  • The Agony in the Garden has to be one of the mysteries of the Rosary that I always seem to easily meditate on. There’s something about this scene of Christ praying intensely that plays out in my head so vividly. .
.
Christ takes on the weight of every single sin that has been and will be committed, aware of each offense that brought Him to that moment. The pain and weight of this knowledge was so intense that it’s said that Christ sweated blood from the experience. It was so great that He even asked His Heavenly Father if this burden could pass from Him. But of course as the good Son He is, He accepted the chalice and braced Himself to carry the sins of the whole world. My sins. .
.
When I pray, I also ask the Good Father to take away the burdens I experience or to give me what I desire right now. But many times instead of accepting that the Father wishes me to carry these burdens or to wait for what I desire, I don’t humbly accept as Our Lord did. I want too much and I give too little. .
.
My prayers of late have been focused inwardly and I must make an effort to be more resigned to the Will of the Father. To look outward and upward. He doesn’t ask me accept these things or have me be patient for things yet to come just to see me suffer. He does this so that in committing to His Will, He will carve out the brilliant and wonderful plan He has for me. So with this scene of Our Lord in the Garden a simple prayer comes to mind... .
.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like unto Thine. .

  • "Mary lived with her eyes fixed on Christ, treasuring his every word: 'She kept all these things, pondering them in her heart'. The memories of Jesus, impressed upon her heart, were always with her, leading her to reflect on the various moments of her life at her Son's side. In a way those memories were to be the 'rosary' which she recited uninterruptedly throughout her earthly life." - St. John Paul II
.
The rosary and Theology of the Body (TOB) were two of St. JPII's favorite subjects. Have you ever prayed the rosary while meditating on themes from JPII's TOB? Link in Bio. ❤️💜💛

Admist the current cultural confusion about the meaning of the human person, JPII's prophetic message Theology of the Body (TOB) is needed now more than ever before. Consider praying the rosary while meditating on key TOB concepts. Link in Bio. .

  • COMO VESTIR-SE MODESTAMENTE NO CALOR?
.
.
E VOCÊ? SABE DE MAIS ALGUMA DICA? DIZ PRA GENTE👇👇👇

  • “I Feel Alone.” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that phrase from someone who works in parish ministry. The truth is that I’ve felt that way too. Feeling alone in ministry can be dangerous. It can slow down your productivity and rob you of your joy. There was a time when my loneliness would build up resentment towards coworkers. I’d feel like I was missing out on something important. I was embarrassed when I’d learn something that I thought maybe I should have known before.

If you feel alone, the worst thing to do is to sit in it. The longer you go, the harder it is to pull yourself out of it. #loneliness #productivity #marathonyouthministry #youthministry #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #findyourjoy #catholicchurch #diocese #catholic #parish

  • THE IMPORTANCE OF FELLOWSHIP FOR CATHOLICS
.
.
.
Without fellowship, I’m not sure I would have made it this far in my revert and stayed in the Catholic Church. It all started one day after mass when I heard some people praying the rosary. This is how I found my first fellowship group. They pray the rosary after mass, then have fellowship talking about the readings of that day, the homily, and then prayer intentions. From there I’ve joined 5 other fellowship groups with variety of themes like rosary, prayers, study of saints, general catholic theology, and even the Catholic beer club. If you haven’t been to a Catholic beer club meeting, you should look it up in your area! .
.
.
Through these different fellowship groups, I began to feel a sense of belonging and family in the Catholic Church. Our church is UNIVERSAL and we are all connected through the Holy Spirit. I started seeing these connections as every Catholic I meet in my city knows at least 1 person from one of my fellowship groups and it’s a great way to bond and invite them to join a group too. With my vocation as a single lay person, called to chastity with my same sex attraction, I never feel alone due to my fellowship groups, which is my favorite part. Instead of being home alone sad that I can’t have a husband, I literally don’t care because I’m out of the house growing in faith, bonding with fellow Catholics, at adoration, praying the rosary, and laughing with my new Catholic friends that I can see turning into life-long friendships. Also meeting many devout Catholics my age has been a game changer too as it’s beautiful to see my generation having a strong faith, while also still being “normal” with social skills lol .
.
.
With having 6 fellowship groups, the meeting dates are spread out throughout the weeks and the month so there is always a Catholic event or fellowship meeting somewhere I can be attending. By having multiple fellowships during the week, it helps keep me focused on Christ. I encourage you to look in your parish bulletin for groups, search for the Catholic beer club to meet and network with Catholics, or simply start talking to the people you always see every time at mass 🙏🏾

That fabric has been what I’ve been waiting for for over a year — but more on that later. 😉 Enjoy the beautiful weather today if you’re in the 806 ☀️— not so great weather comes tomorrow. 🌧🥶🤪

  • “You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come." Wednesday of the Twenty-ninth week in Ordinary Time.
Luke 12,39-48
-
Jesus said to his disciples: “Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour when the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.
You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come."
Then Peter said, "Lord, is this parable meant for us or for everyone?"
And the Lord replied, "Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward whom the master will put in charge of his servants to distribute the food allowance at the proper time?
Blessed is that servant whom his master on arrival finds doing so.
Truly, I say to you, he will put him in charge of all his property.
But if that servant says to himself, 'My master is delayed in coming,' and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, to eat and drink and get drunk, then that servant's master will come on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour and will punish him severely and assign him a place with the unfaithful.
That servant who knew his master's will but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will shall be beaten severely;
and the servant who was ignorant of his master's will but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating shall be beaten only lightly. Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.”

and the servant who was ignorant of his master's will but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating shall be beaten only lightly. Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.”

  • 📌Hoy recordamos a #SanJuanDeCapistrano.
.

.
