I absolutely love watching the mist in the trees, but it seems a little early this year. Definitely not the September I had in mind, kinda feels like Halloween is around the corner! 👻

  • I have to admit, this was one of the best concerts that I’ve ever gone to! Granted, I haven’t gone to that many concerts but I had a lot of fun and it was really memorable. I was never really a huge Backstreet Boys fan but I recognized a ton of their songs and the sing along element was huge. That definitely made it more fun and the crowd interaction brought the experience to a whole new level. When everyone is belting it out as loud as they can the level of energy is sizzling and you can’t help but get hyped up and excited. Performance wise, they were pretty entertaining and they sang all of their classics. It’s something I would do again but not at that price for floor seats. However, I found it interesting that they’re performing in Macau next month at the Venetian and I’ll be there around that time. I’m not sure I want to see them again so soon but it would be kind of funny to go again. Plus they offer VIP packages for meet and greet and personal photo opportunities and the cost is $500 US plus the purchase of your ticket. It’s definitely a heavy price to pay to go by yourself but I’m all about checking off the bucket list and it would be awfully hilarious to check off the ‘go to a concert by yourself and get the VIP photo’ Realistically this probably won’t happen because I’m not that gung ho to go again and I’d rather spend my money at Robuchon au Dome and take a ton of food pictures. But gambling and poker always happen in Macau and if I should win a ton of money then I’ll quit playing games with my heart.

  • Have you ever had mazesoba? I had to give it a try when I saw that Vancity had a famous spot. I tried the namesake and my brother got the one with chashu added. If you’re Taiwanese, you’ll find the flavor familiar (my mom made minced pork dry noodles a lot for us as kids); what’s unique here is the raw egg and ground saba among the ingredients (Kokoro adds 11 toppings).
-
Mazesoba: means “mixed soba” in Japanese. A Taiwanese owner of a ramen shop in Nagoya, Japan back in the ‘70s created a very spicy ramen with lots of chilli pepper and minced meat. It became popular, and people thought Taiwanese ramen was very spicy. Skip to 2008. A ramen chef created a soupless version of this “Taiwanese ramen” and it became mazesoba. Yay Taiwan for influencing Japanese cuisine 😆
🍜Tokyo mazesoba (spicy minced pork) • Zenbu mazesoba (chashu + spicy minced pork)
📍Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba | Vancouver 🇨🇦
