I had a childhood cat - a siamese named after Sheena E - that was hit by a car twice, hung from the garage door by her collar accidentally, hit in the head with a zinging line drive baseball, and went through the fan belt of our car. She was invincible until I came home one day to find she had been hit by a car again and didn’t win. Whoever hit her was kind enough to move her off the road and onto a patch of snow.

In 2006 I had a terrible back pain. It got so bad I went to the doctor who gave me antibiotics for a UTI. 24 hours later I was in the ER with a 104 fever and vomiting. They couldn’t figure it out until an MRI revealed I had a severely abscessed kidney (a TOTALLY rare thing). They started pumping me full of antibiotics but were making plans to remove my kidney. FORTUNATELY, antibiotics started working and I am happy to report I have both kidneys.

It’s no secret that I love ice cream. Trips to Dairy Queen were a huge treat and one particular grade school afternoon I ordered a peanut buster bar. As I took a bite of frozen peanut and fudge a tooth came out. I was HORRIFIED and have never eaten a peanut buster bar since. I think I’ll fix that soon!

The “haircut story”- oh boy. Preface: College years weren’t my best. One night, in a particularly emotionally fragile state, I decided that cutting all my hair would be a good idea. It wasn’t. Not only was it a horrible haircut; but, I accidentally went WAY too short on the top of my head and had a clump on hairs that stood STRAIGHT UP for a very long time.

Airport pet peeves. Trust me, there are many...but I’ll share my biggest one. Why..WHY must everyone stand as close to the baggage claim carousel as possible? Chill out. Stand back. When you see your bag, then approach. But stay back until then so you aren’t a jerk to those who are trying to get their bag. I promise you won’t get out any faster by hovering protectively next to the carousel. End rant.

Yes, I advocate the flexible dieting approach and I really believe that rigid diet plans that don't involve the foods you like AT ALL, don't really work in the long run. But I also don't mean that calories are all that matter. How nutritious your food is, the macros & micros as per your needs do play a very important role and eating more nutrition rich food is way too important for your overall health. 
However, if 20% of your diet consisted the so called "bad food" which infact is just food thats demonized because of its nutritional value - it won't hamper your progress by any means. You just need to adjust this in your diet or consume it once in a while. 
This not only would improve your relationship with food but also help you understand that "clean eating" is NOT the only way to improve body composition and lose fat. No food is inherently fattening or bad, it's all about your approach and mindset.🙌
