Got out to Beached Whale yesterday, the weather was too good not to. Made progress, but couldn’t send it. I can feel the first move stick no matter what, just need to hit it slowly enough to make space for my right hand. I need to improve the strength of my fingers on smaller holds and the way that translates to staying tight enough to match on the in-cut, crimpy ‘v’ shaped edge. I also need to focus hard on pushing with my left toe while I move through that sequence to keep my body tension. One big piece I need to train is the explosion off the matched crimp. The feet are very low, the wall is steep, and the top is slopey.
I love this project even if it is a strange little lowball. #bouldering#newenglandbouldering#climbing#climbingismypassion#rockclimbing#outdoorclimbing#crimps#power#training#focus#dedication#project#healthandwellness#climbing_lovers
Boulder - Beached Whale, V6, Hammond Pond, MA
I was equally surprised and happy to qualify for the semifinal at the StudioBloc Masters! It was a tough round tho, complexity and level on each bloc so high that it was impossible for me to do anything with the taped finger🥵. Definitely worries me, but the quali round was cool nevertheless and I’m happy I came and did my best. @tomahawkmediacom photo thank u
Glen yesterday was amazing! Sent Nogoko V7 with my intermittent crimp beta. Also sent Orient Express and Closed Eye Visuals.
Loved climbing around a truckload of inspiring people. So many sick sends by amazing strong people! 😀
Thanks Glen master @szumilas for the guidance and @ratulmehta for filming 🤗 What should I try next?
More #bouldering from this past weekend featuring citizens of Bitchtown and some airbornes. (I can't help feel my samsung phone photos sometimes look like the same quality as my old webcam from 15 years ago...?)
