  • Rolling Hwy 1, aka the Cabrillo Hwy, northbound to Monterey, 9.2018. Only a few miles north of Hearst Castle.
Have been fortunate to drive this two lane road from Monterey to Los Angeles and back and then south again to LA 3 times in the 356. All within the past 3 years. Definitely a top five road I’ve driven the 356 in.

  • The abandoned Davenport Pier is a photographer’s dream. A bit eerie when no one is around, but not today. I have been here several times before, all during high tide. Today, I got lucky! I trekked my way down a treacherous vertical shale track. One bad move and I could be dead. Okay, I am exaggerating, but it is a dangerous route. Still, this didn’t keep people like me away. Imagine a Milky Way above the pier! And Imagine the setting sun as I sit on the chain swing in my flowy dress. With a click of a remote trigger, I would have a shot of my silhouette. The only thing is, after the sun has set, I won’t be able to see my way back the same path with my myopic eyes. So for now, let it be an imagination until I find a better route in and out.#davenportpier #cabrillohighway #scenicdrive #scenichighway1

  • View (Landscape orientation) from Devil's Slide Trail, Route 1, California. This was captured at the same time I captured another shot I published earlier. Sometimes it's worth capturing both portrait and landscape orientation especially when capturing landscapes. You can then play with each in post processing to crop them to the view you like. Another thing to exercise is when you capture landscapes it doesn't hurt capturing little more than you need. This is true especially in today's era when our cameras have loads of resolution to play with. Even after you crop the picture you shall still have enough resolution left so don't worry about loosing that resolution cropping the picture later on. But if you don't capture extra wide or more in view you might miss it when you get to your picture processing it because you are not going to go back to same location same time to get same light you got then. Route 1, California is a fantastic drive to experience. It is also called Cabrillo Highway. If you google up by that name you shall find enough resources. This is part of Route 1 that goes along pacific ocean. The views on this route are totally heavenly! Many many vista points that you shall probably need few days to explore entire route between San Francisco and Los Angels, if you try and do that. If you are headed down to LA from San Francisco then Devil's Slide Trail is the first time you come across view of Pacific from a substantial height. From here on, it gets better and better. This shot was captured at south parking lot of this trail. Now if you decide to explore different trails along this route then you certainly need a week or two to explore this route. I shall soon try and post more captures along this route. Hope you get to visit this beautiful route and drive along some day. Needless to say you shall take lots of pictures! © Sachin Sawe #devilsslidetrail #devilstrail #route1 #pacificcoast #cabrillohighway #westcoast #california #bigsur #bigsurcoast #bigsurcalifornia #wanderlust #scenic #landscape #landscapes #travel #a7riii #sonya7riii #batis25mm #beach #waves #photooftheday #photooftoday #instadaily #instagood #instalandscape #sonyalpha7riii
