  • Root & Branch x Hudson Valley, The Community Of Scholars - Imperial IPA | 8%
.
Multi-oat/wheat DIPA. Cashmere, Citra & Galaxy hops, with orange peel and NY raw wildflower honey
.
Fairly full yet fluffy in texture with sweet rounded citrus and juicy tropical fruit, light honeyed edge... maybe. The orange peel additions come through to a degree on the nose and also on a dry wheaty finish. Very good indeed, just less the wow factor of the previous collabs
.
Good to roll out the old Bissell Bros glass 🍻

  • Treehouse, Punch - IPA | 6.9%
.
100% Galaxy hops
.
This isn't necessarily jam packed with big singular flavours, though the Galaxy hops do shine and there's a dry earthiness on the end. It's one of those beers where the whole thing feels effortless
.
It's almost up there with Other Halfs DDH Space Diamonds or Trilliums Congress St, both Galaxy hopped and both sublime

  • Double Boysenberry BlackBerry Black Currant Fruitsicle from @oddsideales. ⁣
⁣
Lot of hate for this one it seems. Sorry it’s not a fruit smoothie in a glass that some of y’all will ONLY drink. (Nothing against those, I love them too). But this was a great beer. You don’t always need chunks of fruit in a fruited beer to make it taste incredible. I mean, just look at that color! Plenty of flavor too with clean fruit and a mild tartness. I picked up each fruit flavor and even the “popsicle” approach they were going for. Not my first Fruitsicle from Oddside and certainly not my last. ⁣

  • What were you doing way back in the Fall 2006? We’re thinking that Scott and Brendan were probably getting this batch of 2007 Gratitude Barleywine into the tank.
.
Fast forward 13 years to today, and we’re serving it right now on draft. Barleywine, like this lively, caramelly and potent 11.3% ABV sipper, is one of the few beer styles that can improve with age.

Stop by the brewpub (we open back up Tues at 4) and take a few sips of history with our Gratitude, while we gear up for our 15th Anniversary Celebration, #FirstFifteen next month.

  • It’s DAY ONE of the Second Annual WVG Bar Tour! Remember, to join the tour with me, just post a pic of what you’re drinking (and what you’re listening to, if ya want) to either your feed or story and tag me in it, and I’ll repost you to my own story! And bam! You’re on the tour! So let’s get drinking!
•
We’ll be hitting a bunch of awesome Pittsburgh breweries this week, all ending with a brand new sing-along music video on Saturday! So to start things off we’re here at Roundabout Brewery in Lawrenceville. Steve Sloan is their award winning brewmaster and Roundabout is so named because of his wife Dyana’s New Zealand background. As such, they brew lots of beers here with New Zealand hops, like this one: their Rebranded Pale Ale with Motueka and Pacific Gem! Not only is it a perfect starter beer for a long week of drinking, it’s also a perfect pairing for this record: “Howlin” by Australia’s hottest psychedelic dance band, Jagwar Ma. (Don’t have any NZ records, tried to get close geographically.)
•
This album is an absolute blast and quite frankly one of my favorite dance records period. Its influences are all over the map - a good chunk of this sounds like LCD Soundsystem - but it’s also infused with their own unique blend of indie pop and trip hop weirdness that keeps it from falling into the trap many dance albums do - it never becomes repetitive. It’s been far too long since they’ve done a proper tour so hopefully there’s something on the horizon soon!
•
On a tangential note, the Pittsburgh region has started installing roundabouts all over the place. A lotta yinzers drive like real jag offs through ‘em cuz they’re not used to going in circles n’at. But I enjoy them, and find they’re best experienced while shouting quotes from kiwi films as you roll through them at full speed. Like, “I kick ass for the Lord!” and “Party’s over!” and “Lionel, your mother ate my dog!” Also realizing now that it’s really just quotes exclusively from Dead Alive. But I mean, do you really need any other films at all when that one already exists? Like why are we even still making movies anymore? They’ve already peaked.
•
Cheers all! Come along with me on the tour and drink up!

(13.5%). A good friend shared this and we all sipped it like cognac. I mean, I’ve never sipped Cognac, but I’ve seen how it’s done in the movies and that’s what it looked like. 😂 Thanks for sharing @shellclothingbrand

  • It was a successful weekend of grand openings with both @forgottenstarbrewing and @one_mpls opening officially on Saturday. Both taprooms are beautiful, full of character, and have some great beer on tap. I had the chance to check out @forgottenstarbrewing last week and I loved the history behind the building and the name, as well as the beers. My favorites were the Big Stick IPA and the Liquid Sunshine Belgian Saison 😋🍻
.
.
Although I couldn’t make the official grand opening on Saturday I was following along on social media and the team at @forgottenstarbrewing KILLED it for their first day. Congrats! 🎉🍻

  • I found a new happy place, y’all: a bookstore with a full bar, a kitchen serving from breakfast to dinner, and a beautiful shaded patio area. 🍻 @larkandowlbooksellers is a fairly new business in Georgetown opened by women who had once been in a book club together. And I think I drooled over every inch of it. The @larkandowlbistro side is run by the guys of @betterhalfbar and @thebrewandbrew in downtown Austin, so you know those broccoli tots (second photo 🤤) are going to be good. The books are also carefully curated, the selection driven often by reader demand. (I bought that new @katherinecenter novel – I can never resist a purchase when I’m in a bookstore.) #intheglass: Dave’s Not Here IPA by @southernheightsbrewing. Yes, the beer selection, mostly local offerings, is also👌🏼. So looking forward to writing an @austin360 story about this wonderful little place. And can’t wait to be back... 📚

  • For those of you who told me I NEEDED to go to @epcotfoodandwine .... I GET IT NOW!!! If you have any plans of going to this festival next year or any year, I highly recommend saving this post. I didn't learn tooo many tricks and tips but here is what I can tell you:👇
•
•
•
1) Download the #DisneyApp. Change the location to Epcot and now you have your own personal handheld map and access to the wait times for rides and activities. It helped ALOT
2) GET THE STAMP BOOK! I'm telling you, you want to keep track of where you've been and mark where you want to go. Plus they come with adorable stamps, come on!? 3) Just do 2 laps around the countries if you were planning on 1. It's not thaaat far and you'll want to get all your senses going before making your decision on what to eat/drink.
4) DRINK LOCAL!! This fest is great about having plenty of options for local wine, cider and beer!! My favorite beer of the day actually came from @playalindabrewco, a brewery basically in my backyard!
5) DON'T EAT BREAKFAST BEFORE 😂
6) If you're taking a bus from a hotel or resort, check how many stops are after you...we did not and wound up taking over an hour to get to the park when it should have been a 10 minute uber ride 🙄
7) Definitely go in their cider house. It's a warm ( it was freezing when we went) and comfortable spot to sip on something yummy while taking in the gorgeous design of the room. 🍻
•
•
•
Well there you have it! My mini guide to #epcotsfoodandwine festival! I hope you learned something from it and I hope you all can make it one of these years because it will not disappoint you!! •
•
•
Favorite foods this year: 👇
• teriyaki steamed bun
• lobster roll
• seared scallops

    1) Download the #DisneyApp .

Well there you have it! My mini guide to #epcotsfoodandwine festival! I hope you learned something from it and I hope you all can make it one of these years because it will not disappoint you!! •

    Favorite foods this year: 👇
    • teriyaki steamed bun
    • lobster roll
    • seared scallops
    • escargot stuffed croissant with pesto

3.99 untappd.
Приходите пробовать!

AF brew - one of the main Russian craft breweries - started a new project called Symbiotica. This is a brand for non alcohol/ low alcohol drinks. They start with kombucha. Kombucha - is a natural fermented drink originally from China. It also known as “tea mushroom”. The body of kombucha is a zooglea - a symbiosis of yeast and acetic bacterias, which is processing sugars and we got carbonated sour sweet drink in the end. AF brew founder tells about kombucha: “... we brew tea in a 500 liters tank, make a base for kombucha cultivation. Fermentation proceeds in an open tanks where kombucha “lives”. It is quite big - goes to 100 kilograms. After this drink is pumped to another tank for maturation, and on this stage flavor and aroma supplements can be added.”
Nowadays kombucha becomes very popular in USA and West Europe.
Our bar provides kombucha on tap, with cucumber, lemon and mint flavor, 1% abv., 3.99 untappd.
Come to try it!
