People say, “Home is where the heart is.” Here we say, “Home is where the Rock is”. ...not really but that would be cool.

The Neptune Pool underwent three versions between 1924 and 1936. William Randolph Hearst’s first idea for this site was a rose garden with a reflecting pool. In 1922 he purchased Roman temple fragments that he wanted erected in the rose garden. The reflecting pool was never built; instead a swimming pool was constructed; each version larger and more elaborate than the one before.
This iconic pool can be enjoyed in various ways. Our Grand Rooms and Designing the Dream tour offers an informative guided talk of this pool. Once you have completed your tour, you are free to enjoy the exterior portions of the property, and you may return to the Neptune Pool and explore at your own leisure. // #hearstcastle#californiastateparks#neptunepool#takeatour#sansimeon#juliamorgan#wrhearst#housemuseum#california#centralcoast

I’ve not been this excited about going to the dentist in.... well.... never!
My family and I have started seeing @drstevenlin and his team at @luminous_dentistry and we are (well I am) excited to be addressing root cause instead of taking a bandaid approach when it comes to our dental health.
As we have learned from the amazing work of Dr Weston A Price in the early 1900s, (And if you’re not familiar with his work go follow @westonaprice ) replacing our age-old traditional diets with the sub-optimal modern diet and lifestyle have interfered with our bone structure, posture and jaw development, and overall health, which is why we see so many children with crowded and crooked teeth, and so many adults with sleep and breathing disorders such as sleep apnea.
I love Dr Steven’s analogy - if your car’s engine breaks down, you wouldn’t take your car to the carwash to be fixed.
Traditional orthodontists manipulate the teeth to fit them into the jaw without addressing WHY the dysfunction is there in the first place.
This is why most people will have a relapse unless they get a fixed wire or continue to wear a retainer after their braces are removed.
This is why when the orthodontist suggested pulling out our daughter’s teeth to make room, we didn’t feel quite right about it and went looking for other solutions.
The Functional approach looks at the tongue, its range of motion and positioning, how we swallow and how we breathe (hint: we are designed for nasal breathing), along with the importance of eating Whole Foods and getting adequate fat soluble vitamins, especially vitamin D to support bone health.
As you can see this is right up my ally!
