We learn from our mistakes and it’s a given that you’re going to see some sort of “failure” in any sport you take part in. One of my favorite aspects of sports like CrossFit (or Gymnastics, Olympic Weightlifting, etc.) is that you’re in a lot of control even when you do fail. Learning to fail WELL is paramount to staying healthy and progressing as an athlete.

While we’re building strength and skill we should also be aware of what we’ll do when something goes wrong. That means knowing how to bail from a failed box jump, dump a barbell you can’t stand up, miss a deadlift without rounding your back, or roll out of a handstand.
.
If you’re not sure if you can safely execute a movement, make sure you know how you’ll safely exit it. Here’s a collection of a few of my failures for your viewing pleasure. Thanks for QWOD2 @x45fitness - box jumps are from you guys! And thank you for all the support @kerianne_h 😝

  • Hoy analice tres maneras distintas de hacer banca, para ver a la cual se le puede sacar más provecho.

La primera fue un press con un leg drive mas estático, la segunda con leg drive más dinámico y la última sin leg drive.

En el primero, es más fácil no separar el glúteo del banco a la hora de empezar el empuje, también note una menor velocidad de despegue, lo que me hizo llegar al punto de estancamiento algo más lento y sufrirlo más, note una tensión mayor sobre el pectoral durante todo el recorrido. En resumen, me fue más fácil mantener una postura, técnica y empuje mejores, aunque el nivel de esfuerzo percibido fue enorme.

En el segundo, es más fácil separar el glúteo del banco en el empuje, ya que es un empuje más fuerte y rápido y es fácil empujar el suelo hacia abajo y que se levante el glúteo. Bastante más velocidad en el inicio del empuje, lo que permite llegar al punto de estancamiento con mayor velocidad y se sufre algo menos. Hablando de la técnica es un poco más compleja y al aflojar ligeramente la cadera antes del empuje hay que tener cuidado para no desapretar Core y zona escapular. En resumen, me ayuda a rendir más pero hay que estar mucho más focalizado en la técnica.

Y sin leg drive.... a nivel de rendimiento no es lo óptimo, también tengo que decir que estoy completamente desadaptado a este tipo de técnica.
