Today at the gym someone asked me if I was training for something. I laughed and shook my head and said, ‘no, I’m just doing it for me.’ I’m not working out to have a six pack or to have big guns (am I even flexing properly?). I workout because I want to be the healthy and strong. I workout because I want to be better than the person I was yesterday. I workout because I enjoy pushing myself until I can’t go any farther, mentally and physically.
I’ve been consistently going to the gym for five years. Shit, I should be ripped! I even had a trainer for a little while. The very first day he told me that unless I change my diet, I won’t see the results I want. You know what I did? I googled. I googled what to eat, when to eat, I tried cleanses, counting calories, diet fads, you name it. I tried it.
Fast forward to Mandee right here right now, he was right, but I went about my diet all wrong. I made gains, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t until four months ago that I finally started seeing the results that I’ve been working the past FIVE years for. You know why? Because in January I did my first 30 day challenge with @arbonne which turned into 60 days which turned into 90 days... to here I am 🙋🏼♀️ Mandee 2.0
Not only am I stronger and healthier but I’m more knowledgeable. I’ve learned how to listen to what my body needs and how to take care of it. I’ve learned what foods fuel my body and what foods harm my body. I’m finally looking and feeling the way I’ve been wanting to the last five years and all it took was 30 days to get me on the right track.

Chia pudding cups make a quick easy breakfast, a healthy snack, or a tasty vegan dessert. Incredible no matter what time of day! .
1 cup almond milk (try @malkorganics )
1/2 cup organic blueberries
1 tablespoon sliced almonds (&/or cacao nibs)
2 tablespoons organic chia seeds
1/2 teaspoon organic vanilla bean powder.
Add ingredients to a 16 oz mason jar. Seal and shake. Refrigerate overnight. Enjoy!

This may just look like a loaf of #bananabread to you, but to me it is so much more. In this age of digital over-sharing, it’s a simple reminder that many of us have a lot going on behind the surface that we cannot share or just want to keep private. My sweet little boy has had some allergy issues this week (he handled it all like a champ!) and requested “Nana bread please.” This is his favorite variation of #dairyfree banana bread, based on recipe by my Grandma: •2 bananas so ripe they smell to high heaven
•2 duck eggs (or 3 chicken eggs)
•1/3 cup @miyokoscreamery cultured non-dairy butter, softened
•1/4 cup maple syrup or turbinado sugar
•2 tsp vanilla
•1/2 tsp sea salt
•1 tbsp Baking Powder • 2 cups @bobsredmill Paleo baking flour
Since our @vitamix blender was sent in for repairs (I MISS IT 😭), we have to get creative with how we have our superfoods every day. This recipe right here - MAJOR SCORE! Superfood chia pudding. ♥️

When the coffee does nothing 😑 after two days of freaking EARLY wake ups (WHY KIDDO WHY?!!). At least I got my workouts in (peep my stories 👀 and don’t worry, my caffeine is in check - I got this 💪🏼) and nutrition had been decent. YOU HAVE TO BE WELL - inside and out - in order for everyone else around you to be well too.
Get it mama. Today is just one day of many to come and tomorrow will be completely different. ♥️

Mindset y’all - if you say it is so, it is so. @jensincero says this all the time. I’m gonna go live at 1:30PST/3:30CST about how husband and I make meal prep work for us. Es importante recordar que si estás en una "dieta" en la cual estés más nervioso, ansioso y miserable que feliz y satisfecho pues no estás en la dieta correcta. Debe ser una decisión que te traiga lo que estás buscando, sentirte mejor tanto por dentro como por fuera💁🏻♀️
Hay muchas alternativas hoy en día para aquellos con dietas especiales y así no tienes que renunciar a ninguno de tus alimentos preferidos, sino incorporar versiones más saludables de los mismos, marcas locales como @firstname.lastname@example.org y marcas internacionales como @daiyafoods@bobsredmill@earthbalance entre muchas más han venido para quedarse y hacernos la vida más fácil a la hora de escoger este estilo de vida. .

I had 3 drinks yesterday, why do I feel slightly hungover. Kids, if you do a half marathon on a hot day, make sure you drink plenty of water and don't sit in the sun and have drinks instead .
I literally had one G&T , one glass of wine and one cocktail yesterday and I've somehow got a mild hangover 😂. Not sure if I'm just dehydrated or more likely in just old and can't handle my drink anymore .
Just drinking my #coconutflatwhite and already thinking about what stodgy carbs I want for lunch. I feel today might be a good day to try the m and s #plantkitchen Mac and cheese bites.

If you missed my story yesterday I joined a gym [by myself, which I have never done, I have always known someone or had someone to go with]. So now I’m not relying on anyone else...but it also means I need to get over my fear of being by myself. So I’m making the effort to set a new habit from the get go 👊🏻 -
I’m also continuing my steps goal from last week and would like to reach a min of 12,000 steps on Monday, Wednesday & Friday and reach a min of 17,000 steps on Tuesday & Thursday. -

Dear Momma... Thank you for a wonderful walk this morning and not giving up on us. Nobody wanted Baby Girl because she had mange and 2 owners brought me (Ozzy) back because I was "too much". We love you mom and especially driving you cray cray. Today we were extra behaved so you could have the best gift from a fur kid...time and attention.
