This is my favourite nonscale victory and it will always be! At 25 stone 6 pounds, 62" waist and nearly 30" inch thighs, it's safe to say it was a bit difficult to walk through the turnstiles. When I tried to get through them the first time I had to breathe in and turned to the side so much and barely got through whilst my boyfriend walked through no issues.
It felt embarrassing especially when it's intended use is for disabled access and pushchairs, I was neither of those and I felt stupid doing it and upset that I couldn't get through a 'normal' person entrance.
But. That turnstile entrance doesn't make me any less worthy than a thinner person.
I wasn't going to let some metal stop me in my tracks, I wanted this, I wanted that entrance and I wanted to walk through it.
Now almost half my waist size and half my bodyweight I can't help but having a spring in my step and a big smile on my face that I can walk through it! No breathing in, no stepping through sideways... I can walk through💓
When the disabled access doors are all open to let people out in the evening, I STILL walk through those turnstiles, because I made that happen, I changed myself to help me get through them💃

In the words of Cher from Clueless, “Not a total Betty but a vast improvement.” The truth is this little corner still isn’t done, but as crazy making as renovating can be, you have to take time to acknowledge the improvements you’ve made. And look at those before and afters cause there is little in this process that brings me more joy than before and afters.. this is a mini bonus room in our house that we use as Matt’s tiny home version of an office. It’s mini but awesome (well getting more awesome). Scored the chair and planters on FB marketplace which cost a total of $45 🙌. Here’s hoping those plants can survive in this corner 😬

Carbs don’t make you fat. Fat doesn’t make you fat. And protein doesn’t magically give you muscles.
Bread doesn’t make you fat. Nor does bacon, chocolate, pizza, donuts or burgers. What makes you fat is eating in a calorie surplus - eating too much of these foods and going into a calorie surplus is the reason you won’t lose body fat. Eating one piece of chocolate that fits into your macros won’t have a negative effect on your fat loss goals. If anything, this may help curb your craving and stop a binge on the weekend.
So the key message here is: don’t cut out food groups or food types. Eat within your boundaries. Food is fuel. Carbohydrates provide your body with energy to train and live day-to-day life efficiently. Fats are necessary for hormone production. Many people go on low-carb or low-fat diets, which can be detrimental if these get too low. Focus on a balanced lifestyle and find a “diet” which works for you (one that you can stick to and enjoy for the rest of your life).
