  • Just a little reminder that there is most probably an historic place of worship in your community that you can visit RIGHT NOW to learn more about your shared history and culture
-
These places are special and need your support. They take a lot of love and effort to run and maintain. It literally costs thousands of pounds a day to keep a cathedral open for the public
-
I hope the recent tragedy at Notre Dame will open people's eyes to the special places they have right on their doorstep. There are so many historic sites and buildings that need our support, and we can all do a little bit to preserve our shared history for future generations

  • Exploring York 🛡
It’s such a great day out. York has so much history and so many picturesque buildings. We loved peering through the ornate metal work on this bridge and looking out over the #RiverOuse. Have you been to #York? Let us know your favourite spot in the comments below 👇

  • What’s the one thing you would do for your business, if only you had the time?

How long will it take you to get it done? A day, week, over a year....? A few minutes?

Can you take some action on that now, even if it’s only a tiny step?

Here I am at the @thegrandyork between shoots for filming for my Idea Time Membership. There were several different things I wanted to film so I prepped for each of them and then “batched” them into a schedule I could get done on a day.
I booked my film crew, Jim & Finn, and we were super productive at getting it all done - and in a way that I’m really pleased with! It feels so good to get all those important items sorted!

It’s actually made me more productive with other things, too, because it feels so amazing to have achieved something that will be so helpful and useful for my clients.

And a big thanks to James and his team at The Grand Hotel, York. You were awesome and looked after us brilliantly.

Have a super day, whatever you’re doing x
PS if you’d like more info my Idea Time membership, check out the link in the bio, or type www.ideatime.co.uk/membership into your browser

  • We are buzzing to be back in York this summer!! If you are aged between 7 – 17 and have a passion for performing look no further!

Theatreland Workshops inspire young people to grow in confidence and feel empowered to believe in themselves whilst reaching new heights in singing, acting and dancing. Our vibrant team of professional performers create a really fun week which caters for every child’s individual talent and ability.

During the week our young people will work on a selection of showstopping musical theatre production numbers whilst developing their vocal connection, characterization, devising, movement/dance, imagination and audition skills. They will be led by a team of top industry professionals who have worked in all areas of the business. At the end of the week there will be a performance for parents and friends where everyone will share in what we have created during the course of the week. "My son and daugher had a fabulous time this week at the Theatreland Workshop. The end of week performance showed how much they’d all learnt in the workshop, it was brilliant & they all got a chance to shine." Parent review 2018 Workshop

  • I’ve booked some time in with myself today to do the final shaping of some of the videos I’m going to be using inside my new membership that’s coming soon. I’m doing the last pieces of filming tomorrow.

I’m working from @thegrandyork to get my head down and into the zone. I love days like this! I have to ringfence the time to give myself the space to really think and create.

It’s going to be a great day! Hope you have a great day too x

  • @karen_tinkler of Partners PR Group did a great job of kicking off this evening’s Digital Trends in Marketing event in #cityofyork.
Some key messages I took from her session are:
🌱Engagement, trust and authority continue to be fundamental essentials for digital marketing success.
🌱 Storytelling is key, focusing on expertise and not just personality. 🌱 It’s definitely all about defining your target customers, understanding them and then communicating with them on the platforms they use, through media and methods that resonate with them. Fundamental but it can’t be emphasised enough. 🌱 Be smart about leveraging your social networks to expand your traditional press coverage and vice versa.
Great session Karen, thank you!

  • Here’s Rachael, Marketing Manager for @hiscoxinsurance in York,UK sharing her insights and stats from Hiscox’s YouTube campaigns at this evening’s Digital Trends in Marketing event.

Top takeaways from Rachael are:
✨ Having your brand at the beginning of your videos increases the number of people who will watch your videos.
✨ Repurposing your main video into what she calls an ‘ecosystem’ of smaller videos and teasers is a really effective way of getting more coverage and also getting the most from the core campaign asset.
✨ Test and measure different things to see what works best, and also look at the cumulative effect of all your activities in combination.
✨ Using the physical equivalent of an online concept really helps a message hit home. Rachael’s award winning video campaign used a bricks and mortar cycle shop to illustrate the different tactics used in cybercrime and it was much more impactful as a result. Google “Hiscox The Hack” to see this in action, as it’s quite hard to explain in a caption! Worth a watch, especially if you have an online business because as well as raising your awareness of the risk, you could well get lots of ideas on how to communicate your digital products and services using tangible examples.
