MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK 💛 /// This year our focus is on body image. It’s the theme I feel most vulnerable talking about but incase it helps one person, here it goes🤞🏼. Over the last 5 years long distance running has completely changed my body, & a perception of what ‘normal’ looks like went out the window. I’d always been self-confident, with little to no awareness of body image.
Losing weight through miles, coupled with flattering remarks quickly became addictive. Destructive habits left me without the energy to run a mile, in & out of hospital & very close to finishing my life too early 🙏🏼. The last couple of years have been a journey to get to a place of self-respect, where the focus is being kinder to myself, fuelling my body to perform (& enjoying the odd tub of pick n mix too) 👀
Can't you tell
The sun is shining
And so are you
Not only is the sun shining on this beautiful day but we made new friends along the walk today. Those that were at first timid of their appearances. Pictures were taken, information on different rescues were written down.
Today was a good day

In celebration of #torontopride2019 we wanted to showcase queer artists that have contributed to the art scene around town.
JAC Collective was conceived in the 1980s by John Grube, Alex Liros and Clarence Barnes. The trio worked together for 8 years investigating the idea of gay art, exploring stereotypes associated with the gay male culture. They worked simultaneously on paintings at community events around the city, creating a visual record of the people interacting around them.
The 3 artists explored themes such as the struggle for freedom in the post-bathhouse-raid era, early Pride celebrations, popular gay hangouts, celebrity and sexuality.
“JAC not only depicts the traditional cock and balls, but is also to be found sketching outdoors… trying to give visual expression to a growing sense of gay community.” ~JAC

Some killer quotes from the book I’m reading #changingminds , digging deep on why we think the way we think and how to change everything about it. Becoming aware of your own thoughts and finding your true power, this book is is amazing I can’t get enough. I love learning why the mind works how it works. #metacognition is so intriguing!
