Repost from Mark Serkin @serkin_cello 👏🏻✨ “The Bach Cello Suites are a fantastic collection of music that evolves with the cellist as time goes on. I'm thankful to @oh_story for allowing me the opportunity to capture what my Bach Sarabande sounds like right now. I'm sure as time goes on, I'll play it differently. Maybe it'll be faster, definitely more in tune, who knows? Time will tell. Please check out the full video on YouTube via the link in my bio. And of course, please head over to @oh_story to see his photography work and other video work! Let me know what you think! Feedback is welcome. As well as disagreement 😉” #collegeofperformingarts#mannesschoolofmusic#thenewschool#mannesstudent

How was everyone’s first week back from spring break?! Back to practice, practice!🙌🏻 Loved this @kevinmaacello ⭐️ Repost: “8am-10pm today at school!
More rehearsals, lessons, coaching, and school performances are coming up this week!!
Despite my 14 hours at Mannes, I’m so happy to have this old German Cello from David Segal’s shop here in Manhattan. This cello has really expanded the palette of colors in my musical arsenal. I have it until Friday but I have a feeling I will be revisiting this cello soon. As an added bonus...the wood is beautiful 😍” #collegeofperformingarts#copapresents#thenewschool#mannesstudent
We are excited to present a Mannes Opera production of Kurt Weill’s Street Scene this spring. Considered by Weill himself to be an "American opera" - a synthesis of European opera and American musical theater - Street Scene combines a rigorous operatic style with a distinctively American story. Under the leadership of new Managing Artistic Director Emma Griffin, the Mannes Opera is deeply invested in exposing students to work that will challenge them musically, intellectually and artistically. May 3 & 4 at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College. Tickets via bit.ly/MannesOpera. #collegeofperformingarts#copapresents#mannesschoolofmusic#thenewschool#mannesopera#streetscene@mannesopera@thenewschool
