  • Specifically for @jenplants2 The ostrocod invasion. These little crustaceans just....appeared.... In the water tray. They seem to feed@on the decaying organic material that collected at the bottom so I just sorta left em. #ostrocod#crustacean

  • Crab I caught last summer! Definitely was a baby male. For some reason I tried scraping the algae off his back. 🤦‍♀️😂
🌊SPLASH FACT: In the first video, check out the way he moves his antennas. Since crabs have poor eye sight, they have to depend for their antennas for smelling and seeing. That’s how they sense their environment.

Remember, we only have one planet!
Life is precious, like this tiny hermit crab whose path I crossed on Grande Anse beach, Mahé last summer 💚

  • ✨ HAPPY 🌏 DAY! 🎉 Pictured here is the Zanzibar whip coral shrimp, Dasycaris zanzibarica 🦐. The first shot gives you an idea of how small these guys are and how easy it is to miss them. The second photo is a close up 🔍 shot of the shrimpies, which are oftentimes found in pairs 👫 and the female is the larger of them! 💪 Very glad we got to see them ☺️☺️

  • Queequeg is finally ready for his Instagram debut. He is an absolute delight ~ doesn’t his shell remind you of an ice cream cone? 🍦 He’s living in luxury with plenty of food, pools, and dirt. (No worries, I only had him on top of the tank for less than 5 minutes as I changed out the water) 💕🐚

  • My crew found this lovely female (and a few more) with her eggs while we were in the outback. Of course we promptly put her back. #crawfish #crayfish #roe #crustacean
