Amazing project bringing modern Brasilian vibes to my hometown of Kingscliff. Thanks to the lovely Kane and Simone for having us in your home.

Death Valley - The first set. More to come!
I don't know what I enjoy more... the adventure or the memory of it. A couple years ago I had this idea to do a photoshoot in Death Valley. I didn't have the skill to shoot what I wanted when the thought first came to me. So I put it on a small shelf in my mind and patiently waited for me to catch up to myself.
That time came late last year. I had put a small bit of money aside then got to work on the logistics. I had never done anything like this so I tried to keep the planning simple. I knew that this trip would teach me a lot and instead of worrying about making it perfect I simply chose to go and do it. And thankfully I was able to convince a few others to join me.
I would need an assistant...Mia stepped up and made time for the couple day trip.
I wanted two full time models... Mariel Gomsrud and Jenny Mitchell both lived in LA and modeled full time. I was excited to meet them and collaborate.
And finally, I wanted a new model, someone local who would appreciate the experience and be willing to learn... Kylie had never done anything like this and was just starting to model and she excitedly said she'd come with.
I had my team, I had my designers, everything was set.
The night before leaving there was a fashion show at FABRIC that I had committed to shooting. I stood at the end of the runway, photographing and smiling at all the wonderful designs that were being showcased.
Then I saw something that made me pause... I remember biting my lip then whispering to myself "wow".... Coming towards me were three of the most unique designs I had ever seen showcased at FABRIC. I had to remind myself to start shooting instead of simply staring at them and the models wearing them.
The show ended. I made my way through the crowd and asked who's designs those were. Someone pointed out a beautiful young designer with short hair. I walked over to her, shook her hand and said... "Hi, My name is Shane Baker. I'm a professional photographer. In a few hours I'm leaving to Death Valley for a fashion shoot and I want to take your designs with me. What do you think?" ****Continued in the comments****

Last month I was in Brussels. I was being your typical tourist, but also the photographer that you all know.
I met a lovely couple at a big townsquare and I asked them if they wanted to pose for project Pixel.
Here is one of the results!
