Today, we celebrated Forest Thanksgiving with our T/Th friends. We shared a lovely fire cooked meal and remembered what we are grateful for. Breaking bread together is one of the most ancient forms of expressing human connection and friendship. At Woodsong, we intentionally sit around a table that allows each child to look into one another's eyes- a reflection of common worth and equal human value. Every child belongs and is worthy of being a part of our community. This is an important piece of our school culture- to foster a welcoming place for children to be their most authentic selves.
Woodsong parents joined us to share music, play in the forest, and make fantastic leaf crowns. We are truly grateful to belong to a school community like this! #belonging#buildingcommunity#breakingbread#outdoorcooking#kidsoutdoors#outdoorfamilies#nature#leafcrowns#outsidefun#thanksgiving
Ms Aiah and a small group of Year 4, Year 5 & Year 6 students went to Markhiya Primary School to compete in the Qatar E-Nature Competition.
4 schools were competing for a place in the semifinals, we were tied 2-2-2-0 but then on the 15th and final question one for the other school scored 3!. EMS students were praised by the organisers for the team spirit and support for all the competitors; what a wonderful team effort-well done!
look, a common wormview of a building that might look aesthetic.

Our second spray booth is now hooked up! Thank you David Armstrong and our facility crew for making this happen. They powered through this weekend and made our glaze area come together. Thank you!
Finally able to start working on this project, it's been quite a journey getting control and smoothing out very rough relationships with the HOA and neighbors. The previous owner left a huge web of turmoil that Brian's been masterfully untangling.
Time for a major rehab starting w/yard cleanup, power wash, security system, new hardware, and most importantly re-building relationships.
What if there was a We Love LB led Neighborhood Center in our city?
What if it was a place for connection between young and old. A place where our differences were seen as gifts to be celebrated. A place where we belong. A place where we are listened to. A place where we are loved. This is one of We Love LB’s future dreams. The purpose of community is community. If you share this beautiful dream, think about supporting this big dream financially or if you are gifted with property connections, please reach out to us. We need this dream to be a community effort. Email: Info@WeLoveLB.org
Christine is the designer of the We Love LB Neighborhood Center. She is from CSULB and did a beautiful job of capturing our dream: "The main intent of the design is to create a platform for productive conversations between people of different backgrounds and cultures. The concept of this design derives from the city grids and their connections, especially the relationship between solids and voids created from the nearness of buildings and streets that structures create. This idea is projected throughout the building with its own version of solids, voids, and its ribbons of connections."

We believe libraries have the potential to be a place where people of all faiths, cultures and ages can come together to connect to themselves, to each other and to a greater purpose. We love partnering with libraries to help them become greater houses of belonging. During a story project at Doncaster library, a woman came up to one of our staff and said: “‘When I came to this country as a refugee, before I even set up a bank account, I joined my local library… because I knew that if my children had a place they could belong and be welcomed, that we would be ok”

We hit a bit of a reset button this weekend. It looked like a bunch of women coming together and holding each other in safe space. It was total magic. 💙 We’ve learned to stop thinking so much about what’s next and keep our hearts open to allowing it to unfold. The vision is to keep supporting women to live their best lives; and we’re picking up new tools on the daily, thanks to time spent with each other and our amazing community. 🙏🏻 What more is possible? 💞
See this guy? That’s my son @brendan_ballantyne
Know what he’s doing? 🤔
Imagining his near future as he is headed to Lobomba, Swaziland, Africa! "I’m excited to announce that I have accepted an internship offer from Commonwealth Games Canada’s SPORTWorks program, as well as a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship. @qescholars
I will be heading to the Olympafrica Sports Centre in Lobamba, Swaziland for a term spanning May-August this year.
It’s there where I’ll be taking on the role of a SPORTWorks Officer, assisting with the Leaders in Training program and Sport Values 4 Life Project that works in collaboration with the Swaziland Olympic & Commonwealth Games Association.
I can’t wait to get started and experience everything that comes along with this opportunity!" #proudmom #makingadifference #sportsmatter #commonwealthgames #buildingcommunity #mommyisgonnavisitafricathissummer

As famed urban planner Brent Toderian said recently, "The difference is design" when it comes to developments that are widely praised or widely panned.
Other cities are finding ways forward - and, as this commenter points out, so must we! #ygk#BuildingCommunity#SmartGrowth#LetsStartBuilding

Feel like hiding from the week ahead?
The new week can bring new goals and tons of new projects. While that’s exciting, it’s also a lot at once. Whenever I’m feeling the overwhelm that sometimes comes with Monday, I turn to my family, my pup, and my awesome clients, to help get me inspired.
What inspires you, friend?
