  • This is the KS Flaming Torch. Can anyone guess why I named it that?  This is a very beautiful pepper that has a thick wall. It’s mildly sweet and has heat comparable to a scotch bonnet. The first 3 generations produced very few seeds so not many are growing these. I am hoping to harvest more seeds this season.  Happy growing!

  • Las Termas Geometricas, un incontournable de la région de Pucón. Nous avons préféré nous y rendre par nos propres moyens et pouvoir passer la journée sur place alors que les agences proposent souvent des forfaits de 2h. Nous sommes arrivés avant midi pour bénéficier d'un tarif réduit et sommes partis manger entre 15h et 17h quand tous les bus ont débarqué. Cela nous a permis de profiter de plusieurs heures où la vingtaine de piscines du lieu étaient désertes.
Un vrai paradis ❤️

How many f & b brands do you know have survived the war, The Great Depression, racial riots of the ‘60s, SARS, and constant rising inflation rates? .

Hill Street Tai Hwa #Pork #Noodle is one of the last ones standing, and has been bestowed one #Michelin star since 2016. Thanks to the second generation owner, Mr Tan Chay Seng, who is in his 70’s.

The iconic bak chor mee is prepared #Teochew style using mee kia (stringy) or mee pok (flat) noodles tossed in #chili and black #vinegar, and other unnamed sauces. Crowding the extra large bowl (yup, the biggest one thanks to @audreyisaudrey) are:

🐖 Thinly-sliced #pork liver that were a little pink in the middle; minced pork, pork #lard, boiled pork slices

⏰ We beat the scary two-hour-long lines one reads about online by taking @chefshentan’s advice to visit the coffeeshop stall at its off-peak hour at 3pm. .

AND we also learnt something new today. One could take a number when the stall is taking a break, and then return to kick us out of it! Yeah, we didn’t have a number so we have to give way to the numbered 😑

Anyhoo, the almost-century-rich business has come a long way since its $5-a-bowl days. The smallest bowl now costs $6, a medium-sized one at $8, and the biggest at $10. All prices are nett and only cash is accepted. It’s open from 9.30am - 9pm except Mondays. .

Is it worth the time, you ask? Well, this was my first time so give me a few more tries before I commit to a comment 😉 .

Supergod rätt som vi åt förra veckan😍 enkelt och smidigt om man vill ha ett gäng matlådor!

Ingredienser
1 burk majs
2 paket krossade tomater
1 paket kidney bönor
2 paket vita bonör i tomatsås
1 lök
2 vitlöksklyftor
1,5 tsk spiskummin
1,5 rökt paprikapulver
1,5 tsk sambal oalek
2 lagerblad
Lite chilipulver
Olja att steka i
Salt 
Peppar
1 dl vatten

Tillbehör
Gräddfil
Nachohips

Gör såhär:
Skala och hacka löken och vitlöken.
Fräs i oljan i en  kastrull i ca 3 minuter. Rör i spiskummin, paprikapulver, chilipeppar och sambal oelek. Fräs ca 1/2 minut.

Blanda i krossade tomater. Lägg i lagerblad. Koka upp såsen under omrörning.

Blanda i bönorna och majs. Späd grytan med lite vatten om den känns för tjock.

Koka upp grytan och sjud ca 20-30 minuter.

Rör om då och då. Smaka av med mera kryddor om det behövs.

Toppa grytan med persilja eller koriander. Servera med gräddfil och nachochips.

4h du matin, on pose définitivement le pied à terre. Notre bienveillant chauffeur, nous dépose dans la zone industrielle de la ville. On enfile nos backpacks pour plier les 4 km qui nous séparent du centre. L’air vif nous gifle les joues. Dernier challenge : trouver un toit, pour enfin dormir… On s’acharne quand même sur la première auberge de jeunesse qui croise notre route. Un garde endormi et débraillé vient nous ouvrir. On tente une négociation du prix de la nuit.Peine perdue. On paiera 50€ pour 3h de sommeil. On entre à pas feutrés dans un dortoir et on s’écroule de fatigue. Ushuaia, nous y sommes enfin…

  • 🔥 Spicy Black Bean Soup
⏲ 15 mins Prep Time | Serves 2-3
So black bean soup is one of my favorites & probably one of the best protein filled soups for a vegetarian!🌱 This spicy soup turned out AMAZING! I actually wish I had made more just so I could have had more leftovers 😪 Guess I’ll have to make a fresh batch again in a few days 🤷🏽‍♀️ Also hoping this soup scares away a cold that I think is coming...🤧

Recipe📝
▫️1/2 Onion
▫️1 Celery Stalk
▫️1 Jalapeño
▫️1 medium Carrot
▫️3 cloves Garlic
▫️2 15 oz can Black Beans
▫️2 cups Vegetable Broth
▫️Seasonings - Cumin, Chili Powder, Salt & Pepper
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I started off using a food processor that came with my immersion blender (@kitchenaidus) but you can use a chopping board as well to chop up all your veggies. And then I hand sliced my carrots.
After the veggies are prepped, add to a pot with some avocado oil. Cook until the onions are translucent. Add in the garlic & cook for another minute or two.
I eyeballs my seasonings but make sure to add a good amount of everything. More chili powder = more 🔥.
Then, add in your rinsed black beans & vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, then cover & simmer for 30 mins.
Turn down to low heat & use an immersion blender to blend the soup. Only blend 1/2-3/4 of the soup so you get a creamy texture but also have some whole beans & veggies remaining.
Serve in a bowl with some avocado, sesame seeds, & sliced green onion! 😍
