Isn’t it crazy to think cats have lived with us humans for 10,000 years? 🐈
Cats were not domesticated in the same way dogs, cows, pigs, and goats were. They have lived among us, but it wasn’t until very recently that we began to change them. 🐕🐖🐈
Dog's bodies and temperaments have transformed radically during the roughly 30,000 years we’ve lived with and domesticated them. Domestic cats on the other hand haven't evolved at all and are almost identical to their wild counterparts - physically and genetically. So I guess that means that we are just living with little wild creatures! 😸
Our kitty-cats share our homes and food, and for thousands of years they have worked alongside farmers and sailors to destroy vermin for us. So the next time your kitty brings a treat to you, remember he or she is just simply wanting to appease you and the home you share together. 🧡
Do you believe one day cats will become completely domesticated just as dogs currently are? Or do you believe they will hold that place as one of the only animals to befriend humans without ever falling completely under our control? We can’t wait to hear what all our Pawesome Instagram friends think below! 👇 🤗👇
Oh Hello There, Pawesome Friends! 🤩
When humans look at a rainbow in the sky, they see shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Do you ever wonder what your cat sees when they look at a rainbow? Can your feline friend distinguish the same range of color that you do? 🌈🐱🌈
Cats are equipped with the visual accommodations that allow them to survive and thrive in the wild. Seeing well in dim light and picking up slight movements in the forest at great distances improve the cat’s hunting ability. These assets also help a cat know when HE is the prey and needs to flee. 🌑🌒🌓
Do you think your cat can see color the same way you do? What do you think your cats favorite color is? ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

I know that today is St. Patrick's Day ☘️☘️ but for me it's also the birthday of Spanky.
Who's Spanky you ask? Spanky was my very first cat and the beginning of a long history of cats that would, all in their own special ways, bless and enrich my life.
I adopted him from a work colleague who was going to have him put to sleep because he peeed in her husband's briefcase. The day that I picked him up I took him to my vet who diagnosed him with a UTI. He had a wonderful long life with me until he crossed the Rainbow Bridge 🌈🌈 I love and miss you. ❤️🌹❤️
We will meet again 💞💞 #firstchild#catsaremylife#missingyou#untilwemeetagain
