as everything may be right now at least I have you. Thank you for everything you do for me and continue to do for me. Thank you for being my rock. Thank you for driving 3 hours round trip to take me to one of my favorite places. Thank you for being my best friend and the best husband I could have ever asked for.

  • Happy Earth Day! 🌎⠀
⠀
Here at PSMG we do our part to ensure our home here on earth is a safe & a healthy place for generations to come. ⠀
⠀
Here are some of the ways reduce our waste at our 6 locations:⠀
⠀
-we don't use or accept Styrofoam cups during our lunches⠀
-over 12 years ago we switched to electronic medical records which drastically reduced our paper waste
-we use a shred company for the paper documents we do have that recycles 100% of the paper, after it is shredded securely
-we implement e-faxing to reduce our paper waste
-the company we use to remove our chemo waste incinerates the waste and then converts it to energy, it does NOT go to landfill.

Truly it's the little things that add up. We can all do a small part to keep our planet and ourselves as healthy as possible. #earthday #earthday2019

  • When you have stood on top of the world sometimes it is hard to come down...let me explain. I have been blessed to live a life that has been full of adventure, passion, true love and abundance. It was not all given to me. I had to fight for everything I have. "Silver platters" never existed in my life. If I wanted to "LIVE", I needed to make it happen.

Your cancer journey is no different. Do you want to live? You need to make it happen! I have worked with 100's of people over the years that wanted to live but had no idea how to make it happen. They had all the will in the world to climb Mount Everest (to live) but they didn't know the way, that is until they met me!

The gentle guide, the tough coach, the boisterous cheerleader. All they needed was to show up with the strong wanting to live ...and they do it...and cancer never stands in their way.

I don't work with wimps! I am not going to give you platitudes to make you feel better about what is happening to you. I am a tough coach, but if you do everything I tell you to and work like your life depends on it, you will live. Better yet you will live well...cancer is not your destiny! I can prove it...lets get on a call...DM me!

  • Day 899 for #20tocrushcancer, in support of those who are battling #cancer (in any form), or who have survived it. This one hits close to home for me, as some of the people in my life deal with both the daily challenges and the medical procedures in order to get through their day. Helping to raise #awareness is one way to show that I'm looking out for you.
Take time to let those people in your life who deal with the challenges and treatments of this illness know that they are loved and appreciated. It could make all the difference in their day, and help give them the courage to work through their challenges. #letscheckonafriend

If you are seeing this post, know that you are a awesome and amazing person. And yes, you matter to me.

  • Cancer takes a toll on many aspects of your life. ⠀
You’ve gone through what has likely been the most trying journey you’ve ever faced. Yet, as you’ve completed treatment, you’re facing many expectations, both from yourself and from others. ⠀
.⠀
👉Expectations to jump right back into life or to pick up where you left off before your diagnosis. Does this sound familiar ?!?! ⠀
. ⠀
While the weight of those expectations can be heavy, this actually serves as an AMAZING opportunity to re-evaluate what truly matters to YOU rather than living out other people’s expectations. ⠀
.
Here are some practical ways to start your revised expectation journey:⠀
.
✨Advocate for adequate rest.⠀
✨Set boundaries for what you say yes to.⠀
✨Ask for help (this is a hard one, I know!) ⠀
✨Set social limits - ask what social interactions breathe life into you and which ones drain you.⠀
✨Make things you LOVE to do a priority.⠀
✨Choose one act of self love everyday (stay tuned for my great menu on self love options).⠀
.⠀
👉How else have you had to revise your own expectations? What helps you? ⠀
.⠀

  • Life changes and it can be really hard. Sometimes things happen that humble your sights. Something I’ve learned recently is that it’s not the most important to stay calm, or not freak out, or hold in your tears and emotions and pretend everything is great. Like you can do all that and are entitled to your feelings but the trick is to stay centered. Things could be worse and no matter what staying grateful for the position you GET TO BE IN is key. It’s also really hard lol, but we can do hard things. No point in trying to be in control when it’s in God’s hands. So yeah things could have been different and in the same breath they could have been worse. I’ve learned to appreciate the right people and things and to see who and what really appreciates me and is truly for me and that’s a big something. Oh yeah and say it with me: fxck cancer 👊🏽 #positivevibes #encouragement #learning #beatbreastcancer #beatcancer #fuckcancer

  • From @missjillianmarina: could use some prayers for this guy today. He’s a Combat Veteran, and the best father, grandfather and great grand father there ever was. We call him “Papou” ❤️ last year he was diagnosed with bladder cancer, and after extensive chemotherapy and radiation he was given the “all clear” about a month ago.. well, the cancer is back. A tumor on the top of his bladder that he’ll be having surgery soon to go in and remove. This man is, and has always been my rock and I’m absolutely terrified of losing him. I’m not a religious person but, since he is, I’m asking for all the prayers and light and juju he can get. Thank you so much. ❤️

  • Normally I would just post this in my stories, but it’s too important. 🎗
When I was young (11/12?), the aunt I was closest to died of cancer. This was not only my first memorable experience with death.. but my first experience with cancer. When I was 21, my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer and I am so happy to say she is a survivor. Last year, a friend from high school’s little boy was diagnosed with brain cancer, and later that year, his tiny little body could fight no more. And this year, my sister in law let us know she, too, has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Cancer. Cancer is awful. Horrible. Worse yet, it does not discriminate. 😔

More than 5 years ago, I met this wonderful woman at a #disneysmmc conference in San Francisco. She was friendly and warm and radiated happiness from every fiber — @laderalady — Not too long after that conference, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.. she has fought and conquered and fought some more. Always with grace, elegance, a smile, and faith. The woman’s faith is like nothing I’ve seen. She has Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, and it does not care that she is sunshine and happiness. It does not care that she is a wife and a mother. It does not care that she is determined to fight it with all she has. It has now decided to invade some of the most critical physical elements of her body. Her spine, and her brain. 💔
From that same conference all those years ago, we met another amazing woman. @cambowman - and she is equally as amazing and determined. She and her husband own a company that does GOOD @greaterink - and they have put together a fundraiser for our friend, Jaime. Hopefully this will help Jaime not worry about small things like bills, and focus on her family and her fight. 💪🏼 If you have been touched by cancer, please consider purchasing one of Greater Ink’s t-shirts from teamjaime.org (I will place a link in my bio for a few days) - let’s help this family.. and show cancer it may break bodies, but it cannot break spirits. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ #86cancer #teamjaime #cancer #beatcancer #nottodaycancer #dogood #greaterink #bestrong #bloggerfriends

  • Hi everyone. On May 4th I will be taking part in an event at Tim Horton's stadium in Hamilton called Climb for Cancer. Each participant is tasked with raising donations for this cause. I would like to raise at least $100 but ultimately $250 is the ideal goal.
Please help me out. I'm looking for small amounts such as $5, $10, your pocket change or even any leftover Cuban pesos that you want to get rid of. Below is a link to my page where you can make an online donation and read more about this event. You can also give me your donation in person if you bump into to me and I will transfer it myself. Thanks a lot.
