Cockles and mussels......And next in my series of "not a cockle", we have a mussel. The byssal threads were keeping the cockle shell closed, making me think it was alive 😭 bad for my sampling scheme but interesting to see how important cockles are by providing habitat 👍

잠시 뒤를 돌아 옛것을 바라보며 사색에 잠기고 싶었습니다.
새로운 코클은 옛스러운 정취가 머무는 벌교와 아주 잘 어울리는 공간이기를 바랍니다. 여행으로, 잠깐의 마실로 들려보는 이 ‘완전히 새로워진 코클’은 벌교이기에 허용되는 옛스럽고 또 촌스러운 향취를 가득 머금고 있을 것입니다. 아이러니하게도 30여년 전 미국인의 손에서 탄생했던 이 손 때묵은 공간은 여타의 그 시절 주택들과 달리 높은 천장을 가지고 있습니다. 조각 조각 얽혀있는 나무벽은 그 시대만이 만들어낼 수 있는 멋을 보여줍니다.
그 시대를 떠올리며 향수에 젖어도 좋고, 다른 시간의 한 공간으로 들어간 듯한 착각에 빠져도 좋을 일입니다.
부디 이웃의 집에 살포시 들러 차 한잔 대접받는 듯한 따스함이 머무는 공간이기를 또한 바랍니다.

11.😃[E]: Ishigakigai (石垣貝, “Bering sea cockle” according to Sushi Namba). Now this was excellent, a worthy rival to torigai, with a beautifully dense yet soft texture and gentle oceanic sweetness. More importantly, look at that ethereal nikiri, which makes all of Obana-san’s sushi glow like magical morsels. ⠀⠀

A tasty, well-rounded meal featuring top-of-the-line neta and gentle aka-shari. Because the ingredient quality was so high, Obana-san let the produce speak for itself. Yet the sushi here had plenty of personality too: his "Obana originals" were a pleasure to taste! Even better, the Obana couple provided extraordinary hospitality; we had so much fun, and never had we felt so welcomed by a sushi master and his wife. Many have asked us if it's worth making the 3-hour round-trip here, and simply put, our answer is yes. Better yet: we will be back 😌 #sushisibz_obana
This is not a normal rojak. This is my hubby's favorite, the popular "Sei Pou" (meaning Four Treasures) at Siham & Lala Capitol Seafood. The four treasures are grilled fuchuk, grilled tofu, yau char kwai, and fish cake, it comes with some fresh cucumber cubes. The grilling gives this dish a distinctive flavor. Yummy! 😋
This eatery is actually at a shop lot backlane. If I've not mistaken, there are 2 different shops on this lane. The other one is famously known as Longkang Siham Bungaraya. We've tried both but both tasted similar to us. (Bear in mind that we only come here once in a blue moon ya! 😆)
Many people will come here for their siham, which is my favorite. So how could I miss that right? And blessedly, I've got the last plate of siham.✌🏻 I heard from the boss to those who came after me that siham is sold out. It would really be a bummer if I was them.😕

Best tonkatsu I’ve had tbh. Immediately made me go “wow”!! The batter outside was thin and crispy while the pork inside was juicy and tender. I don’t think it could have been cooked any better tbh. Amazing. 👏🏼
Cockle bibimbap took me to flavour townnnn!! 🤩Each spoonful was kept interesting with all the different textures and punchy flavours. I was also pleasantly surprised with the generous amount of cockles 😊
Both stellar dishes that I wouldn’t hesitate recommending 👌🏼. The menu is limited compared to other Korean restaurants but hey, quality is always more important than quantity. And it seems like they’ve nailed what’s on offer 😉 (heck I even enjoyed the side dishes 😂 that pumpkin soup especially 🤤 sweet and delicious!).
Bonus points for service and although #ManokPark is quite small, it’s cozy and comfortable 👍🏼

10 biji Cili Padi Merah kalau nak kurang pedas boleh kurangkan atau nak lagi pedas boleh tambah lagi.(Ditumbuk halus)
5 biji limau nipis atau ikut suka masam, dan ambik airnya
5 biji bawang putih dicincang halus
2 sudu kecil gula pasir ikut suka
1 biji Tomato dibuang bijinya dan dipotong kecil-kecil
Daun Ketumbar dicincang halus
Timun kecil potong 2 dan rendam dahulu dalam air (hiasan)
1 sudu kecil Ajinomoto atau Maggi cukup rasa
Semua bahan dicampurkan sekali letak tepi.
Kerang 1 kilo dicuci bersih direbus sekejap separuh masak, dan buang kulit sebelah sahaja.
Kemudian dah siap kerang curahkan semua bahan-bahan tadi atas kerang. ~Selamat Mencuba~
