  • For followers of Jesus, knowing the bible is such an important component of learning what it means to follow Jesus.
.
But knowing what's in the bible isn't an end unto itself. It's a means to the end of us looking for like Jesus. It's the means to the end of our lives being transformed and renewed by God's Spirit.
.
Jesus didn't save us so that we could just sit around and talk about how saved we are. He saved us so that we could be transformed and set on his mission to make his good news known.

  • “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭MSG‬‬ #TheSacredWord #FearNot #Prayer #TrustGod #Wisdom #Love #Truth #BibleVerse #VerseOfTheDay

  • I sat with a couple of women who have kids of different ages and we talked about social media quite a bit, and the pretty pictures that don’t represent real life.
I wanted to jump on here and remind you that this is social media. An avenue to share beauty or consumerism or hate or really anything you want.
Here is what I want to share: there is beauty in all our lives, in the reverberate reflection of The Creator of it all.
There is hope and promise in your pain.
There is laughter and fun to be had in the mundane.
Christ is our hope, and he loves the messiest among us (like me). I will post pretty pictures on here to makes you smile. But I will also show up in stories and show you every day, no makeup, adult acne, struggle bus that is also my life. There are beautiful moments and hard moments and messy moments for us all.
Let’s just have the courage to show up and be ourselves, mess and beauty and all. ❤️

  • “And I will give you a new heart,
and a new spirit I will put within you.
And I will remove the heart of stone
from your flesh and give you
a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel‬ ‭36:26‬ ‭
.

Sometimes having a soft & loving heart can be a curse, you care too much for others and you always end up getting hurt. You’re always willing to help, but when you’re the one in need nobody seems to care. .

But having a soft heart is better than having a heart of stone that doesn’t feel anything anymore. A calloused heart tired of feeling hurt that it chose not to care anymore. .

When we have Jesus in our hearts we certainly don’t have a heart of stone, if we truly love Him we would be more like Him. A compassionate & loving God who loves despite being hated and mocked. May we ask the Holy Spirit to purify our hearts, to change our hearts of stone into real hearts that love and care for others no matter how they are treated.

  • *Quick Testimony* I just want to tell you God truly cares about the desires of your heart. When I got my job, I didn’t have any appropriate shoes to wear to work. I went to Walmart and found a pair of $7 flats.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After a month, those same shoes were starting to wear and tear. I began to look for new ones. I found some, they were $70 and I didn’t want to splurge.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Last night, I kept repeating Philippians 4:19 (even inserting my name in the scripture) but not really praying for the shoes. Today, I decided to run errands with my sister in law and I found a pair of shoes. The best part though.... THEY WERE ONLY $5. God is good y’all and yes he even cares about a pair of shoes (swipe to see) 🤗 #imnottooboogieforwalmart

  • Okay guys and girls. This is a tough one. How can you be alive and dead?
Have you ever been with your family, but you aren't really there? Maybe because you are upset, mad, or just wanting to be somewhere else?

Some times at work I'm asked if I'm here or not. "My answer is, "Physically yes, mentally no." You could say I'm dead inside, because I want to be somewhere else. While I'm here, I'm doing what needs to be done, but my heart isn't here.

Now, when I'm all in and my heart is in it, everyone at work can see it. Getting lots done while I've got energy to burn. Which of these times do you think people want to be around me?

So if the church is dead, physically there but not focused on God. Or, the church is alive and God is at the center of all they do, (energy to burn because their hearts are in it)... Which one of those would you want to be at?

So, my question for you is, what do people see in you? Are you in it just to do what you're told, wishing you were somewhere else? Or, are you alive in Christ, and your heart is alive with His Word?

How do you want to be seen?

  • Week 8 of #wordstoextend I am so glad that I have been able to share all of this so far. This week the word is Forgiveness. Forgiveness is defined as “to cease to feel resentment against; to give up resentment of or claim to requital of”. My Bible plan today actually went over the topic of forgiveness. It explained that sometimes we tend to hold on to it instead of simply letting go, this gives you freedom over it. It allows you to give a lot more kindness to those around you. This is what Mark 11:25 says about forgiveness “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."

  • Matthew 3:8

This is what we should all be saying and doing - both with ourselves and our brothers and sisters in Christ - in order to both sift through the wheat and the chaft of our "organizations" and to keep each other in check.

Cain asked...believe it or not...God (I don't wanna think about talking to God like this) he says: Am I my brother's keeper?

The answer is a loud, curt, resounding "Yes! Yes you are your brother's keeper; yes! You are your sister's keeper." If that was not true, why must the body of Christ "minister to itself." [Ephesians 4:12, 4:25] [2 Thessalonians 4:18] as well as many others.

Always remember your brothers and sisters, but DON'T forget about yoursleves, in your individual walk with God: Philippians 2:12
So that, my beloved, as ye always obey, not as in my presence only, buy now much more in my absence, with fear and trembling your own salvation work out,

Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, and drive out demons in Your name, and perform many miracles in Your name?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Get away from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’”
Matthew 7:21‭-‬23 TLV
