Do you struggle with shaping your eyebrows every morning? How does sleeping in for 20 more minutes sound? We can make it happen!
Ombré Powder Glow brows is a technique performed with the assistance of a Master Liner Machine and provides a soft appearance that is both natural looking and long lasting. This brow type typically lasts 1-2 years and is the perfect alternative for filling in your brows every morning.
While the treatment is customized for each client, Ombré Powder Glow gives a light to dark shadow to brows with a lighter appearance at the front of the brow and grows darker toward the tail. You’ll have perfect eyebrows and an extra 20 minutes in bed each morning!
JOEY DTLA is a very busy spot. Too busy to be a regular hit up for me but typical for a "heart of downtown." A coolish place for an "after the game" feed for fat walletiers, Joey hosts an abundance of amenable staffers to assist with any questions about food or drink.
My dining partner started with a sushi cone which he said was so so. I opted for pan fried gyoza which was same ol' same, no hidden lottery ticket. We also tried out the *Lobster Grilled cheese,*Brie paired with lobster. No, no, and sooo no. Brie is much too strong and bossy to partner up with lobster. It's like spousal abuse sandwich style; Lobster cowering in the corner with brie just going all apoplectic "You will TASTE how I TELLLL you to taste!!!" This dish was a total miss, much like the lobster flavor I was expecting.
Next up: 20 oz *Bone-In Ribeye*
wagyu butter, peppercorn sauce, mashed potatoes served in a flavorful crispy wonton. Very nice, not roll my eyes up into my head nice but... The steak had a smokiness which wasn't disappointing. The asparagus sweet with a pleasant fresh crunch. The finisher, an individually baked lil apple pie with vanilla bean ice cream. Ok, this was delicious. I wasn't going to get one one but I'm so glad I did. Warm, sweet (much like myself dare I sayyyy?) but not sickingly sweet, apples slightly tart and yummy with a light crumble on top. Alas Joey more lows than highs dining. $$$$ #dtlaeating#fooddtla#dtla#eatdowntownlosangeles#joeydtla#foodanddrinksdtla#steakdtla#lookingforsteakdtla#steaklover#applepie#loveapplepie
My mom is always game for taking me to walk my dog in the coolest places around Houston at the strangest hours! Last night, we headed to Downtown Houston to participate in the interactive art installations. Created by RAW Design in collaboration with ATOMIC3 and produced by Quartier des Spectacles of Montreal, Canada, the rainbow-colored rotating prisms of Prismatica are on view along Avenida Houston until January 5, 2020 during 8am-11pm. Nearby in Discovery Green are two art installations designed to complement each other (these are on view through February 24, 2020!). Created by French creative studio Pitaya, “Paloma” is a series of 200 colorful aluminum “origami” birds suspended from the canopy of live oak trees along Discovery Green’s Brown Promenade and illuminated by dynamic LED lights to create the illusion of flight. Houston-based artist and anthropologist Lina Dib created a sound installation called “Here and Now” to accompany “Paloma.” Coincidentally, my mom and I met Lina the night before at a mutual friend’s home — I shared with her that I saw her from afar when she was installing the work on a quiet Saturday morning a few weeks ago.and it was such a pleasure to go back and experience her work again now that I know her. Her work explores ecological change and global migration, and she choreographed sounds that dance in conversation with Pitaya’s sculptures to create an immersive and contemplative experience beneath the century-old trees. P.S. What struck me most about walking around in downtown Houston was how wonderful my experience was and how it was so vastly different than my 25 years of living in Downtown Los Angeles aka DTLA (which I adored, by the way!). However, in contrast to the current state of #DTLA , Houston has a clean and vibrant downtown with an amazing walkable series of public art throughout the streets. #HoustonArt#Houston#HTX#HTown#HTownMuse#artinstallations#publicart#lightshow#lightdesign 12.9.19
