. "Teknologi memang mempermudah segalanya, tetapi kesederhanaan lebih efektif dalam menggalang solidaritas antar manusia, yakni dengan mengandalkan metode bahu-membahu untuk memperoleh solusi permasalahan."
Quotenya cocok banget buat zaman sekarang.

Oh halo!

This novel is really cool, i swear!
.
I love you kak @nellaneva94.

  • Review + aesthetic for #TheLastTimeILied by @riley.sager. Rated 4/5. ⁣
⁣
I've now read all three of Riley Sager's books! While not as great as Lock Every Door (which will be hard to beat), I really liked this one too. Riley Sager is an expert at combining unique settings with disturbing and unpredictable plot lines. This story takes place at a summer camp, following two summers affecting one character. I felt that many of the supporting characters were one-dimensional, but I was fully invested in the plot and was surprised by the final twist. ⁣Because of the setting and fast pace, this is the perfect summer thriller! ⁣

  • I started this book a month ago and I've just been able to finish half of it.
This book is unlike any other I've read. It's Murakami's advent into journalism.
In an attack that killed 13 and sickened and traumatized thousands, the supposedly peace-seeking cult Aum Shinrikyo had turned violently against Japanese society.
While the media coverage focused so much on the perpetrators of the attack, Murakami felt obligated to draw attention to the victims. Thus, underground came into being. It's a collection of interviews of victims and it makes us think that how far we have come as a society.
Excited to read ahead, but this book has a gripping darkness surrounding it that I can only read it in parts.

  • Hi guys! I hope everyone is having a great weekend 😊 I’ve spent most of the day watching movies. I read a bit of A Reaper At The Gates earlier but for some reason I just can’t get into it??? Nothing to do with the book (which I LOVE so far, Sabaa Tahir is so talented), I just haven’t really been reading that much these past few days! Hopefully I’ll get some done tomorrow, because I’m so excited to see what happens next in this series.
.
.
Look at this piece of my new bookshelf! It’s organized by colour! This is part of the blue section! Appreciate it! I couldn’t resist putting The Boy Who Steals Houses on a pedestal because it’s my heart and soul 😂❤️
.
.
I was tagged by @intotheworldofbooks to do the #3bookishthings tag! Thank you, here it is ♥️
.
.
📜 3 favourite authors: At the moment? Leigh Bardugo, Sabaa Tahir, and Brandon Sanderson! 💗
🎟 3 weird things to use as bookmarks: I often use my phone, stickynotes, and playing cards 🙃
🕺🏼 3 characters you love: I love Kaladin from the Stormlight Archive books, Helene from An Ember in the Ashes, and Literally All Six Crows from Six of Crows (anyone who wants to try to make me choose can leave right now 😁)
.
.
#QOTD: favourite book-to-movie adaptation? I love Harry Potter ♥️♥️

  • 👑Would you read the sequel of a book you didn’t really enjoy?.
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 .
.
It’s my first book for the Book Junkie Trials 24hr readathon!.
.
This follows our protagonist, Wilhelmina, the former heir to the throne of her homeland. Her kingdom was conquered is now part of Osprey, a gang of thieves. Taking on the identity of a noble from a fallen kingdom, her and Melanie infiltrate the Skyvale palace.
.
.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve read books exactly like this before. Princess has her throne stolen and parents killed. With her kingdom now conquered, said princess bands with a group of ‘rebels’ or in this case, orphans, in order to try and take back her throne.
.
What I considered to be the most exciting thing about this novel was what I wished was explored a bit more. The Ospreys, a group of orphan royalty, were written about a bit in the beginning and kind of disappeared throughout the book. .
Another aspect I loved was the masked vigilante named The Black Knife. The masked hero that goes around trying to save people around him. The banter between him and the main character, Wilhelmina, had my dying!
Although I’m not a fan of contemporary, I absolutely love romance in fantasy books (this has a little bit which is perfect for me) because the stakes are higher and events may get in the way. .
.
Overall it was a solid book, not my favorite but also not my most hated. The ending was rather lackluster but the loose ends are what’s going to push me towards the second book.
