Beautiful in colour. It was closed initially. The wine opened to display aromas of caramel, spice, tabacco & black fruits. On palate, lovely acidity. Elegant with a sweet finish. Sublime. I had this in half bottle a few months ago and it moved me then as it has moved me now. Monumental. What a treat.

So this whole weekend was fun went to Austin to go see my dad and celebrate him turning 52 🎉🎁🎂 whoop and in doing that we just had a fun time went to a fancy restaurant then celebrated National ice cream day and other cool stuff it was fun while it lasted now being back home my mom and I really don’t know when we’ll get to see him again until his job there is over. #birthdays#austintexas
2007. St. Bernard Parish. Just on the other side of the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans. This is me helping out at a home rebuild. Not having a clue what I was doing going in but learning enough to do something worthwhile and contribute. Baggy pants and all.
12 years later, on my birthday, I sit here looking back on that experience and so many like it, grateful for the role it has played in my life.
My time volunteering in New Orleans taught me the meaning of fulfillment.
All my experiences have taught me something that makes me the person I am today.
I woke up today with a small list of things to do in the morning and then urgency to do something special for my birthday.
What I did instead was spend the afternoon and evening with myself. Celebrating myself and my experiences and how much they've helped me.
I couldn't have asked for a better second half of my day.
How are you celebrating you?
When will you make time to do that again?
