  • No class on MLK day meant nobody on campus 😏🛹 One my my favorite quotes from him goes, “the time is always right to do what is right”. This man had a dream and executed. Shoutout to Dr Martin Luther King Jr for his activism in the Civil rights movement only 60 years ago (and the fact that we all got a day off on Monday because of him) 💯
.
BTW, @suspiciousantwerp doesn’t think I made the train - but they’re wrong 😉

  • Can’t believe I’m only 5 months away from finishing my Business/Marketing degree at @portlandstate. Unfortunately I saved all the hard classes for the end and have a STACKED schedule to finish on time, but I couldn’t be more stoked to push through and begin the next chapter of my life. At least PSU is a fun campus to skate around on!

  • Polimento técnico com lixamento de pintura. Nesse caso o carro sofreu uma colisão no paralama direito e foi repintado. Com isso foi preciso retirar as cascas de laranja que fica na pintura após o secamento dela. Voltando assim o brilho e a cor. Cabra retado esse!

  • "🇨🇳 Anshan-class destroyer" •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 🇨🇳 Ex-Rekordy (renamed Anshan) Chinese Gnevny-class destroyer at the Qingdao Naval Museum, China, August 24th, 2017. She was one of the Chinese Navy’s first modern warship purchased from the Soviets, after the Second World War. • photo via commons.wikimedia.org - attribution: StefanTsingtauer ———————————————————————— At the start of the Second Sino-Japanese War in July 1937 ..the Chinese Navy was virtuality annihilated early on by the Imperial Japanese Air Force and Navy. All of {it’s} cruisers and other minor vessels had either been sunk by bomber aircraft or captured by Japanese troops at Shanghai by September 1937. A year later ..with the war having switched entirely to ground and air combat ..the Japanese attempted to refloat and repair some of the half-sunk Chinese warships and succeeded in repairing both Ning Hai class light cruisers. The Ioshima {ex-Ning Hai} was sunk by a USN submarine in September 1944 ..and Yasoshima {ex-Ping Hai} was attacked and sunk by U.S. Navy aircraft in November of 1944. ———————————————————————— A few years after the end of the Second World War ..and with a Communist government in power, the (PLAN) People’s Liberation Army Navy was formed in 1950. It first tried to acquire frigates and destroyers from the United Kingdom ..but because of the Korean War, no British ships were received. So the People’s Republic of China turned to the Soviets. Their first surface ships were former heavily worn-out Gnevnys. ———————————————————————— Four ..Anshan (101), Fushun (102), Changchun (103), and Taiyuan (104) arrived to the People’s Republic of China in 1954 and 1955. During the Korean War ..while there had been vast direct participation by communist Chinese soldiers and their air force, no Chinese naval assets came to help the North Koreans. While the PLAN did have one Arethusa class light cruiser ..the Kuang Chou, it was actually salvaged from being sunk in 1949 by Nationalist aircraft, thus being used a hulk and barracks ship until the 1990s. #MiltaryHistoryofAsia
