“The government of Belize is to be celebrated and commended for making this critical step forward for the future of its wildlife and people, many of whom rely heavily on ecotourism for their livelihoods. Through this commitment, Belize has recognized that the clock is ticking for the Maya Forest Corridor and admirably chosen to invest in the survival and well-being of its wild animals, like the #jaguar , and the nation’s communities and economy,” says Dr. Howard Quigley, Panthera’s Jaguar Program Director and Conservation Science Executive Director.
The expected steps and legislation to establish the #MayaForestCorridor will incentivize private landowners already protecting their land as forest and ensure the corridor is sustainably developed and managed under Belize law. Learn more from our press release through the link in our bio.
Fear is a master manipulator. It is something that at some point in your existence, you will wrestle with. Whether it is fear of being worthy, fear of stepping into the unknown, fear of speaking the truth, fear of walking away from toxic relationships (personal and professional), fear of being judged, fear of public speaking and fear of pursuing your dreams to mention a few.
Leading yourself and others requires that you confront those fears. It doesn’t mean that the fear disappears, you simply learn to master that fear. Mark Twain is quoted as saying: “Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.” Leadership requires constantly facing the many fears that show up daily and mastering that emotion known as fear. When you as a leader (I remind you everyone is a leader,) master your fears, it inspires your tribe to master their own fears.
I recently had a conversation with a friend and shared advice once shared with me, that letting go of fear is the key to change. That fear is just the fog that shows up to keep you from moving ahead. Releasing fear helps to kick start your next transformation. 2 Timothy 1:7 is a reminder, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Have a fear you are wrestling with? That fear still holding you back or keeping you stuck? Ready to face that fear? Click here to schedule your free 15-minute consult. https://calendly.com/ilka-1/15min?month=2019
