We have this distorted belief that by truly hating ourselves, we’ll end up loving ourselves.

You have to choose yourself now, in every moment.

You have to love yourself when you’re absolutely slaying a makeup look, and when your face is covered in zit cream.

You have to love your legs when they’re soft, and when they’re toned.

You have to love it all.

  • Soooo ready for a fresh week, I’ve been 50/50 on plan since swapping back to 💙, just easing myself back into things and not putting to much pressure on myself. So I’m happy with my result. But this week my goal is to TRACK TRACK TRACK! I’ve done a meal plan and the food shop is done 🤩 so let’s have a really REALLY good week 💪🏼

  • Hands are so weird

I love my hands even though they look totally witchy. I’ve loved using them LOTS recently to write, to give yoga adjustments or to transmit healing energy from the universe (via my breath and body obvs) to other people. I also make sure to direct that healing energy prescriptively back to me from time to time, cos I can.

I’ve been lucky to spend a considerable amount of time in forward bends and downward dog gazing down at them this month. I also use them to gesticulate wildly as I talk and to peel bananas among other important things.

They often tingle and throb. Sometimes if left unchecked  electric energy shoots right up into my arms like sparkly cobwebs til I shake them for a bit.

I had a beautiful myofascial release treatment last week and my wonderful therapist released all the stored energy with loud pops and crackles! She also showed me how to do it myself which has been the biggest gift. 
_
My hands are so WRINKLY. Since I was a kid they’ve looked like they belong to an 80 year old woman. A friend once described them as looking like a ‘ thin plastic bag full of water that has been slowly emptied’ 😂it’s only been over recent years that I discovered other people who work with energy or who have an awareness of their ancestral or cosmic lives also have the same types of crazy lines etched across their palms (and remarkably little hand fat! - strange huh?).

I guess it must come with the territory 😂. So I’m sharing my gratitude for hands today. Yours and mine.

  • I’m really self conscious of people watching me eat .... so here’s a video of me eating because f**k that !! This stupid eating disorder rule stops me from doing so much ! I don’t know why but I get so embarrassed if people see me eat. I feel judged almost like people will think “why is she eating ? She’s too fat to eat, she shouldn’t be eating that” those are the honest thoughts that go through my head ! But let’s be honest people probably don’t think that and if they do then they are an absolute a**hole so we shouldn’t care what they think anyway!!! This fear stops me going out with friends, it stops me getting the food I really want and at the age of 21 I’ve never been on a date because I can’t stand the thought of a guy seeing me eat !?!? WTF Jessie that’s crazy !?!? Everyone needs food it’s a fact of life, and even beyond that we all deserve to enjoy it ! Not just eat because we have to but eat because it’s yummy, it’s social and fun. Anorexia hates people seeing me eat so stuff that, here’s me eating !!! And guess what it was freakin delicious !!! 🤙🏻 Go and eat the food you want because you bloody well deserve it !!!!! Love and light Jessie😊💕☀️

  • I’m not gonna lie, I get really nervous posting about my sexuality. I’ve received criticism from my family saying that it will push people away and nobody will want to sit next to me and know how to be around me. I get anxious. I love girls but that’s still not looked upon favourably by a lot of people in this day and age. I don’t want to be afraid of loving who I love. I’m still the same person. It just means I love and see a future with those of the same sex.

I posted about this idea a little while ago and it did hit a nerve with some. I know I’m not the only one who can’t remember if I recurved a compliment last week, but I definitely remember that kid who called me dumb in year 4 😂🤦🏽‍♀️ and the ex who called me fat.... and the other pointless criticism over the years.
.
But - I’ve put work in over the last couple of years. You see, there are things we can do to create a bit of a “shield” against the nasty or hurtful things people say. I just wanted to share a few points:
.
1️⃣ Take the goddam compliment! Stop deflecting and shutting down the kind things people say. When we say “omg no I’m not (pretty/smart/loveable/funny)” our brains believe it. Our brains listen to the words we say, and when we hear negative self talk more than the positive, you better believe you are setting yourself up to be hit real hard by criticism.

2️⃣ Compliment others! Whether in person or online, whether it is strangers or people you love. Create a cycle of positivity, your brain is still listening to the beautiful words you say, even if you are saying them about others. Engage in more positive and kind conversations.
.
3️⃣ Know that YOUR opinion is the only one that matters. You know yourself better than anyone else. Generally when people try to put you down it is a reflection of how THEY feel about THEMSELVES and has literally nothing to do with you.
.
4️⃣ Practice positive self talk. When someone says a nasty comment, avoid replaying that scenario or re-reading the text (easier said than done). For every nasty thing that is said, repeat the opposite over and over. Reinforce and create positive affirmations “I am SMART, I am BEAUTIFUL, my imperfections make me UNIQUE, I am worthy of LOVE”.

There is nothing wrong with you for being drawn to the negative, that is what humans a naturally wired to do. You’re not weird for doing so. I hope these tips do help a little - TAG someone who may need to read these!

  • How do you spend the first 20 mins of your day? 
What thoughts do you allow enter your mind? 
Are your first thoughts I’m so tired I can’t wait to go back to bed? If so all day you are going to feel tired and look forward to going back to bed... It’s not a productive state of mind. 
Do you go on social media and see a post that alters your state from a positive to a negative? Or read emails or text messages? This is influencing how your day unfolds. 
Setting up a morning routine is essential for the effective running of your day. Nail this down and you will have more productivity and feel much better about the day and during the day. 
I know morning is super busy in family households where there is the task of getting all the kids ready fed and out the door. But how about allowing some calm in before this happens? How about focusing on your inner calm first and this will allow you to much more effectively manage the morning. 
For plenty of you sleep is of utmost importance, clinging on to the covers for dear life is the norm and if you wake up even 2 mins before the alarm you better believe you will be going back to sleep for those precious 2mins and even considering getting up 15-30mins earlier is not something you would even entertain. 
However the benefits you will get from just a few mins calm before the morning routine will pay such dividends to you day. It will add energy, vitality and zest for the day. You won’t be feeling so lethargic that all you can think about is getting back to sleep the first chance you get. Starting your day off this way will positively influence not only your day but everyone around you too. 
First thing in the morning getting up just 15 mins earlier. 
1. 5mins meditation 
2. 5mins visualisation 
3. 5 mins journaling ( goals, action steps & three gratitudes ) 
Honestly getting up 15 mins earlier will just become your new normal but add so much to your life and your day. 
When I was teaching and running my business and prepping for a show I used to: 
Get up at 4.45am do mindset work, Gym, Work (school) , Gym, Food prep, Client work, shower & bed. 
It can be done. You just need to decide if it’s important to you ❤️

See that girl in the mirror? She hated her self 2 years ago. 5 years ago she was in an abusive relationship mentally & physically. That girl still struggles everyday with the scars it has left in her life, both inside & out. See that girl in the mirror, she used to self harm & have an eating disorder. See that girl in the mirror, she is infertile, unable to have her own child with the man she loves. See that girl in the mirror, yes she is wearing a crop top because why the hell not.  See that girl in the mirror. She fat, she’s round, she’s got a flabby belly but you know what she does have, a heart. A big one at that too! She has a beautiful soul, a banging personality & above all else, she has learnt to laugh negativity in the face, overcome hurdles some could only have nightmares about & looking at her now, she is strong. She is a survivor. She is a warrior. She can be whoever the hell she wants & will do it with grace & class. That girl in the mirror. That girl is me 🖤
