..I made excuses for and built people up in my mind when I already saw who they were. I gave the benefit of the doubt to those I almost certainly knew would disappoint me; and they did. I showed up for people who were weak as hell and nowhere to be found when I needed someone. What was wrong or missing for me at the time that I would settle and tolerate what I did..? Some days I’m so angry at myself for all the wasted time, energy and for feeling like they got the best of me. But that’s not true; getting the best of me would be still having me in their life. Even though they were painful, I’m thankful for the lessons. Ich den letzten Tagen habe ich über meine Versprechungen nachgedacht. Das ich einige nicht mehr halten will und werde. Da diese Menschen ihre Versprechen nie gehalten haben und mein Vertrauen nicht wertgeschätz haben. Natürlich hat man mein Vertrauen auch ausgenutz und das ich dadurch verletzt bin. Deswegen habe ich keinen Grund mehr meine Worte zu halten auch wenn sie ernst gemeint waren und ich sie niemals gebrochen hätte. Doch viele dieser Versprechen greifen auf mein Leben ein. Sie schränken mich ein. Normalerweise nehme ich eine Entscheidung nicht zurück. Wieso soll ich jemanden mein Wort halten, der mir alles vorgespielt hat. Noch dazu schadet es mir es zu tun. In diesem Punkt muss ich ehrlich zu mir sein, dass es keinen Sinn und keinen Wert hat weiterhin versprechungen für diese Menschen zu halten. Es wird andere Menschen geben die den Wert dahinter verstehen werden und es sich lohnen wird es zu tun. Damit will ich nicht sagen das ich es bereue meine Versprechungen gegeben zu haben. Es war zu dem Zeitpunkt die Richtige Entscheidung. Ich bin einfach Stolz auf mich das ich ein Stück näher zu meinem Ziel gekommen bin wer ich sein will.

2 Olympians, 2 awesome ladies .. and a blonde!!! What a day at @londonaquaticcentre Continually grateful for the opportunities I am being given.. Today we facilitated the final of the @better_uk National Swimming Teacher Of the Year...out of 700 nominations, 6 regional winners travelled to LAC from the far corners of the UK including Belfast & Cardiff. I was lucky enough to be on the judging panel representing GLL. It was really tough picking an overall winner out of such brilliant swim teachers but we got there & awarded it to a lovely teacher who makes a huge positive impact on the pool she works at. .
