  • Mucus. Or as the kids like to call it, snot. Pretty gross stuff. 😷

BUT, did you know that it plays an important part in keeping your nasal passages moist and healthy? Mucus actually helps to trap a lot of the dirt and dust that you inhale through your nose. 👃🏻
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, thickened mucus can block your baby's nose, causing a disruption to sleep, nursing and feeding. Lucky FESS Little Noses is a natural way to help relieve blocked noses caused by thickened mucus. 🙏🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember: Always read the label. Follow the directions for use. If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional.

Silky rich on the palate with a touch of peppery spice and soft lingering tannis, this crimson red is made from grapes that were fermented on skins for 7-10 days before maturing over the next 8 months #didyouknow

  • #didyouknow Nudibranchs live at virtually all depths of salt water, from the intertidal zone to depths of well over700 m (2,300 ft). The greatest diversity of nudibranchs is seen in warm, shallow reefs, althougha new nudibranch species was discovered at a depth near 2,500 m (8,200 ft). Nudibranchs are benthic animals, found crawling over the bottom substrate. The only exceptionsto this are the neustonic Glaucus nudibranchs, which float upside down just under the ocean'ssurface and the pelagic nudibranch, Cephalopyge trematoides, which swims in the water column.

The body forms of nudibranchs vary a great deal, butbecause they are opisthobranchs, unlike most othergastropods, they are apparently bilaterally symmetricalexternally (but not internally) because they haveundergone secondary detorsion. In all nudibranchs, themale and female sexual openings are on the right side ofthe body, reflecting their asymmetrical origins. They lack amantle cavity. Some species have venomous appendages(cerata) on their sides, which deter predators. Many alsohave a simple gut and a mouth with a radula.

Nudibranchs use a variety of chemical defenses to aid in protection, but it is not necessary for thestrategy to be lethal to be effective; in fact there are good arguments that chemical defensesshould evolve to be distasteful rather than toxic.

Nudibranchs are hermaphroditic, thus have a set ofreproductive organs for both sexes, but they cannotfertilize themselves. Nudibranchs typically deposit their eggs within a gelatinousspiral.

1. Emperor penguins are truly beautiful birds. Adults have a white stomach and a black head, back, tail and wings. They also have yellowy-gold markings on the side of their head and neck.

2. Emperor penguins are the largest of all the different kinds of penguin. On average they measure 115cm tall – about the height of the average six year old.

3. Emperor penguins spend their entire lives in Antarctica – the Earth’s southernmost continent – where temperatures can drop to as low as -60°C. Brrrr.

4. To survive in such low temperatures, these brilliant birds have special adaptations – they have large stores of insulating body fat and several layers of scale-like feathers that protect them from icy winds. They also huddle close together in large groups to keep themselves, and each other, warm.

5. Around April every year (the start of the Antarctic winter) emperor penguins meet to breed on the thick Antarctic ice. By the time the female lays her egg (usually around June), she”s worked up a big appetite! She passes the egg to the male before journeying up to 80km to the open ocean where she can feed her hungry tummy on fish, squid and krill.

  • #didyouknow Sperm whales are easily recognised by their huge, block-shaped heads. The grey-brown skin is fairly smooth on their enormous head, but forms distinctive wrinkles along their log-shaped body. Two-thirds down the whale’s back is a distinct triangular or rounded hump. Male and female sperm whales are very different sizes; females typically grow to 11m whereas male sperm whales can be up to an impressive 18m long.
Sperm whales feed mainly on medium-sized squid, which they hunt for using echolocation, but they may also hunt for giant squid, octopuses and rays. Sperm whales are able to dive to incredible depths, venturing into underwater canyons to search for prey, and are able to remain underwater for a remarkable 2 hours.
Female sperm whales usually live in groups of up to 12 adult females with their young. Male sperm whales leave these groups when they become mature, at the age of about 10, and join other mature males in ‘bachelor groups’. As male sperm whales grow older, they typically leave these groups and live solitary lives.
Sperm whales are likely to be sensitive to disturbance from underwater man-made noise. This noise, including from ships and seismic testing by oil and gas companies, may disrupt sperm whales as they hunt for prey and deter them from important areas of habitat.
Sperm whales have been recorded in the ocean all around Australia, but as they prefer to live in very deep water, usually deeper than 200 metres and often over 1,000 metres deep, you are unlikely to ever see one from the coast.
