  • • MythicMay ~ Day 23/24/25 ~ Paiyuk / Gryphon / X’olotl •
:
:
Getting caught up😬 again. :
:
:
Paiyuk- Coming from the western Ute tribe of Native Americans, the Paiyuk is a man eating water elk. It is large, powerful, and very dangerous. The only way to kill the Paiyuk is by trapping it in a water tight space until it dehydrates. :

Gryphon- A mythological hybrid creature that was popular throughout Ancient Egypt and Persia throughout the Renaissance age. It originated in Greek and Roman texts, and later even became a symbol of Christian power. However, all cultures that adopted this lion/eagle have dubbed it a guardian of the precious: typically gold or treasure. It has been a revered symbol for the majority of human history. :

X’olotl- In Aztec mythology, X’olotl is the god of lightning and death. He is highly associated with the sunset and heavenly fire, and his story tells of his duty to lead the sun across the sky in its journey to the underworld every night. Similarly, they also lead souls on their journeys to the underworld. X’olotl is typically depicted as a man with a dogs head or a skeleton. He is the brother of Quetzalcoatl, and is also a deity of sickness, deformity, misfortunes, and twins. :
