detail from a piece I did for my illustration class. I really want to work on this art page and do a lot more personal work this summer, but for now I like sneaking things into my assignments 🤫 (yes I fixed the cardinal in photoshop)
Found thre pair of shed antlers on our walk around our new property. I'm used to working with reindeer antler for the Scandinavian style knives I make, it will be interesting to see if these antlers will work as well
Wearing my own designed handmade beakshoes. Love that they work just as well going shopping in town as strolling through the forest
My first attempt at making a knife.even cut my finger in the process😂😂

There's a lesson in this picture, that as a dog owner, I find difficult to swallow...
There are some parks that prohibit dogs and therefore prohibit me. There were trails in this park which I could not hike and other trails which I could take Dana with me, close and leashed. As much as I dislike being restricted with where I hike because of my dog, I completely understand and agree.
I believe that due to these restrictions, this herd of deer felt safe enough to stand within a few yards of me and Dana. There was at least six, peacefully watching us walk, without fear. Coyotes and wolves have a natural place as apex predators. Domesticated dogs do not. As a lover of nature, I respect the necessity of places where nature runs her course without interference from domesticated animals. You will see pictures of Dana on my feed without a leash. In our defense, she is 25lbs, 7 years old and very well trained. She did not bark or try to chase the deer. I've had her sit and stay while I get close to wildlife before and she ignores other dogs and most people on the trail. I've worked very hard to have a respectful, obedient, mutt!
Still have yet to catch a coyote howling in front of one of my trail cams.. hopefully I get lucky this summer. You can hear one howling near by as the rabbit passes the @browningtrailcams Strike Force -

So my dad showed up for my birthday weekend and with him I finally got the one thing I asked for when they were packing up my grandparents place...the jackalope my grandpa always had in his office...it's hideous and creepy but I love it 😍😂
We've got family in Nebraska that are really into deer hunting and hook us up with some amazing Venison. This backstrap cut was grilled until medium rare, sliced, and then covered in melted butter infused with garlic and rosemary.
As soon as I am up, I brush my hair. I eat breakfast first: tea and brown bread, and sometimes a fresh fruit juice like orange or pineapple. I write notes on the previous day in my notebook, then I shower. - 142x210mm - 84 pages - horizontal lines - It is free to ask for more details 😉
