  • Does this missed lift look familiar? Athletes who continue to pull the bar straight up after it passes the knees have to compensate by shifting their body forward into an off balance ‘power position.’ This then kicks the bar forward and loops it over the head.❌

If this is you, think about pulling the bar back into your hips after it passes the knee. This will help bring you into a more balanced power position to direct a more vertical bar path on the next portion of the lift.✅

As you can see, this small cue can make a huge difference in how balanced the lifter is as the bar makes contact with the hips.🏋🏼‍♀️

Also try this test. Assume an All 4’s position on the ground, bring you arm up to a “Y” position and try to hold it there as a friend attempts to push it down. Could you hold it up or did the slightest pressure cause your arm to drop?📝👇🏼

This test is screening for the strength and stability of your shoulder that is provided by the posterior shoulder and shoulder blade muscles. Common imbalances leave these muscles weak and unable to provide sufficient stability for the arm which can make it difficult to control the barbell overhead.🏋🏼‍♀️

If this was you, try this exercise. Grab a band and pull it up and out at a diagonal. Hold for 3-5 seconds before coming back down. If this angle is too easy, turning towards the attachment of the band makes the exercise more difficult. If you're doing this right after 10-15 reps with pauses you should feel the muscles on the back of your shoulder working hard. Try 2-3 sets prior to your next workout if this problem today is an issue for you!🙌🏼

  • 19.1 made me look very very un fit and was very humbling. It was probably my worst placed workout I’ve had in the past 2 opens.  I am still proud of my efforts towards that workout and it showed me that my hard work on changing my mentality towards things to be more positive is working. In the past i would have probably got depressed and placing that low would have effected me very negatively. -

19.2 made me realize that I’m stronger than I give myself credit for sometimes and was really fun. I always love the repeat workouts because you get to see how you change throughout the year. -

19.3 was a wheel house workout for me. I was able to squeeze out a top 10 score. It also made me realize that I need to spend some time stretching and mobilizing because I was legit so tight in my upper back from that workout..literally days. -

19.4 was another workout that was right up my alley. The first part felt like Fran to me. And I love Fran. I was also literally drained for days after but I enjoy workouts that make me push past limits! I was able to pull another top score on this one as well. -

  • 19.1 made me look very very un fit and was very humbling. It was probably my worst placed workout I’ve had in the past 2 opens. I am still proud of my efforts towards that workout and it showed me that my hard work on changing my mentality towards things to be more positive is working.   • No podría estar más feliz. Hace un mes o dos estaba deprimida por que estaba con dolor crónico de espalda. Solo quería estar tirada en la cama sin moverme. Era lo único que me calmaba el dolor. Otro días lloraba por que solo con manejar un poco ya tenía mucho dolor otra vez. Estar sentada era horrible. No estoy diciendo que ya estoy del todo bien. Pero voy a mi fisioterapia y en casa trabajo mis ejercicios para irme recuperando poco a poco. Ya no tengo el aire que tenía antes para entrenar. Me cuesta tanto. Pero decidí meterme al Open para animarme. No pensé que pudiera hacer nada. Haber llegado las 19.4 es un gran logro para mi. Espero poco a poco seguir ganando fuerza en mi espalda. Pero sin duda no hay nada que me haga más feliz que poder entrenar y con las personas que tanto quiero. Gracias a todos en @crossfit502 por siempre darme ánimos, a mi familia crosfitera! Y no queda más que seguir para adelante. Siempre cuidándome y fortaleciendo poco a poco. 
Gracias a @eatpaleogt y a @selvyn_ponciano por las porras de hoy. Ayudó mucho. Ya no quería más. Y sobre todo a @eatpaleogt por mis fotos lindas! .

  • Você já pensou em desistir? Talvez influenciado por comentários negativos... "Isso não vai dar em nada! Você não vai emagrecer! Você não é forte o bastante! Você não é capaz!" - Muitas das vezes esses comentários vem inclusive de pessoas queridas que acham que assim vão nos "proteger"... Se você escolheu fazer diferente e ser melhor. No fitness, no trabalho, em casa, como um ser humano de forma geral; a jornada será árdua. 
O conceito da FORJA é justamente esse! Nada cai do céu. E se for pra ser melhor de verdade não desista! Siga em frente! Eu não te conheço ainda... Mas sei que você pode grandes coisas. Pode derrotar a depressão, você é mais forte que essa compulsão alimentar, você é mais forte que uma debilidade física. Você não está sozinho(a)  nessa luta! Pratique atividades físicas regulares. Se necessário, se consulte com um nutricionista. Procure apoio de pessoas que treinam há mais tempo. Faça sobretudo tudo isso por você!

  • When I started do pull-ups I can’t even do once. Now I do pull-ups before every back training and see how my back growing!🙈 Of course now I’m doing more than once or twice, for example today I did 8 reps in first set, in second I did 5 reps and in last 3 reps!

Now I’m thinking about start adding some weight to build back muscles better!💪🏼

  • У многих встаёт вопрос зачем заниматься спортом если я хорошо выгляжу?? 🤔😁 Вот что я могу сказать у людей, занимающихся спортом (даже у непрофессиональных спортсменов) здоровье в разы крепче, чем у не занимающихся им. И это не просто так: занятия спортом усиливают сердце, нормализуют кровяное давление, благотворно воздействуют на работу всех жизненно важных систем организма, а также улучшают мозговую активность и замедляют процессы старения. 
После физических упражнений человек практически всегда чувствует прилив сил, пусть даже он устал физически; его моральный дух на высоте, психическое состояние – прекрасное, жизненный тонус максимально активизирован. Не зря говорят, что спорт – лучшее средство от депрессии, ведь он помогает на время отстраниться от проблем и неприятностей и посмотреть на них под другим углом, а это, ко всему прочему, помогает отдохнуть и психике.

Думаю после прочтения этой статьи многие из вас хотя бы задумаются 🤔

  • 130lb power clean followed by front squat (Jerk was skipped and @gelato_54 reaction was funny. Max 3 years ago was 135lb squat clean. Love finally making it past 125lb again). The hype is real!!! It does matter who you surround yourself with, where you go, and where you focus your attention. Set Goals & Plans. Put in effort to be better tomorrow than today. Give your plans to God and Dream big!!!

  • This warm weather has caught me totally off guard! I must find my summer body post haste. I’m eating chicken and veggies as I post this video of me lifting 135# for 3 in an overhead squat. If you’re at the gym and catch me sandbagging please kick my ass and remind me of this post until further notice. 😂 #crossfit #kindafitkindafat #fitish #strongaf

I don’t know anyone that has a posterior chain too strong.
.
Lots of people are quads dominant and that’s definitely not cool (nobody likes a flat ass or an ACL surgery 🤷‍♂️).
.
Get to the gym and try to feel your hamstrings work on one of those exercise. Spend as much time as needed, do as many sets, reps, change the weight, use a barbell, a KB, DB etc... but feel your hamstrings !

Go do your homework people and let me know which of those was the most effective for you or if you didn’t feel anything.
