  • Why can't you choose what you forget ... and what you remember?

There’s a lot Zoey would like to forget. Like how her father has knocked up his twenty-four-year old girlfriend. Like Zoey’s fear that the whole town will find out about her mom’s nervous breakdown. Like darkly handsome bad boy Doug taunting her at school. Feeling like her life is about to become a complete mess, Zoey fights back the only way she knows how, using her famous attention to detail to make sure she’s the perfect daughter, the perfect student, and the perfect girlfriend to ultra-popular football player Brandon.  But then Zoey is in a car crash, and the next day there’s one thing she can’t remember at all--the entire night before. Did she go parking with Brandon, like she planned? And if so, why does it seem like Brandon is avoiding her? And why is Doug--of all people-- suddenly acting as if something significant happened between the two of them? Zoey dimly remembers Doug pulling her from the wreck, but he keeps referring to what happened that night as if it was more, and it terrifies Zoey to admit how much is a blank to her. Controlled, meticulous Zoey is quickly losing her grip on the all-important details of her life--a life that seems strangely empty of Brandon, and strangely full of Doug.

  • Explorers ❤️
We have lots of new little Explorers who have moved up from our Woddlers so our provision needs to reflect this...
We have gone back to basics with our construction using large wooden and cardboard blocks and a big mirror so the children can see themselves while they are building as they loved viewing themselves in the mirrors in our Woddler room ❤️
We have introduced a small world area indoor and out as some of the new children love dinosaur figures and have loved sharing farm stories in Woddlers with finger puppets ❤️
We have also stripped back our atelier as we know that the new children love exploring paint so we are encouraging them to choose tools and explore media independently ❤️
The most important part of our new provision will be the observations that our staff make to see how the children interact with the provision and resources and also spend time developing relationships with their new key children, to tune in and recognise their interests and identify next steps....❤️

  • STORYTIME!
Okay before I begin with my story, I'd like to say that when working with children, it is SO important to develop and maintain a healthy and positive relationships with children! If you find that you're unable to, leave your job. Simple as that!

Without any relationship with a child you are unable to develop their skills. The first thing you do when trying to develop a child's skill is to build a relationship get to know them.

When it comes to a child who is shy or introverted, it can be really difficult.

This is what my story is about.

Just a few weeks ago when I started at my new centre. In the afternoon, I noticed one of the preschoolers were standing alone fiddling with his fingers and touching the wall etc. I approached him and asked what was wrong. Without making eye contact he said softly "I want my Mummy." I introduced myself and offered to play with him. And again, Without making any eye contact with me, he shrugged his shoulders. I then grabbed a teddy bear and talking in a funny voice, I then pretended to make the teddy give him a hug. He just looked at me expressionless and walked off.

The next week I again introduced myself. The same thing happened, the shoulder shrugs, and the walking off with an expressionless face. The week after I worked in the preschool for the day and noticed him playing alone with some dinosaurs. I decided to sit down and join him. I asked him questions about the dinosaurs which he answered. Later that day I I hid behind objects played a simple game of peek-a-boo by hiding behind "large" objects with a few children. He noticed this and decided to play along and laughed.

This week on Monday he was upset because his "only" friend went home. So I decided to sit with him so he didn't feel alone. I decided to play a game of catch and threw a small stick at him. As we played this simple he I noticed he was holding back a few laughs. *Continues in comments section*

  • One of the blessings that comes with our school community, Pre-K through 12, is the opportunity for cross-grade learning and mentoring relationships. This happens when elementary and secondary classes are paired up for activities, reading time, and more. Yesterday, our high school Speech students read books to their kindergarten buddies. This may seem small when stacked up against all a student is learning in their day at SJCS, but it is powerful to both groups of students. We believe these experiences are invaluable for enhancing academics, strengthening character development, building confidence and friendships, as well as fostering leadership across grade levels. SJCS is happy to be a school that is home to a family of learners, across the grades, who support and care for each other. #kindergartenbuddies #mentoring #developingrelationships #modelingleadership

  • Isn't this the topic of conversation for a lot of parents around screen time, what is acceptable, what is too much etc, and I think personally it is our choice.
I know I spend too much time on screens and so telling my daughter to stay off them is a little double standards, plus with 6 being the favoured number for us to wake up to in my house screens give me some extra zs.
Now on of the biggest problems with screens is the isolation it brings to young people. They my argue it helps them stay connected to their friends, but research has shown that what we all need to stay emotionally healthy is good old face to face contact with people
So my challenge to you all this week (if this is an issue for you) is for you to turn off screens for an extra half an hour and do something with your children that encourages that face to face interaction.
I would love to know how it goes, and one thing we always say is that we need to model good behaviour, so get involved.
Us parents could make an extra effort to see or speak to someone we haven't seen for a while as well.

  • Comfort vs not comfortable

God calls us out of our comfort zones a lot for a reason.

Relationships.

Our lives tend to remain in seasons of comfortability, but it’s not until we step out of our comfort zone when we really make a difference.

Get used to the uncomfortability. Relationships are totally worth it.

Story 20 centers on how personal relationships can develop into excellent client relationships. When Jeff Kramer's daughter enrolled at @barrieschool it wasn’t long before he realized it was a special place. Wanting to contribute, Jeff volunteered for committees that needed his architecture and project management expertise. For 10 years Jeff has served on Barrie's Board of Trustees and he is currently co-chair of the Buildings and Grounds (B&G) Committee.
Barrie is located on a beautiful, wooded 40-acre campus that is much admired and adored by the students, faculty, and visitors. In his role on the B&G Committee, Jeff is working with his co-chair and the committee to improve facilities, infrastructure, wayfinding, and campus maintenance. Jeff has been involved with several major accomplishments including two new middle and upper school buildings (the Research Learning Lab and the Learning Studio) as well as the design and management of a new building for elementary school students (Rothschild Hall). This year Jeff and fellow Trustees were honored with a plaque to be mounted in Rothschild Hall. As Jeff looks back, he says, “I am proud to be a part of this amazing place, see people enjoy the buildings, and give back to the students."

⁣
⚡️It is impossible to educate the mind without involving the body. Learning is thinking and movement integrated.⁣

We strongly value teaching our children critical thinking skills that will allow them to be able to use their mind to the fullest to make the best decisions for themselves.⁣

It’s wayyyyy more than just sports. It’s about growing the mind and becoming a good leader for today and tomorrow.⁣

  • Top reason why we love movement

it brings people together.

There’s a beautiful thing about movement and how it connects people. There’s no age limit, no reason for language barrier—literally just going after being our best selves TOGETHER.

Check out our link in the bio for more info.

  • I cannot believe today marks the last day of my Personal Leadership Experiment. Three weeks went by fast. I believe that I have improved on the behavior of Inspiring a Shared Vision of promoting the Angels Rodeo and developing relationships with my co-workers and peers throughout the process. Before the experiment, I was hesitant to advertise the Angels Rodeo because I thought not many people would be interested in the event. It is encouraging to know that my Aggie peers truly support and love me. Today, I worked with my research methods group on our Quantitative Research project. It is a very hard process. Our end goal is to see the results of how close relationships are formed through dating apps. Through getting to know each other, I discovered that we all share a similar interest of loving theatre, as I was in the spring play in high school and both girls are in the OPAS student organization. Both girls were excited to hear about the Angels Rodeo and want to volunteer when the application opens in January. #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301

  • I went to see the movie, The 13th Man, tonight. The 13th man, John Comstock almost died during the Bonfire Collapse on November 18, 1999. The newspaper almost stated that he was the 13th fatality. Now, John is a motivational speaker that lives to tell his story of his vision to graduate from Texas A&M University. If he can do it, we can do it. Through the tragedy, Aggies prayed with one another and everyone supported each other. Mr. Comstock was a guest speaker in one of my classes and I was not able to tell him about the Angels Rodeo, however I believe that he is a man of great character and would be proud of me for hosting this event. The one thing I love about the Aggie spirit is that we are all connected and we love and support each other. We lean on each other in times of trial and tribulations and do not give up when challenges arise. #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301

  • My sweet friend gave me a necklace and this card on Ring Day. I met her studying abroad in Greece this summer. We have developed a relationship over the semester through our similar interests in agriculture. She told me that she is truly inspired by my vision of keeping my faith and my wisdom too and that touched my heart. I told her about the Angels Rodeo and she is proud of me for being committed to producing this event for five years. As a leader, you never know the lives you might be impacting. #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301

  • Developing respectful and kind relationships is the foundation of everything I do. For me, relationships come before anything else, and it shows as I still have relationships with some children from many years ago. I am currently in the process of writing my teaching philosophy and creating a website for The Grateful Classroom. What would you like to see on the website?

  • I received my Aggie Ring today! It was such an honor to have my friends and family along side of me. I developed relationships with families in line and told them about the Angels Rodeo. I also told my friend Becky about the Angels Rodeo and shared my vision toward my goals after graduation. It was a beautiful day. It was just very cold. #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301

  • My Personal Growth Project consists of cooking healthy meals and working out, in order to develop a healthy lifestyle. I have inspired my room mates to start cooking more healthy meals and they have enjoyed cooking new recipes for a healthy lifestyle. I will be able to cook for the concession stand at the Angels Rodeo. I have been able to develop relationships with my mother and room mates through cooking. It has been a fun process of learning new recipes. I have had challenges with not working out everyday due to my studies. It sometimes has been hard to complete an entire work out. However, I am proud of my personal growth from not working out at all to implementing a frequent routine. #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301

  • I am so excited that I get to share about the Angels Rodeo at Challenge Air this weekend through encouraging more participation. At this event, special needs children have the opportunity to fly in a helicopter! This will be my first time to work at this event. I encouraged one of my friends to help me with the coloring station to promote the Angels Rodeo. I cannot wait to build connections with more Angels and their families. I can’t wait to share more pictures with you guy’s and tell you about how the event went. #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301

  • I have built a connection with the Aggie Rodeo team this semester by attending their weekly Bible study on Monday nights. My friend, Baylee Jankowski, leads the study. I am honored to be around Godly examples that will guide me in the right direction and I am so thankful that I have gotten to know each one of them better throughout the semester. We discuss each week how we can share the Gospel as this will have an effect on future generations. By spreading God’s word, we work toward a common goal of being more well-rounded in our walk with Christ. I told them about the Angels Rodeo tonight. Baylee said she would be more than happy to come as Rodeo Queen. #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301

  • This is the flyer for the 5th Annual Angels Rodeo! I finally have a finished product. I took the time to stop, reflect and develop goals for this years event. I remember only two individuals showed up to the first ever planning meeting. Now, the event has grown with over one hundred volunteers who are passionate about serving the special angels community. We had fifty angels participate in the previous Angels Rodeo and I am looking forward to encouraging more contestants to participate. I have built solid connections in my community and asked for sponsorships from local businesses throughout Montgomery County. I am looking forward to this years event being bigger than ever because we are celebrating the fifth year of its existence! #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301

  • Happy Halloween! We celebrated at work today. While talking with my co-workers, we discussed about what we believe could positively affect the Education Department in the future. We are starting Virtual Professional Development with teachers and are creating curriculum for underserved students across the state of Texas. My boss has set a goal of wanting to have the curriculum written by December so we can send it out to school districts. I discussed the Angels Rodeo briefly with my co-workers. Everyone was so positive and encouraged me to follow my vision. I will continue to meet others across the CRDLLA Department as we all come from distinctive walks of life and speak different languages. #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301

  • Not a sales person nor me! ⁣
⁣
People ask why I sling shampoo alongside my teaching job, after explaining I get a sense of community, residual income, personal development and a load of new friends! 🙌🏻🙌🏻⁣
⁣
I ask.. is this something your looking for? ⁣
⁣
A common response is Oooh no I can’t sell! ⁣
⁣
As someone who has worked in sales my honest answer is no nor me! Any sales role is about developing relationships and building trust. Slinging shampoo in my spare time is about developing relationships with people, building trust, understanding their hair issues and making personal recommendations that will help improve their hair! ⁣
⁣
Now we all have friends, that is developing a relationship! 😃⁣
So this isn’t really about sales it’s about getting to know people, asking questions and recommending products, like you would recommend a book or a restaurant! ⁣
⁣
Do you want to develop relationships with others, looking for a new venture, send me a DM for a sneaky peek or a chat over a cup of ☕️, up to you no pressure.

  • I had my Communication in Organizations and Society class this morning. We talked about organizations communicating the initiative of their company and objectives to make the world a better place. Our vision, as a class, is to make the world more sustainable by making resources last for future generations. I also received a water bottle or sustainability “swag”, as my professor calls it, from attending the Office of Sustainability presentation. We had the opportunity to talk about our goals as students to communicate our own personal vision. I told my classmates about the Angels Rodeo that will take place on March 1st. My professor and classmates were intrigued to volunteer. I also discovered that the girl sitting beside me is from Istanbul. We had a long discussion about how I had to stay overnight in the Istanbul airport when our flight to Greece was delayed. I also shared my experiences while studying abroad in Greece. #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301

  • Today was a perfect day to get some coffee at Sweet Eugenes! I met up with my friend Kristin today and I was able to inspire her with my vision of producing the Angels Rodeo for special needs children. I told her I was searching for volunteers and sponsors. Kristin told me she would be more than happy to promote the event, as she is involved in the International Business Association organization and the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She said she would talk to her friends within her organization and sorority about volunteering. I was also able to catch up with her and learned that she is studying abroad in Spain, next semester. I was able to tell her about my experiences studying abroad in Greece this past summer. #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301

I told my room mates about the event and encouraged them to volunteer. I asked them to share my vision with others across campus. I am so busy with school and work that I have not really had time to talk with them. I am glad I took the time tonight to make connections with them and discovered that we all had a mutual love for agriculture. #Inspire #developingrelationships #aled301
