KOALAS SAVED. Recently our thoughts and hearts have been with our friends @medik8australia in Australia. The vast devastation caused by the bushfires has deeply saddened the entire Medik8 team and as a result, last week we made an urgent £2000 donation from our charitable umbrella, The Zipper Foundation.
PORT MACQUARIE KOALA HOSPITAL.
Based on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, @portmacquariekoalahospital has been in operation since 1973 and is run by 4 staff members and 140 volunteers. The hospital rescues and rehabilitates Koalas in need of urgent care and due to the recent state of emergency the team has been inundated with calls for help.
Rescued in November, Peter 🐨 was admitted with severe dehydration and burns to his paws. Thanks to the hospital and care of the staff and volunteers he was saved and given a second chance. He is now making a full recovery in the intensive care unit, but Peter is just one of many Koalas and native animals that need our help...
HELPING THE CAUSE.
With our donation we have been able to provide funds that will go towards the rehabilitation of the injured Koalas and new drinking stations that have recently been destroyed by the fires.
THE ZIPPER FOUNDATION.
Set up to offer help for exactly these types of emergencies, The Zipper Foundation supports animal welfare causes that are close to our hearts and projects we believe, how ever small, can make a difference. Please follow @portmacquariekoalahospital to see how you can help or read more on our blog: https://bit.ly/3aaoVub Thank you.

Africa would be a very different place without its elephants. They are a keystone species, which means that they influence the healthy functioning of an ecosystem and are critical to the survival of other species. Elephants are often called nature’s gardeners, and with good reason: They maintain the diversity of vegetation on the savanna, support nutrient cycling, and can even disperse seeds up to 40 miles away!
Three and a half years ago, a tiny calf was abandoned in the Amboseli ecosystem. We’re not sure how she lost her family, but she was very young, very emaciated, and in dire need of help. Esampu quickly endeared (and exhausted!) everyone at the Nursery with her brazen ways. Now she’s living at our Ithumba Reintegration Unit, and although she is one of the youngest members of the herd, she still hasn’t lost her bold streak. However, she’s growing up and even developing a maternal side. Swipe to see how smitten she is with little Lili!
Lili’s mother is Loijuk, an orphan who we rescued and raised. Although Loijuk is now leading a fully wild life, she still chooses to visit regularly with her daughter in tow. These interactions are invaluable for still-dependent orphans, helping them hone their maternal instincts and learn elephant etiquette. It’s incredible to see how girls like Esampu, who were orphaned at such a young age, benefit from these wild encounters.
Had an amazing time last night at the launch of Drew’s Movement! This charitable organization focuses on suicide prevention and mental health, two of the arguably most important health matters of the modern day. Thank you @markamyers@stephanicostanza for allowing me to be a part of this great cause on this special night. ❤️ Our Story and Purpose ❤️ ArrowBar was born out of the love and passion for tennis. As Former University of Miami tennis players, we were always searching for that edge on court. We could never find anything to provide us that long lasting energy during grueling matches and practices......until we created it!! We are the First ever Nutrition bar created BY tennis players FOR tennis players. Created and backed by tour professionals such as John Isner, James Blake, Nicole Gibbs, Michael Russell and Bjorn Frantangelo.....they can tell you, it works!
Tennis has been our lives. ArrowBar doesn’t exist without the bonds and friendships we all have created during our tennis journey. Impacting the game is our number one goal and that’s why we created the A.C.E. (ARROWBAR CHARITABLE EFFORTS) Program. We are giving back .25 per bar purchased from ArrowBar. The proceeds raised will be used for impacting tennis. Whether it’s providing equipment for people who can’t afford to play the game or for kids who can’t afford lessons or travel to impacting facilities to helping grow the game......anything that impacts the game we love and the game that has changed our lives is where the money raised will go!! #ourstory#ace#arrowbarfam#whatsinyourbag#charity#giveback#tennis#arrowbar#miami#miamihurricanes

Will you start off 2020 by Sharing The Love with children with congenital heart disease and their families? This National Heart Month (February), we need your help to bring some heart to the brand new Psychology Room for cardiac families at Evelina London Children's Hospital. ECHO has campaigned for this room to exist and we’re delighted we’ve been heard – but we now need to ensure it’s exactly what families need. Find out how you can help at the link in our bio 💙

At Jaago Foundation, we not only focus on studies in class but encourage and highlight talented students with activities that foster both physical and mental dexterity. It makes them adept in a variety of extracurricular tasks.
One of the well-wishers of JAAGO, Ms. Sonia Afroz along with her two sons, in efforts to educate children studying in JAAGOs schools about lego robotics, had visited JAAGO Rayerbazar School a few days ago. Students of class 7 and 8 had an interactive lego robotics session with Ayaan and Shafin Haque. The students learned how to make robots using lego structure.
At Hands of Love we feed, clothe, shelter, and nurture over 2,300 children in a safe and loving environment. Our children are educated through graduation in our award winning, nationally ranked schools. Saved from the streets, child trafficking, exploitation and poverty.
Heritage High School is just one of the 99 schools taking part in the #bearsofsheffield fundraising campaign. Mrs Frances Newton from the school explained how hard the children have been working to raise funds to transform the Cancer and Leukaemia Ward @sheffieldchildrens “We now have so many students wanting to help that we have had to draw up a rota. We have already raised £850 since September which really showcases how supportive the pupils are and how much they want to do their bit to try and make a difference. We will soon be running a competition to choose the theme of our bear and then a second competition to design the bear which will be based around our chosen theme. The winner will then be chosen by our students in a vote - we want them all to feel represented as they have all helped to raise funds for the charity.” Beary good job cubs! Stay tuned for more fabulous fundraising by the schools! #charity#schoolfundraising#sheffchildrens#sheffieldissuper

#repost . A massive well done to @fleetphoenix11 for organising this incredible food drive for families who needed it on the run up to Christmas. It was great coming together as an organisation to help! Until next year guys! 👏🏽.

This was how The Point looked like just before Christmas which was the result of a Christmas food drive.
A huge thank you to Inchora and @projectfiveit whose staff donated a huge collection of food and toiletries to Fleet Phoenix as part of their Christmas food drive.
We were blown away by the amount of food and the generosity of our community - all of this goes a long way in helping us keep our stores stocked for the young people and their families in the local area who need it. It also made a massive difference to helping families make ends meet at a very stressful time of year and going forward.
