  • What’s your passion? ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
My entire childhood I used to think that my passion was gymnastics. Of which, I put my entire heart and soul in to. ⠀
⠀
Everything I did seemed to be gymnastics-related, from the ages 8-18. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
Then I graduated high school and pivoted towards the wedding industry. I always loved fashion, I’m a huge romantic, and I’m very serviceable. I don’t mind putting in grunt work to create something beautiful. Which is basically what the entire industry is about. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
THEN I graduated college, and I realized that it was time to pivot AGAIN. While I love the wedding industry so so much, and I spent years developing a career and resume in it, my attention has been pulled elsewhere. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
Towards business and entrepreneurship. Towards writing, graphic design, and creating motivational content. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
I found that I’ve been trying to take my gifts and my interests and put them into a box rather than just giving them center stage. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
I am so motivated to create something that stems from my heart and mind. Portraying a message and putting out content that I believe in. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
Writing my first book has been so satisfying because it’s something that truly came from me, and it’s the product of countless hours of hard work and a constant grind. It’s something I never ever get tired of, and is my hobby as well as my project. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
It’s where my passion lies. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
Double tap if you are working on finding YOUR passion! ✨ #FBL

  • Ever feel SO hesitant to start a new fitness/nutrition plan because it seems you ALWAYS have an EVENT coming up? 🙋🏼‍♀️ These tips are for YOU then 👇🏻👇🏻 When I started my wellness journey 5 years ago, it took me FOREVER to commit to investing in a simple plan + support because there was ALWAYS something around the corner.

A work trip, wedding, vacation, family in town.... My body CRAVED a healthier balance, but I was a so afraid of missing out on life, too. 😫

I realized if I waited for the PERFECT time, it was never going to happen. ❌🤷🏻‍♀️ I leaned IN to a SIMPLE nutrition plan, a fitness program I could do from ANYWHERE (hotel, visiting family, home), and joined a {virtual} community to cheer me on THROUGH the events.

Now, I get to pay it forward to my clients and give them the tips + community to CONQUER the hurdles.

Here is a sneak peek of a few tips for staying on track when traveling: ➖➖Plan ahead. Check out the menu ahead of time, and find healthier options. Don't be afraid to ASK your waiter to modify a meal. ➖➖Choose your favorite "treat" and skip the rest. Have a glass of wine, but pass on the bread bowl and dessert. ➖➖Drink water while you wait. Hunger can often be confused for thirst. ➖➖Pack snacks. BRING snacks with you to help you stay on track and to avoid STARVING {which lends itself to binging later}. Fruit, carrot/pepper sticks, nuts, or wheat crackers pack easily! ➖➖Find time for exercise. A special weekend can lend itself to extra treats, so make sure you take 15-30 minutes to MOVE your body. I promise, you DO have the time.

What is something you struggle with when eating out/attending an event/have a special weekend?

Work on becoming a financially Independent woman.🔥⁣⁣

There’s this age-old idea that women love to be spoiled — and it’s true in a sense. ⁣⁣

But despite what men might believe, being spoiled can mean a lot of different things. For some women it’s paid dinners and old school romantic chivalry, and for others it's a guy who doesn't question anything when you have to stay late at work, or sends you a pizza 🍕when he knows you've had a bad day.⁣⁣

  • We are beyond proud of our daughter, and her huge accomplishment as she prepares for her college graduation from @nauflagstaff 👩🏻‍🎓🎉 on May 11, 2019. She will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Sciences & Technology with a minor in Psychological Sciences & Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. ❤️Her ceremony will actually take place on Mother’s Day wknd, and I couldn’t ask for a better present! 💖 These 4 years flew by and we can’t believe the day has finally come. We are overwhelmed with such pride, joy and emotion as we prepare to celebrate this journey with her. 🛣🎓 I can’t believe we have a college graduate! 😲 For a parent, this is probably one of the highest peaks in our life, and I’m so blessed that we are here to witness it. 🙏🏼😭 Yes, I’ll be a hot mess mom that day, cheering, crying, clapping, yelling, and jumping up and down... because dammit, I deserve to be! 😜 This is hard work and sacrifice for us as parents too, and because my baby girl is graduating college!!! 👏🏼🥳👩🏻‍🎓❤️ Graduating high school is expected; But continuing your college education for another 4 years takes determination, focus, perseverance, and dedication. It’s a choice and not everyone is up for the challenge. Drew is wrapping up her internship now. After graduation, she will be back in CA and plans on working for the local school for a year to gain field experience before she applies to grad school, where she intends to obtain her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. 👩🏻‍🎓🙏🏼❤️👏🏼🎉 Cheers to my one and only daughter! You did it honey!!!🍾🥳👩🏻‍🎓🎉💕👏🏼🙌🏼🤩

  • Are you being underpaid? Do you maybe even make excuses about why you don’t mind, telling yourself that your job is flexible so it’s okay? That you have everything you need and shouldn’t complain?

Ladies, I’m talking to you.

The system is unequal enough, but there we are running old scripts that we learned as little girls— be polite, don’t talk about money, share. Who needs a glass ceiling when we have our indoctrinated brains?

My client Michelle knew she was making $10,000 less than her male colleagues. She was resentful, but had a million reasons that felt true to her for why she shouldn’t negotiate— recent layoffs, company policy of raises only at annual reviews, not wanting to look greedy or ungrateful.

So we coached on it. She walked away with confidence and a strategy. Her $11,500 raise came a few weeks later.

Do you know what that one single raise means for her lifetime earnings? With 35 years left in her career and a 2.8% cost of living adjustment each year, that one negotiation increased her lifetime earnings by $529,730.

Some people say coaching is expensive. Those people don’t understand how math works.

  • Some work days stand out above the rest & Saturday night was one of them! 💙 It's incredibly rewarding to see it all come together & to have all the hard work & extra hours that are put into these Fight Night's pay off. Executive Fight Night Holy War edition was a huge success! I'm so grateful for the team I work with, the friendships I've gained & the support from my friends & family. Work hard, play hard! #LegendsBoxing -M ✊🏽

Plus I can get more wear out of both pieces in different styling!
Who else needs this besides me?? Love love love

  • Today we took a family day DURING the week. We let little miss Carrington skip school 🤫, went to the movies for the first time with Valentina, visited our favorite farm to see all the animals, hit golf balls and played mini golf at the driving range and finished the day with ice cream of course 🍦 I am committed to taking more time off work randomly during the week and not just when we are going away or have something to do. It was glorious to not be in a rush and just enjoy our day together making memories.

  • How many of you were shocked at how hard it was to find, keep and SEE friends once you became a full-fledged adult?
Honestly, I’ve never been a huge socialite, I prefer to be at home BUT I adore my friends and find it a little difficult to be so far away from so many of them. I’ve only recently moved into the bonus mom roll and don’t have the pleasure of mommy groups to help me meet others my age, the professionals in my industry tend to have different interests and don’t really fit into my season of life. So it can be damn hard to find and make good friends like I did when I was younger. Which gets lonely.
BUT I found my organization about four years ago and have met some absolutely INCREDIBLE women, they build me up they cheer me on and I do the same for them. Just because we’re getting older doesn’t mean we can’t make meaningful friends who want the same things in life as we do. Having a team to back me up gives me personal and business help—and that’s pretty damn perfect.
Other than mommy groups or after-school activities, how did you make friends into adulthood?

  • Okay let’s get real. Most of the sh*t on your To Do list takes way longer than you think it will. Seriously though, those items on your list each have a million little sub-items.
How are you supposed to be a bad ass career lady when most of your day is caught up with tiny solving tiny little problems and running errands?

It usually starts with a new notebook or day planner - or a Marie Kondo episode. You get excited to start living a more organized life.
It’s easy to be motivated in the beginning... but after a while the To Do list gets longer and longer and each item has 10 other details you need to do first.

So you give up ...and the planner goes at the bottom of a book pile on your desk.

I’m going to be honest, the most important step to move forward with your goals is to GTF over your perfectionism and learn to be Zen about the process.

It’s not technically hard - just emotionally.

You’re afraid of failure
You get overwhelmed
You feel like you’re getting old (which you’re not... see when Julia Child got started her career)

It’s a reality that life is short - and I know you’re driven to have a rad career path -but it’s going to take time to move forward with all the small steps in order to make big things happen.

The most successful people have a team working for them - but they all started out doing the dirty work themselves. So let’s get unstuck and start seeing progress through all the itsy bitsy tiny little baby steps in front of you. Make a page in your notebook for each of the little micro goals and check at least one off the list every day. It’s the only way to make things happen.

You’ll look back and realize how far you’ve moved forward and see all the little boxes that you checked along the way!

Remember to focus on how you want to feel in the future - what’s the reason why you have this goal in the first place? Instead of living in anxious anticipation of the future, how can you enjoy the journey on the way there?

  • Spent last weekend in Charleston, SC and got to visit Camellia’s at @hotelbennett downtown. Not only is Camellia’s GORGEOUS, and not only are their drinks fantastic, but this is a business that has branded itself and is executing on that vision. To perfection. That’s the kind of place that really inspires me. I hope I get to go back soon!

  • This week has been NUTS!!! Almost hair pulling?! Anyone else feel that way!? 🤪
.
During the spare minutes at night I have been reading and contemplating life. And I found this amazing activity to figure out your purpose or goal in life that I want to share! Here it goes: 👇👇
.
1. Make a list of everything you can remember that made you happy.
2. Highlight those items on your list that involve a skill, and identify that skill.
3. Rank the top 10 highlighted items in the order of joy they bring to you. Whatever makes you happiest of all gets 10 big points.
4. Now rank the top 10 highlighted items in terms of their income potential. The most lucrative skill of all is worth 10 points.
5. Total the two ranked columns. The highest score represents a potential main purpose in your life. Presto!
.
This seems super simple which is why I love it! Who doesn’t want to find a career they love which they are good at that will be income producing?!?! Everyone has different skills that bring them joy and using this simple system is a good start to getting on the path where you LOVE what you do! 💖

  • I spent the afternoon visiting with my sweet friend @aphelps86 and consulting with her about her business, @bigtastybakery. Let me tell you, this gal has got it going ON! I got to sample her Biscoff cupcakes and her dark chocolate and mint cupcakes, and they are KILLER! If you’re in the Spartanburg area and need baked goods, please give her a ring. You won’t be disappointed!
.
And if you’re interested in growing your business’s social media presence (which drives up sales!) DM me for a free consultation.

  • ANY #CAREERWOMAN WOULD KNOW how difficult it is to leave a job you love for something you love more—your family. When I shared the real reason I left my job in my blog, I honestly never expected the outpour of support, especially from those I barely know. @daretoaffect was one of those women whom I don’t personally know but showed support by sharing her story—read it in full in my IG story. Give her a follow as well for more daily inspiration.

Thank you would be an understatement. 😍 More than writing, reading my readers’ stories makes this #momblogger smile from ear to ear. Again, thank you. Keep sharing your stories! 😍

I asked Diana her journey as an empowered woman. She told me her journey through her career and the challenges she faced as a woman of color. Now in 2019, Diana works for one of the top companies in Silicon Valley.⁣
⁣
⁣ ⁣
⁣
“My name is Diana Jimenez and I grew up in Inglewood, California which is also known as the “City of Champions”. As a proud woman of color, both of my parents immigrated from Mexico to start a new life in the United States. I am proud of my humble beginnings and being in such a supportive and loving environment growing up. My supportive parents and community helped me attend a four year university in Southern California. I graduated with a degree in journalism and a minor in Spanish at California State University Northridge. Then, about a week after graduation I was offered a job as a television news producer in Yakima, Washington. This was a huge and challenging step for me because I was away from my family. I have always been with my supportive family, so leaving to another state was a big move that I had to face eventually. After living in Washington for two years, I had a bigger opportunity in San Francisco by working for the 6thlargest television station in the market as a news producer. While working for KRON news I decided to look for something better for myself. I am proud to say that I work in Silicon Valley at the Facebook headquarters. All of the challenges I have faced has shaped me to be the person that I am today. I have faced obstacles while on my journey to success, and now I can say that I am a proud woman of color working for a top company in Silicon Valley.”

  • Blog 🚨 Alert! SchoolBae 📚: Kim K the #LawyerBae 😍? #KimKardashian tweeted this week that she passed her “baby bar” and is planning to take the actual bar after her 4 year apprenticeship. Today, only four states — California, Virginia, Vermont, and Washington — allow aspiring lawyers to take the bar exam without going to law school. Aside from whether you like her as a reality star or not do you think it’s fair for persons to become lawyers without going to law school considering the amount of studying and debt law students have to endure? (SN 📝: Also keep in mind only 60 of 83,986 persons that took this alternative route actually passed the bar last year 👀) . Sound off below 🗣 and click link in bio 🔗👆🏽for full article by Lawyer @jcarteresq !

  • Who waited until today to have their first hot x bun?
🥧(we need a hot x bun emoji)

I know, I know... they are sooo good who wants to wait... But

I promised myself I won’t start eating them until today... and the wait was so worth it! 😋

Here’s an interesting little fact...
Do you know why we eat hot x buns on Easter Friday?

Well let me tell you a little tale... The hot x bun marks the end of Lent and different parts of the hot cross bun have a certain meaning, including the cross representing the crucifixion of Jesus, and the spices inside signifying the spices used to embalm him at his burial.

So when you enjoy your hot x bun today, let’s not forget the meaning behind Easter...the sacrifice the Lord made for us on this day ✝️ Happy Easter, my friend ❤️ #easter2019

  • TO CREATE CHANGE, YOU’VE GOTTA BE WILLING.⁣
⁣
“I can never want it for you more than you want it for you” is something I tell potential new clients all the time, and I want to make sure you remember it too.⁣
⁣
✨Coaching is not the business of saving people. It’s all about giving you tools, do-able steps, and the accountability to make the changes for yourself.✨⁣
⁣
At the end of the day, it’s about YOU. I’m not there to rescue you - I’m simply a container for your evolution.⁣
⁣
But let me tell you a truth: if you’ve ever kind of wanted someone to come in and “give you the answers”, let me explain what this is all about. There’s typically one main reason why people feel this way:⁣
⁣
☕ They’re scared of the outcome. ⁣
⁣
They’re scared that they’ll commit to the work and not have the outcome they want. As a result, they pseudo-commit, and hope that someone will come in and save them. They say they’re “trying to make the change”, but as I’ve said before: pseudo-commitment = pseudo-results. ⁣
⁣
ALLLLLL of this note is meant with no shade if you’ve been waiting for a rescuer. Instead, it’s a reminder of WHERE This fear is coming from, and a reminder that you that you have to want great changes in your life for *yourself*. No one else can want it for you.⁣
⁣
You’re your own savior, girlfriend. And I promise that if you show up 100% for yourself, the results and the changes you can see are HUGE. ⁣
⁣
You’ve got this. Show up. ⁣
⁣
xx⁣
Chris⁣

P.S. Feeling fired up and ready to celebrate how much you can accomplish? Drop your favorite badass emoji below to show me you’re WILLING. 👇⁣

  • 🤣🤣 I get it! You really think it’s possible to build a successful career without a strategy!
.
.
In fact, I just left a Facebook Group for career advice where I watched folks tell others things like “Girl, Google how to be a social media strategist. You don’t need training.” Or “You can’t hold a resume writer you just paid big $$$ responsible for your failure to get a job interview.” 😮
.
.
So, let me get this straight. You’re turning cartwheels when someone is giving you free bad advice but you think it’s too much to invest in yourself and get a real coach?👩🏽‍💻 (Sipping my tea)
.
.
.
As Dr. Phil would say, “And how’s that working for ya?” 😂 Listen, I believe people invest in what they value. And it’s true - a lot of people don’t understand the benefits of coaching. Coaches do a poor job of explaining benefits and not just outlining services. .
.
For example, you may not get me saying, “I provide coaching” but you may get “I help people figure out what career they will succeed in and that will pay them well. I help them get a clear plan on how to advance and get promoted, making bigger salaries and I help them do work that allows them to make a difference in the world.” 👍🏽🔥
.
.
.
I’d like to help you not only get a job, but build the kind of career you love. So you can have the long-term generational wealth you need to pass on to your kids. Or to take that bucket list trip you’ve been dreaming about. .
.
But you’ve got to make a move. Or not. It’s on you. I’m just a click or DM away. 💯🔥🔥

  • Meet Stacey Roney, a Former cosmetic buyer for Nordstrom managing four beauty-related companies! WHY would a 25-year beauty industry veteran like her become a Rodan + Fields consultant? 🤔
.
Stacey shared, “I saw two options for myself: I could continue to work 65 hours a week for 30 more years in order to send three kids to college and plan for my retirement, or I could give 110 percent for five years and build a solid foundation that could potentially give me financial stability, time freedom, and some room to breathe.”
.
The residual income from R+F allowed her to close those businesses and RETIRE her husband from real estate 20 years early. If that wasn't compelling enough, her results from our Reverse regimen were so amazing that her own DERMATOLOGIST joined her in business.
