✨🌎 Happy Earth Day! 🌎✨
Today is about celebrating our beautiful planet, and doing our part to promote positive change for the environment~ ♻️
We did our humble part by biking instead of using public transportation, and participating in a local tree planting event! 🌱✨
Let us know in the comments how you made a difference today, big or small! ☺️✨
Be sure to pick up our Corgi Earth Day spinner pin to show your love & support for the cause! 💖
P.S. Make sure to check out “Our Planet” on Netflix, if you haven’t yet! 👀✨
We’ll be releasing our latest original film tomorrow evening! 🐋
A documentary portrait of a Tongan whale-watching guide called George, and of the humpback whales that spend their summers in the warm waters around the islands of Vava'u. Make sure to check it out!

Expedição S.O.S Terra 2019”, a região do Ártico e a Floresta Amazônica. Climate change is happening. So inspired by our London Rebels in Marble Arch. I’ve joined the #extinctionrebellion by joining my local XR group. You can too! Anyone wanting to support but not willing to camp, small changes to lifestyle go a long way. Follow the movement to see how you can help! (And yes I did recycle my picnic!) 💚

Earth Days rendition of Every day is Earth Day 🌏😉 I may not post often but I do make the choice everyday to make a conscious effort for our environment ♻️ If you haven’t heard, China, who was the main importer of the developed worlds plastics stopped early 2018. Since then the spoiled nations who didn’t want plastics piling up in their own backyard desperately sought out other countries to dump this low value hard to recycle material. Soon vulnerable nations in South East Asia will suffer with heaps of dirty landfill.
Best thing to do. Say no to single use plastic. Keep recycling. Minimise landfill. Minimise consumerism. Clean and sort our plastics according to our local recycling centres guidelines. Time to take responsibility for our own waste.
Our most powerful politicians are not taking meaningful action to support a cooling planet. New mega coal mines are set to be approved damning Australia’s Great Barrier Reef to certain extinction and subjecting the climate to more of the dirty fuel pollution. We must prevent the Adani mine being built, or any mines perpetuating reliance on fossil fuels. We must demand change, we must demand renewable energy. Support the economic power of sustainable business, jobs, industries, energy and community.
Since an election is coming for Aus. Make some noise. Join movements, marches, write letters/emails. And do them again. Get active. This isn’t a trend this is taking action for our one and only planet. 💚 #earthday2019#everydayisearthday#climatechange

5 Reasons “The Green New Deal” Is Misleading, Dangerous and Part of the Problem—
Delusion and Deception in Service of American Empire
The #GreenNewDeal has become a rallying cry for sections of the #environmental movement and for many progressive-minded people. It’s not a solution to the problem of #climatechange but is part of the problem.
The planet is warming at an alarming rate, with horrific consequences for humanity and putting ecosystems and species in peril. International summits, agreements, and commitments from Kyoto to Paris have done little to nothing.
The most important fact is this: The problem of global warming cannot be resolved within the confines of this global capitalist-imperialist system.

This week has been a big week for sustainability. In the news we have seen coverage about Extinction Rebellion, Earth Day 🌍 was yesterday and the legend that is Sir David Attenborough took to our screens with a prime time billing about climate change.
It is clear that more and more of us are taking a personal interest in how we live our lives more sustainably.
Something we are passionate about is making sustainability accessible and achieveable for everyone. Something that gradually shifts our habits but does so dramatically.
Jen Gale from @sustainableish is a lady we most definitely share a lot of values with. Go check out her insta page, it's full of super interesting content and really inspiring. She asks how can we all get on board to turn this climate change ship around. Pause for thought!
We'd love to know any other people, pages or companies you know of that have helped you to live more sustainably. Share them here so we can all jump onboard!
(French below) "Please save water". In 2018, Capetonians were in a panic as the city clamped down on the use of water as the city became the world’s first major city to look like it was about to run out of water due to climate change. Since then situation improved but water is still an issue in this very touristic city, and every place you go, you can see reminders and tips to avoid to waste water.
#nuclearpower is not as dangerous as it is feared. As long as we respect its power, we can use it alongside #renewables . #ClimateChange is sadly true, but we posess the power to return our environment and infrastructure to a prosperity conducive for our economy, health, security, and cultural/family/outdoor values.
#TestimonialTuesday Meet Coumba Ngom, a mother supporting her family of six in the village of Wereyane. “CREATE! has given us the means to develop our community and succeed. Even our children will use these skills in the future,” she tells us. Coumba and her village have been learning and utilizing sustainable agriculture techniques that they can use to sustain year-round gardens. Now families will always be able to put food on the table and children can have healthy diverse diets!
I am very proud to say I had a family member who contributed to this public statement with "Extinction Rebellion Portland" over the growing concerns of climate change and the use of deadly fossil fuel in PDX.

PORTLAND, Ore. (OPB) -- “Early Sunday morning the group, Extinction Rebellion, dumped a truckload of topsoil on the tracks near the Zenith-owned petroleum terminal at 5501 NW Front Avenue. The group also erected a tiny house on the site and has planted flowers, trees, and a garden as part of its protest against what it calls a “governmental inability to act” in response to the company’s Portland expansion.”

NASA and NAOO data released in 2016, still one of the hottest years on record, showing the annual fluctuation in temperature per month. This may seem like nothing, a degree or so warmer in the summer? Hell yeah, time to tan! But no, this also means that the usual June to November window for Hurricane season will get longer and more severe. How? One degree makes it a lot more likely that the sea will reach optimal tropical storm forming temperature (27 degrees Celsius). And it’s only getting warmer. Global warming has effects that many people aren’t aware of so its time to educate them and ourselves. #globalwarming#globalwarmingisreal#climatechange#earthday#earth#protect

Every hour the sun beams enough energy onto Earth to meet global energy needs for a year. The best part is we already have the technology to harness this resource while creating jobs and keeping the planet clean.

“Climate change is not debatable; it’s science. And it’s honestly sad that a lot of people don’t believe in it. I constantly wonder how people can ignore proven facts and science. Since I live on the coast, I’ve seen shore line erosion, rising sea levels, and red tides due to the warming oceans. I’ve also had to change my lifestyle to alleviate these affects because I care about the environment.” pc 📸: Caroline Dumoulin
Scientists👩🔬are embarking on a three-week flying campaign🛩️ today to study methane emissions from gas💨 fields in the southern North Sea🌊. Specialised scientific equipment, on board one of @britishantarcticsurvey Twin Otter aircraft, will be used to gather data on the chemistry⚗️ and structure of the atmosphere☁️. The data📈 collected will be used to derive the volume of methane emitted from the North Sea gas rigs. The research is part of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) Oil and Gas Methane Science Studies. Understanding how methane is released from gas platforms will help inform policy and industry regulations. Measuring the amount of methane released through activities like this will also be an important component in producing an accurate record📉 of global🌍methane emissions which will inform global climate models and increase the reliability👍of future #climatechange predictions. .

For me, everyday is earth day. .🌎 I constantly seek to find ways to leave less footprints on this amazing planet, while also searching for every bit of its natural beauty. .🦶🏼 Today I’m wishing that everyone will do there part to consume less, recycle more, and think ahead so we can provide the same treasures for our future generations. .🌿 This was a picture taken in Alaska; which has areas that are warming twice as fast as the global average. .☀️ As an honorary Alaskan (Alaskan by Marriage), I believe every action we take to do our part, and the part of those who won’t, helps and it’s memories like this one that motivates me to continue the good fight. . #earthday #earthdayeveryday #todaysagenda #savetheworld #mysoapbox #climatechange #alaska #honoraryalaskan
