Love Ssega is the epitome of a polymath, from being a founding member of Clean Bandits whilst still at Cambridge, Love Ssega can be recognised in the “Mozart’s House” video, which he wrote, co-produced and went onto perform on Jools Holland and Glastonbury in front of 45,000 people.
Choosing to fulfil his academic ambitions instead, Love Ssega stepped down from the band to pursue a PhD in Chemical Engineering.
He later re-entered the music scene, and has since charted a successful solo career with a live band releasing his EP Emancipation in 2018.
His sound has been described as a “vibrant mix of New Wave, 80’s Hip Hop and NYC disco into smart modern pop’. Love Ssega has performed as far as Japan, China and South Korea. .
He’s also had separate pieces of music performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra and BBC Concert Orchestra. In 2019, he was Musician in Residence for the British Council in China and has been played on Radio 1 by Annie Mac and BBC 6 Music by Lauren Laverne. .
