In 2015 a good friend of mine introduced me to tea. He arranged a very special tea ceremony in a traditional Japanese house in Kyoto. During the ceremony, microphones were placed next to the tea master enhancing all the sounds that he made as he prepared the tea.
I remember it was such a captivating experience. As if I stepped into a different dimension. One where a meditative state was present and shared by the group whom I attended the ceremony with.
From that moment on I started to read about tea and its culture, and it has become an essential aspect of my daily routine. Tea has a strong social character. But it's the opposite of alcohol where the more you drink, the sloppier the conversation gets. With tea, the conversation level increases the more you drink.
