  • Stage shots! Came 1st in figure novice Class D & second in figure open class D. Found out afterwards that the show was so big it mirrored a national level show so I’m really content with the package I brought to my very first one!

Competing again soon & I know what changes need to be made. Wider lats & lots more posing practice! A new look as well. Evidently leg conditioning won’t be a problem. 😅 (My front pose didn’t have a good picture smiling so behold me looking stoned afff 😂) Had SO much fun & can’t wait to improve & do it again.

Thank you @jmihalyfit for being backstage with me the entire time & feeding me pickles. 😂 Now we know how to peak my body for the stage, so next time I’m up there it’ll be even shreddier. 💪 Thank you all so much again for the vast amount of support I got during this prep. It means so much to me. 💙

~ 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆! no hate on resistant bands but you need to lift some heavy weight to really tear up those muscle fibers and grow. “heavy” is relative for everyone, but challenge yourself! push yourself to your limits and set new goals as you reach your old ones!

Also, Mother Nature has decided to grace me with her presence with the force of a thousand knives. I still went to the gym even though I was in pain, because working out always helps me feel better.

ALL DAY TODAY I wanted the chicken strip combo basket they have at the grill downstairs in my corporate office.⁣

It's not that I couldn't have it. It's not that I won't ever have it. It's not that I «shouldn't» have it. It just wasn't the Centered choice. ⁣
⁣
I needed to focus at work today. I didn't need the lethargy or sluggishness. ⁣
⁣
I had plans for a cocktail after work. Going balls to the wall and nixing healthy consumption altogether all day long wasn't going to serve me. ⁣
⁣
Earlier this week, after a particularly taxing therapy session, I headed to a restaurant nearby that serves up AMAZING fried chicken as total comfort food choice. Is it 'bad' to have fried chicken twice in a week? Not necessarily. BUT, does it serve my current health and physical transformation goals? Definitely not. So I made my choice to say a polite 'no' to myself regarding my chicken cravings. ⁣

I was talking with a friend «who is in one of my challenge groups!!» recently. I was telling her how she is kicking such ass after I noticed in belly dance class that after months of work she's having some amazing ab development coming through. ⁣
⁣
I've been so excited to be at the start of seeing my own little baby abs being sprouted from my efforts! Yet, I've recently caught myself getting defensive about it (which is only exaccerbated when other people make their unsupportive opinions known about my health journey #eyeroll). "I feel weird talking about being excited to start seeing abs," I told her. "I know how important body positivity is, and there was nothing wrong with my body before... but this is just something I want so much for myself." WHAT IS THAT DEFINSIVE SHAME-Y RIDICULOUSNESS?! ⁣

Her response totally rocked my world—she said that part of body positivity is having the agency to make a choice about your body's aesthetic and not feel bad about it. ⁣

Heck. Yes. I'm channeling that to the max. I’m so appreciative for mindful friends who really critically think about the convos we have and can offer such incredibly necessary insights. SO... anywho. The point of these rambles? I’m building the body of my dreams, and I’m not feeling bad about it. ✌🏻

I've been seeing some very satisfying growth in my shoulders and traps. Some would say building those muscles isn't feminine... But I can't be bothered with the opinions of others when I'm so freaking happy with my progress. 😁

In other news, I'm considering doing another giveaway for my next online fitness group. What do you guys think? If you're interested, leave a comment. If I get enough women ready to get free swag and get their nutrition and fitness on track, I'll definitely do it! ❤️

Earlier today I was saying how no one wears these leggings anymore and then the girl next to me on the gym had on the EXACT same pair!!
Today’s workout was a mix of weights and bodyweight moves but the bodyweight moves are the ones that killed me 💀
🍑Assisted pistol squats
-I had never done these before and they were really difficult 😂
🍑Bulgarian split squats
-Lean forward to feel the burn more in your front (working) leg, discovered that today (why didn’t anyone tell me??)
I actually couldn’t finish my whole workout because the beginning of my workout was so hard 😅

  • ** it’s a long and sloppy one guyyyyssss**. This first picture was taken 14-15 weeks ago during the peak of my bloatation period. Since then I have been slowly getting rid of the layer of blubber I so elegantly sheathed myself in. It’s been a long and windy road of trial and error- as this has been the first time in a long long time that I watched what I ate/what I trained with an end goal. I’ve never been one to watch scales but for the sake of this experiment I weighed myself every 2 weeks, and although it may not seem like a huge number- I’ve lost 4 kg - of fat 👏🏻 and have retained my strength 🤜🏻🤛🏻 . Today I reached my goal- not of a certain weight, but of a certain look! I wasn’t necessarily proud to post that first pic, but I’m DAMN proud to post this progress. It hasn’t been easy and there were times I thought not worth it, but looking back at where I was, I know it was 100% worth every minute of it. None of this would have happened without the constant help and reassurance from my coach in lifts/life/and the beautiful art of saying NO to that pepperoni pizza calling my name @jake_ssmith1993 ! Thankyou for pushing me to reach something I didn’t see possible. Lots of love to you! PSA: if you need/want any assistance in training/nutrition hit up this guy @jake_ssmith1993 , I may or may not be SLIGHTLY bias- but he really knows his stuff and can/willll help you

  • So, here’s my peak fluff, I began my little cut yesterday! Nothing too crazy but I’m gonna lean out for summer and I’ve started intermittent fasting again🙏 it was fun eating above maintenance for the last few months but I’m looking forward to seeing an ab again! We are going to try out a CrossFit box here in Newfoundland tomorrow! I’m pumped to get my ass kicked and maybe make some new fraaands🤗

  • Some days you get impatient and wonder “why aren’t I bigger yet😫?!”; it’s easy to get side tracked. Those are the days you need to reflect on how far you’ve come 🤗! Putting your ego aside and lifting weights PROPERLY; no longer throwing away the day over a small piece of cake; valuing rest and recovery; not allowing the scale to control your day; respecting and honouring your body; the list goes on. They may seem like small things compared to stepping on a big stage, but those are the things that form a strong foundation to build your mansion on. Keep going. Let your fire burn 🔥 #dowhatyoulove #sameposedifferentday

  • A year ago today I’d be returning from my personal training exam 😅

It’s crazy to sit back and realize how much has changed the past year, how my passion has turned into a career and how I continue to grow what I do everyday.

I can’t thank everyone enough for the support you give me and for all my clients who believed in me and choose me as a coach 🌻 —————————————————
Can honestly say mentally and physically I’m really starting to feel more like me.
I’m challenging my strength everyday which in turn is challenging my mind.
I finally feel good in my own skin and am not beating myself up everyday.
Weight hasn’t really fluctuated much but man has my appetite came back 😅

I know I did. I would stare at the mirror, disgusted at what was looking back at me. I made ugly faces. Slumped. That’s the only way I saw myself.

That mirror doesn’t show us who we are. It shows us how think about ourselves.

It won’t show us how we light up when someone compliments our pants (see? They have POCKETS!)

It can’t portray that beaming pride when what we thought was impossible... becomes accomplished.

  • Birthday lift weeeoooo. On the menu today I had 3x8 squats @ 65 kg. Farted on the last rep, but I gave a heads up, so it’s not weird 👍🏻 2ct pause bench 3x6 @ 40kg and then 2x6 @ 35 kg.

  • FEELING STAGNANT IN YOUR HEALTH AND FITNESS JOURNEY? Giiiirl same! Recently I found myself in a place where I was feeling uninspired by the fitness industry and my lack of results + doing the same thing over and over again and not really knowing if I was doing exactly what I should be doing to feel like my best possible self. ⁣⁣

🌻Try some new recipes, cook books or a meal plan - sometimes adding fresh challenges into our routine gets our brain working again and can help us re-inspire ourselves to cook at home instead of eating out ☺️ ⁣⁣

🌻Find a new workout routine - purchasing a plan that’s in alignment with your goals, finding new women in fitness to follow and trying new things in the gym takes us out of the mundane space where we just do without thinking and can get us excited about creating new progress in the gym + it keeps your muscles guessing  and can work muscles in the body you weren’t hitting before ⁣⁣

🌻Work with a PT / Health and Fitness Coach - a professional who can make a plan that’s suited to your specific body so that you know all the work you’re putting in is going to get you to where you want to be ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🌻Find an accountability buddy / a gym partner - Having someone to workout with or keep you accountable means you have someone to look forward to catching up with during your workouts ☺️ plus they can also bring new workouts to try to the table for you both to try. Buddy workouts can be fuuuuun! ⁣

🌻Get outside - with all this beautiful sunshine coming through we might as well enjoy it! Find a park with stairs, a basketball court, outdoor fitness machines and go have fun in the sun getting creative. Plus all that vit D will have you glowing and feeling good 🙏
