USE A SIMPLE TIME LADDER TO STRUCTURE AN UNSTRUCTURED DAY
Found yourself with a whole day stretching ahead of you and nothing to break it up? You've got two options - take the day to yourself (highly recommended) or sit yourself down and block out the day into manageable pockets of time. In your planner, draw a timeline for the day (or, if you're a digital fan, use the day view) and then take a look at everything you want to get done that day. Estimate how long each will take you, and mark out that amount of time on your timeline to get it done. This will give you both a realistic overview of what you can actually get done, and means the "what should I do next?" question is already answered. But don't forget to add in some rest time, too! Just because you can schedule every minute of the day doesn't mean you should...

THINGS GETTING TOUGH? GET YOURSELF A ROUTINE FALLBACK. .
Let's be honest - we can have the best of intentions, some excellent plans laid out and a solid routine in place, but sometimes life gets in the way. Whether it's simply that a project takes priority over everything else, your health dips or a big life event occurs, it's possible to keep things moving (or at least remaining steady). My favourite way to do this is to have a 'fallback list' - things I can do every day to help keep me okay. Basic things, like waking up by a certain time (but also taking a nap if I need), drinking water or doing my daily crossword - and a reminder to be kind to myself when I'm not as productive as my mind would like me to be. I might not be making progress towards my long-term goals, but these basic maintenance tasks keep me ticking over. And they're all quick tasks too - a few minutes or so, so that they feel very achievable. I love the feeling of being able to tick them off on an otherwise chaotic day, knowing I've done something good for myself.

ROUTINE AS RHYTHM : THE BEAT THAT YOU BUILD YOUR DAY UPON.
Too often when we begin work on setting ourselves up with a routine, we create a tiimetable of sorts, with activities and tasks scheduled in with varying degrees of precision throughout our day. But there is a more nuanced approach to routine, one that allows for the flexibility that your creative self sometimes needs. Try thinking of routines as a rhythm to set your day to - an underlying drum beat that you are free to create the melody over. It's there to give structure and consistency while allowing for fluctuations; in your workload, your motivation, your energy. One day can be a complex concerto, the next a simple solo (have I stretched this musical metaphor far enough yet?). You can begin to rely on your days to provide you with however much space and freedom you need right then.
Whoch kind of days get you craving some kind of routine? For me, it's days when I'm waiting for something to happen - we had an engineer visit scheduled to fix our WiFi a few weeks ago and I struggled to get ANYTHING done during the obscenely long appointment window...

It’s definitely not easy to wake up every day and want to do the things that will bless you & make your life better but I promise they’ll be worth it! Sticking to my daily routine of working on my body, mind and spirit has really changed my life for the better and has helped me see my own version of success. What is one thing you can start doing daily to change your life?

Since returning from my hiatus, things have been busy. Writing new content, taking pictures, and figuring out the direction of my businesses.
Success does come from a little luck, but it also comes from a crap ton of hard work. So sometimes you just have to buckle down and #doallthethings especially if you want to live the life you want to live.
Most days have consisted of my laptop, my bullet journal, and iced lattes. Couldn't ask for a better way to work!

This mess is my eternal battle. Dishes. Growing up my mom modeled an excellent dish washing routine, so I have no excuse 😅 This is a humbling area for me, the most telling by far when I'm not at my best emotionally.
It feels wonderful to open a cabinet and be able to reach right in for what I'm intending to use instead of problem solving and compromising that I can use a large measuring cup in place of a bowl, and that a spoon is preferable but a fork will do. My family is happier with things are just done-it is easier to go have fun without neglected chores weighing on our minds.
So often the things that weigh on me are in a self perpetuated cycle. I'm not going to completely solve all my problems by doing dishes, but doing them will indeed help. It's okay to find myself stuck, but it is not okay to let myself stay stuck. Expecting perfection isn't helpful, but setting a realistic goal to wash dishes everyday for a week is doable.
It will make meals easier (clean cooking equipment means more thoughtfully prepared food, and dishes to eat on), less mess=less stress, and my family will enjoy a little bit lighter of a feeling. We will be able to use the countertop. I will gain a week of self respect for doing dishes instead of a week of disappointment.

This is the moisturiser that I’ve been using day and night for the past two months; however it’s finished! It was extremely hydrating, made my skin glow and look fresh, however I won’t be buying this again due to it’s expensive and I could purchase a drugstore moisturiser which would do the same.
