  • Review of “Raise Your Game” by @alansteinjr 📖
•
“Raise Your Game” by Allen Stein Jr is absolutely fantastic!! Alan Stein Jr. is a performance coach and world-renowned speaker who has spent over 15 years working with and coaching some of the best basketball players on the planet! In this book he shows how all of the characteristics of the top performing players can apply to business and entrepreneurs as well.
•
First of all, it is broken down into three parts made up of 5 chapters each; Player, Coach and Team. Each chapter is made up of the five most important characteristics that form the part. I really like this way of setting the book out, as it allows anyone to hone in on the part that most suits them as well as being easy to dip in and out of on a regular basis to keep you on track. It’s definitely a book I’d want to keep on me and re-read sections as and when! •
Each chapter is broken down into its essence, like in “The ONE Thing” by Gary Keller. The simplest characteristics that makes up each part that the book talks about. It can usually be broken down into basics and that’s just what Alan Stein Jr does here. It is also full of hundreds of examples of where they apply and illustrate how effective using them all in combination can be.
•
Favourite quotes:
- “Those who see failures as walls will do nothing to get past them. Those who see them as doors will do the work to get them open”
- “People follow examples, not advice”
- “Character is how you behave when no one else is watching you”
•
Ratings:
- Ease of reading - 9.5/10
- Enjoyability - 9/10
- Educational - 8/10
- Recommend to a friend - 10/10
- Life changing - 9/10
•
As you can see I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it if you want to “Raise Your Game” and perform at your best! 💯
•
Who wants to Raise Their Game too? 🙌🏼

A relatable modern-day love story that precisely defines the blurred lines between - love, friendship, and social media ❤️

.
[ Review - The Things We Do for Love by Raunak Agarwal is a typical story that explores the blurred line between love and friendship that teenagers/adults often run into. The story encompasses the lives of Rudra, Ruhani and Kabir and towards the later part we get to see a glimpse of Tania who plays an important role but, I would essentially like to call this a love triangle as we only get to see Tania when the story demands of her.
.
Ruhani’s confused emotions is the main plot of the story and as she tries to figure out her feelings for Rudra, her best friend and Kabir, her boyfriend we get to see how she is further sucked into the quicksand called love. I would call the author’s writing style rather practical as I could completely visualize certain events that could happen in real relationships.
.
The plot was quite decent and had me turning the pages and that cliffhanger was absolutely nail biting and completely took me by surprise.
.
This book is a brilliant example of how social media affects people and has a pivotal role in modern relationships. - Gayatri ]

This book has now become the fastest selling 'Romantic Suspense' novel of 2019 🌈

🌌
Synopsis:
A witch. A murder. A curse…

Beneath the murky waters of the lake, an ancient being slumbers, and Brygida is its servant. Kept sheltered in the woods by her mothers from the nearby village, Brygida has never had so much as a friend—until the day she meets a charming stranger painting by the lake. He invites her to the village’s harvest feast, but her taste of the forbidden ends with a murder.

Called into service for the first time, Brygida must take up her ancestral duty as Reaper of Death and solve the murder within three days. If she brings the murderer to the lake on the third day, the being she serves will be sated. If she fails, Brygida herself will be drawn beneath the murky waters, and the village massacred. There’s only one problem: the main suspect is her charming painter, Kaspian.

As Brygida investigates, the dangers are many and answers few. The village and her family stand against her, and with time running short, the lake demands a price. Brygida believes Kaspian is innocent, but can she stake her life on it, when failure means condemning the rest of the village, and being dragged into the deep...? Find out what lurks beneath the lake in FEAST OF THE MOTHER, the first entry in a romantic dark fantasy series inspired by Slavic mythology and folklore, sure to please fans of Juliet Marillier’s Blackthorn & Grim series and Naomi Novik’s Uprooted.
