14th September 2019: I hope you're having a fine Saturday! Here's todays offering from the cutting garden (there's a LOT to list here): Dahlia 'April Heather', Rosa 'Lady Emma Hamilton', Rosa 'Champagne Moment', Acidanthera (now renamed as Gladiolus murielae), Thunbergia 'African Sunset', Eschscholzia 'Thai Silk Pink Champagne', Rudbeckia 'Sahara', Zinnia 'Queen Red Lime', Nasturtiums, Selinum wallichianum, Lonicera 'Graham Thomas', Clematis tangutica 'My Angel', Foeniculum vulgare, Rosa glauca foliage, Origanum vulgare, Helianthus, Gladiolus 'Indian Summer', Atriplex hortensis var. rubra, Plums, Blackberries, Sloes (Prunus spinosa) & Beechnuts. There are also leaves from a particularly lovely Rhododendron in the far corner of the main gardens, behind the grotto. I'm not sure of its name but its leaves look good all year round; they have a bronze coloured felty coating underneath, and they're deep green & glossy on top. Its flower buds are just beginning to form now so I felt a bit mean snipping them off (which is curious given that I make my living growing flowers for cutting 🤔)
Friday 13th 2019: Some favourite flowers in the cutting garden at the moment. I always look forward to seeing the Acidanthera in the garden but I don't think I've appreciated just how good its scent is until now👃

Just want to give a BIG shout out to @liarliaroswestry for delivering consistency. I know how difficult it gets sometimes to be able to serve at a high standards and customer services. But you guys kill it everytime, last time I was there Tom made me a Flat White, second time his staff made me one. Milk texture was exactly the same, good extraction and beautiful Latte Art.
Honesty if you have never been, make it your next stop you will never be disappointed. They have varies from espresso to brew bar. Amazing stuffs guys keep it up ❤️
What makes wild different? Why should you choose me for your big day?
Sustainability is a buzz word at the moment in the wedding world, used both by suppliers with our world at the heart of their business and others trying to cash in on trends. Wild has always been about sustainability - both in terms of using eco materials and collaborating with and sourcing from other local independents to support the local economy 🌿
You'll often catch me ordering new papers, colours, materials... To compare finishes and quality. My products are the result of lots of research and graft 💪 meaning not only are they the best damn thing since sliced (seeded 🤤) bread... But they're insane value for money too 🙌
Now live on the wild website. Let's work together 😍
looking back over a busy start to September and thinking how great it is to be surrounded by so much creativity. The Markets, workshops & people that I get to call my business and colleagues is all pretty amazing & over 11 years of running my business have two days been the same 💛

One of my absolute favourite things to do. Swimming in the river with my boy 🐕 (and my lass, and anyone else who will go in too!) I just love swimming outdoors. The wilder, the quieter, the better. It seems to press the reset button, and makes me feel alive and tingly afterwards. We are off to Scotland soon, and plan to submerge as often as possible. Anyone else love it? #wildswimminguk#riverswimming#derwent#derbyshire

Today, there is a 'Chatty Cafe' taking place at Providence Church between 3pm and 5pm. Everyone is welcome to pop in for a coffee, cake and company at this free event. Later in the day, also at the Providence Church, there will be an evening of poetry, sound, story and sharing in 'Elementals'. Led by experienced Celebrant and writer Keli Tomlin, this promises to be an evening of inspiration, community and connection with the wild powers of Nature.
Before the events at the Providence Church, however, you will have another opportunity to view some stunning art which is being exhibited in the windows of nearly 70 local shops and businesses as part of the Art Trail. Details of all the artists exhibiting, together with an Art Trail Map, are contained in the Festival Brochure and are also available on our website.
You can also view over 60 poems, from established poets to beginners, that are on display in shop windows and other locations throughout the town, as part of New Mills Poetry Trail. Make your shopping and strolling a bit more poetic during the Festival! Poetry Trail maps are available in shops and businesses taking part in the trail or you can download a copy from our website.
Finally, Day 6 also provides you with another opportunity to have a taster session at the Alternative Health Clinic or view a number of art exhibitions which are taking place over the Festival Fortnight. These include 'Wild about ceramics' at New Mills Library, Pete Kelly's 'Photo Encaustic Exhibition' at New Mills Golf Club, an exhibition by Disley Arts Society at New Mills Heritage Centre and an art exhibition at Pulse Cafe.
For details of all events, see the events section on Facebook or visit www.newmillsfestival.com
