WHY SO MANY DIETS FAIL.
The reality is, you don’t just eat for hunger.
I don’t just eat for hunger.
None of us do.
It’s a part of culture, celebration, comfort, family, boredom, or to soothe/cope with unpleasant emotions.
Now, eating for emotional reasons isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s normal. It’s part of life.
It’s when it becomes a primary mode of coping with your emotions that it starts to become an issue. When your first impulse is to reach for food instead of feeling the uncomfortable emotion or situation that is arising.
If you struggle with emotional eating, more times than not, you’re probably using food to try and satisfy a or numb an emotional hunger or need.
There are a few key differences between emotional and real hunger that are important to clue into. Particularly because if you have chronically dieted, have disordered eating, or an eating disorder, it can be hard to know what real hunger is at times.
Emotional hunger tends to come on suddenly and will generally feel like you’re being overwhelmed with a need for a specific foods (often carb heavy). Physical hunger is a more gradual build and the urge to eat is less specific and intense.
Emotional hunger as said above is generally more specific and associated with “comfort” foods. Often, I have clients who habitually reach for foods they were comforted by as a kid. Carb heavy, sugary, fatty foods provide an instant rush and in that moment where the craving is most intense, it seems like nothing else will help.
Emotional hunger generally leads to larger portions being eating much more quickly and almost without control or thought. The emotional hunger tends to linger and continue on past the point of feeling full whereas a physical hunger is satisfied when the stomach is full.
If you struggle with emotional eating, reach out! I would love to support you on your journey♥️.

“The biggest challenge is to stay focused. It's to have the discipline when there are so many competing things”. Alexa Hirschfeld.
This is the inspection of the Royal Guards prior to the changing of the guards. What I was amazed about was their discipline. No matter what was going on around them they never lost their focus on the job at hand. We should do the same in our personal life and running our business.
It's that time again! #femalefeaturefriday is back with the lovely ladies behind @shoplolaandlina, Carolyn and Lauren.
This interview is full of helpful small business advice. So head over to the blog to read more!!
As a token of our appreciation for our fabulous management team (who happen to all be strong, hard-working boss babes) today, we highlight Heather in Part 1 of 3 in our “Boss Babe” series:
Q: What is your name?
A: Heather Waltz
Q: What is your job title and what are your main responsibilities?
A: Accounts Manager, I oversee the Accounting Department and handle all of Bulldog Adjusters, Inc. income as well as issue payments to our clients and/or any expenses for the company.
Q: Who’s your biggest inspiration?
A: My biggest inspiration is my three children.
Q: Why is Bulldog Adjusters a good fit for you?
A: Bulldog Adjusters, Inc. has been a good fit for me not only because of the owners and employees but also the clients have taught me to remain humble, always extend a helping hand and reach for the sky, the sky is the limit. I’m really excited to see the growth of what is to come.
Q: Over the last ten years Bulldog Adjusters has grown from a group of 6 to a team of 50, why do you think that is?
A: I believe we’ve grown so quickly because we have a solid foundation to build on. Aaron and Vince have these visions that have become a reality. They continue to push us and encourage us every day to be better managers and to be more successful, and through them, I’ve learned to do that with my own department.
Q: If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?
A: I would compare myself to an Elephant. Elephants are smart, strong, gentle and nurturing.
Q: What advice do you want to pass on to the future girl bosses?
A: Never stop looking for opportunities to help yourself grow, push yourself to be better, be bolder and be braver. Support other boss babes!

What you want the most won’t happen by itself. There’s some action that has to be involved and sometimes that requires you to keep moving (momentum) on a Friday. Let your momentum PUSH you where it needs too.

“I’m scared of starting from the bottom.”⠀
When you are in your 30s and realizing that you want to shift those career gears, the thinking you will have to start at the bottom basically kills whatever dreams you had of making a change. 😩
After all, girl has BILLS now. There is zero flexibility to take a entry level salary. So dreaming big about a career in a new field that is fulfilling AND actually pays is something that just seems so far away.⠀
Except it isn’t. ⠀
Know this friend, making a career change does NOT mean starting over. YOU have years of work experience under your belt. YOU have strengths and skills that some organization out there is just DYING to have. ⠀
So let’s just be done with the thinking that making a career change means starting over. Let’s change the narrative to:⠀
👉Making a career change means HAPPINESS.⠀
👉Making a career change means FULFILLMENT.⠀
👉Making a career change means MAKING 💵THAT 💵MONEY.⠀
I like the sound of that much better. Who is with me? 💪
