I’m so excited- I have a full day of intro phone calls with my brand spankin’ new athletes today- some of you ladies I’ve been insta friends with for a long time now, and I’m giddy to say the least that we get to have a real life convo! 📲Spots filled up quicker than I could’ve ever imagined for run coaching, so I’m keeping my word and continuing my $59/month special thru next week... unless I hit a certain number, in which case I’ll ultimately just have to cap it so that I can be the best coach that I can and not be stretched too thin. Hope you guys understand, and hope you all have an amazzzzing Thursday!! 🏃🏼‍♀️💜🧡💜

  • It feels like it’s been FOREVER since I’ve crossed a finish line, and I am counting the seconds until Saturday when I get to race again. 🙌🏼🥳Ironically, I’ll be running the same course as my last race, my 50k, but backwards and a 35k version. My goal for this spring was to slow down on racing for the first time in 2 years, and focus on building up strength for all my fall marathons...but a little fun run here and there is necessary for my soul. 😬 So I have this weekend’s 35k and then a half marathon in June and that’s it until we are back full force marathon training! CAN’T FREAKING WAIT.🔥🔥🔥 #trailrace

  • Suddenly I was running Boston marathon, overcome with emotion, had a hard time holding back the tears 😁
It's about 1km downhill at the start and then straight into rolling hills. Holy crap it was tough, the humidity was torture. I ran for the first 6k and then started my run/ walk thing but my leg's felt so heavy, it was like running through treacle and I thought, shit am I gonna finish this?? Then I saw a girl walking too, asked her if she was okay.. She was having a tough day too so we made a pact to finish it together. We ran when we could and walked when needed. We didn't leave each others side (except for the Newton Hills but we always waited at the top!)
Headphones out and completely blown away with the support (better than any other marathon #sorrynotsorry)
Shaun was waiting at 16 mile and introduced him to my new friend, cos that's what you do, right??? 😂 
The fun, overruled the pain!! It was mind blowing. It is Boston marathon. 💛💙🦄💛💙🦄

  • Trainingsmüde. Irgendwie unmotiviert. Keine Lust, noch 10 Tage zu warten. Hinzu kommt, dass mein Kopf gerade durchdreht und sich ein Zipperlein nach dem nächsten einredet. Vom Schienbeinkantensydrom über Ermüdungsbruch bis hin zu Schleimbeutelentzündung habe ich mir alle möglichen orthopädischen Probleme selbst diagnostiziert, natürlich habe ich zusätzlich noch die Megapanik, mir kurz vor Hamburg irgendeine Krankheit einzufangen. Sooo bescheuert! Aber so ist das eben, wenn man monatelang auf einen einzigen Lauf trainiert hat und eigentlich alles spitze läuft. Ich kann mir einfach nicht vorstellen, dass wirklich gerade alles gut ist. Hoffentlich beschwöre ich mit diesem Mist nicht noch was herauf, was eigentlich gar nicht ist - self-fulfilling-prophecy-mäßig🤨. Nein, es bleibt jetzt bitte einfach alles heile und gut, und der Kopf gibt bitte Ruhe! Kennt ihr solche Spinnereien, oder seid ihr immer total optimistisch? ---

As we know the training running up to Boston wasn't ideal and I kept asking why.. Now I know!
If I had of been trained, ready to go out for a pb and BQ,  I would have gone out hard (and died in the heat), it would have ended up like London last year. Instead it was the most incredible experience and I got to enjoy every minute of the 26.2. (Thank you injury) EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. You might have to wait to find out what the reason is. 
It was pouring down on Monday morning, thunder and lightning and I seriously questioned if I should even bother, on Sunday night I was feverish, sore throat, felt like 💩 this has never happened before a race. On Monday I felt the same.
Anyhoo got to the school bus, to take me to the athletes village in Hopkinton.
I met Vicky and Adelle, we laughed so much on that long journey, (driving 26.2 miles is quite a distance, it doesn't seem that bad running it 🤣) the nerves settled a bit but I was still questioning if I'd finish.
It's one thing having a time goal but it's another thing questioning if you'd finish. Longest run was 15 miles in January and another half, 2 weeks ago. The easier part of the marathon is the first half!
Porta stop, then we headed to the corrals.

Chasing waves like a mermaid! I play this silly game when I do speed intervals on the beach. I basically race the waves and try to beat them before they crash... sometimes I win...sometimes I lose and sometimes I just get totally SOAKED!•

Woke up while the moon was still out and ran until the sun came out! So grateful for this day... so many changes are happening in my life right now and I finally feel like I’m on the right path and every decision I have made has brought me right here! Grateful for that! When you feel like you are going through a storm... push on... stay strong... self reflect and know exactly who you are and what you want... be stubborn and NEVER GIVE UP ON YOU... I promise... YOU WILL get through it. He never takes us through anything we can’t handle... I consider these times “lessons”... I have learned SOOOO MANY LESSONS about life... about people... and about situations.  Knowledge is POWER! #justJEN #caboLIFE #runningwiththeCOOLKIDS

  • Tempo run day, and also trying to train myself to run with a water bottle in hand, because this marathon has water stations super spread out! Anyone else struggle with running with a backpack, vest or water bottle in hand!? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Warm up was 9:50 pace for 10 minutes⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tempo was 8:34 pace for 5 minutes then 8 minute pace for another 5 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Cool down was a 9:50 pace for 10 minutes! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Felt really good getting down into 8 for part of the tempo, definitely a confidence boost going into all this, and a thing to remember when the long hard runs come!

  • Happy to report that the knee is doing great! I got in 9 beautiful miles at the track last night. 80 degrees with a nice breeze equals my favorite running weather! I loved this workout so much. It made the miles fly by!

  • Happy to report that the knee is doing great! I got in 9 beautiful miles at the track last night. 80 degrees with a nice breeze equals my favorite running weather! I loved this workout so much. It made the miles fly by!
