  • Day 5, still not been shot but came close and nearly died.
Started off on some very quiet long 70mph roads. So quiet that I could stop in the middle of the road and take photos, maybe too quiet...
Drove past the tonopah test range where the F-117A nighthawks (stealth fighter) live.
Then I proceeded to follow instructions I'd read on a random website to travel 15 or so miles down dirt roads to the location of "project faultless" where the US military had a steel pipe drilled down 3200 feet and dropped a nuclear bomb down to see the effects.
Close by were some native petroglyphs well worth checking out!
I then saw "lunar crater" which was used to train apollo astronauts.
Next stop was the extraterrestrial highway and a little stop off at the little a'le'inn for food and tips...
Following their map I found the remains of the black mailbox which is a meeting point for ufologists...
Next stop, another dirt road... To area 51!
This was quite a well maintained road, and I had to drive around 15 miles to get there. As I got closer and closer the nerves kicked in, then as I dropped through a valley the gates became visible and a military truck was perched on a hill observing me. I took a few photos of the sign saying no photos and made my merry way back...
Nearly...
About half way back there was a load bang, and then the warning lights came on the dash, a flat tyre...
So there I was, in the middle of the desert, not seen another car on the road, by myself and no phone signal!! Thankfully I can change a wheel...
Then I dropped in to Vegas and caught the absinthe show, really good circus spectacular, would recommend! A good way to wind down after an eventful day 👽👽👽🛸🛸🛸
