They say that grief occurs in five stages. First there’s denial, followed by anger; then comes bargaining, depression and acceptance. In my opinion, those fives stages don’t really exist. I learned from a young age that you simply learn to build your life around your grief. The Magical Wood was written to help open up the difficult conversation around grief and death. I wanted to write a book that would’ve helped me after my dad was killed. The earlier we start to introduce the conversation around death and grief in our schools, the earlier we can break the taboo in the UK. In my opinion, children should be explained to honestly what has happened, in words that they can understand. Let them see how you feel. I love my family time, but I also love my work and ‘routine’ (if you can call it that when every day is different! 😂)
I’m not wishing away the weekend but it’s a very busy run of shoots and edits in before we head to New York next month - and I can’t wait to get stuck back in! 😝

This little dude always wants to jump in my #selfies lately 😜 #monkeyseemonkeydo I guess 🤷♀️ I don’t mind tho... he’s always watching and learning from #mammabear he’s even a pretty darn good #accountability partner making sure I do my “weakout:workout” 💜💜💜 Nico was diagnosed with a speech delay last April and has received amazing support and therapy at his pre school 🙏🙏🙏 which is why when he says “mamma I take a picture ?” Or “mamma I work out too” it’s a obvious yes from this mamma 🤗🤗🤗 Forever grateful his daycare teacher reached out to me when she noticed he was behind. There’s a lot of emotion and bit of pride that goes along with discovering your child has a #developmentaldelay like maybe I did something wrong when he was in the womb but I had to let go of that #fear and #anxiety and put my focus and energy on helping him to reach his full potential. Which is why I decided to leave my full time:salaried Nursing position to work per diem and switch to coaching full time. It has allowed me to be there for both my boys when they need me most. Great news to share.... one year later he is on track to catch up to his peers 🎉 Way to go Nico 🦋🦋🦋 #proudmamma
🚶🏿♀️The time of inactivity after which the loss of physical form begins to be recognized is variable and depends on several factors: previous physical state, age and type of training that was carried out. After a considerable time, this is what can happen after stopping training:
1️⃣Aerobic capacity: can be significantly affected after 2 weeks of inactivity, but you will notice a reduction of about 19% after 9 weeks without training. Thus, after about 3 months of inactivity, aerobic capacity could be lost by 30%. 2️⃣Muscular power: after 1 month The neuromuscular connection responsible for the activation of muscle fibers decrease, causing a reduction in speed and strength.
3️⃣Loss of muscle mass: The loss will not be easily perceived, but after 1 month without activity we will notice a slight decrease of between 1 and 5%. But considerable muscle loss occur after 3 months without training. 👉🏻The loss of diameter is mainly due to the decrease in glycogen, water and muscle fluid levels, which means the loss of a large % of the size of the muscle. In addition, decreasing the stimulus by means of loads also decreases inflammation in the tendons and muscles.
4️⃣Metabolic changes: Your metabolism will become less efficient to burn calories, will spend less at rest and will accumulate more fats and lactic acid even with less intense efforts. 🏋🏻♀️Therefore, if you stop your training program, you should control the diet since it will be more difficult to burn extra calories and you will be more prone to increase your body fat %. 5️⃣Loss of strength: Individual muscle fibers have contractile proteins (actin/myosin).These contractile proteins muscles can develop tension,shorten or stretch.🏋🏾♂️If you stop training as your muscles get smaller, the amount of contractile proteins decreases and you will notice a reduction in muscle strength and endurance.
6️⃣Hormonal effect:The hormonal production decreases: we produce less testosterone and growth hormone, affecting protein synthesis and glycogen accumulation in muscles and consequently less energy and less muscle hypertrophy.
